My Avatar

Hello, my name is Nikki and I'll be the host this evening...that was stupid.
Anyway, I am currently 15 years and I am trying to become an active writer on fanfiction.net. What I mean is, I started writing a fanfic about Inuyasha's story, but it didn't seem personal enough for my readers. Luckily, I opted out of writing with only about 13 reviews and seven chapters. It was worth the low amount of reviews. Anyway, I'm rewriting it and I hope you check it out. My penname is darkener14.

Clearing Up Stuff About Inuyasha?
Clearing Up Stuff About Inuyasha?

I read an article on here that tried ‘to clear up’ certain parts of the anime, Inuyasha. Frankly, I like reading new things about Inuyasha, and I usually find some pretty cool articles and interesting rants. But the article called ‘Clearing Up Stuff About Inuyasha’ is misleading to the people who read it.

First off, Inuyasha resembles an akita, a Japanese dog. I looked up the akita and realized that he doesn’t. They may have some resemblance, but Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha’s father do not when they are in their demon form. Sesshoumaru has long, wavy white hair and is not as stout as an akita when he is in demon form. Sesshoumaru’s ears are not as stiff also. Although, you may not be convinced and will say we’re thinking of Inuyasha here, but consider this, Inuyasha is not able to turn into a full demon like Sesshoumaru, so it’s possible his ears can’t transform fully either. If you notice, Sesshoumaru’s ears are pointed also in his human form, though not as furry as Inuyasha.

Second, Inuyasha does mean female dog. The ‘yasha’ is a feminine form of demon in Japan. There are feminine and masculine words used in Japan. Like for instance, if you know about Fruits Basket, an anime and manga series, you would know Kyo, which is a masculine name. If it weren’t and became feminine, it would be more like Kyu or Kai. Besides, doesn’t Inuyasha sound better than something along the lines of Inuyoshi?

Third, Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru’s father isn’t named Inutaishou, Touga, or anything for that matter. First, Inu no Taishou means ‘Leader of the Dogs.’ Inutaishou was first used in a fanfiction at fanfiction.net, it is just a name that writers can used for some consistency or reference. Secondly, Touga is a name for him used when creating the third movie ‘Swords of an Honorable Ruler.’ The artists and director used it to reference to him for some consistency. Touga is a word that means ‘fang.’

Next, Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru are half-brothers! They both have the same father, but they have different mothers. If one was adopted, then they wouldn’t be related and would be step-brothers. But, if you’re thinking of genetics, it’s possible that the dominant trait is demon blood and the recessive human blood and DNA, that is if they have the same mother or his sons were conceived with humans. I doubt that either is the case though because Sesshoumaru refers to Inuyasha’s mother as ‘her,’‘wench,’and ‘your mother.’Would you talk to your own mother like this if she was human and you were demon?

Sesshoumaru’s ‘tail’ is not a style for women. It is a pelt to show a sign of royalty and nobility called a mokomoko-sama. In an interview, Rumiko Takahashi, the creator of Inuyasha, said so herself. In the third movie, his father wore one as well, and as the ruler of the West. I highly doubt the Inu no Taishou would wear women accessories, let alone let his son do the same. On another note, Sesshoumaru uses it to fly on at points in the series, and orb also.

Fifth, around the 1500's, the Feudal Era and time frame Inuyasha takes place, the Japanese began to discover how to mold and create industrial machinery, and since this is the Warring States Era (a.k.a Feudal Era), they made guns and weapons of destruction also. That is why Ginkotsu was a machine and also part demon. There was also another of the Shichinin-Tai named Renkotsu who used weapons like bazookas and grenade-launchers as attacks against Inuyasha. There are countless other demons that used man-made weapons, such as in the fourth movie, ‘Fire on the Mystic Island.’

Finally, Kikyo thought that her hate for Inuyasha was the only thing that kept her alive, and this is my belief, but that it isn’t solely that reason but she stays alive because she was resurrected by Urasue in the earlier episodes of Inuyasha and she gained the part of Kagome’s soul that reflected Kikyo’s last thoughts and feelings, which were hate for Inuyasha that were hidden deep inside Kagome. In later episodes, Hakudoushi, Naraku’s child helper, cannot find any hate inside Kagome until he digs deep inside her heart. Contrary to popular belief (haha), Kikyo is not nice. She doesn’t help anyone with personal satisfaction and only saves Inuyasha and group because they are part of the tide that will erode the rocks (or, they are the link that will destroy Naraku). No one has ever said or anything of the sort like, “Strangely enough, Kikyo was being nice.” Anyway, if she was nice, she wouldn’t play with people’s hearts, like Inuyasha’s or Kagome’s. Even Naraku’s. Kagome was reincarnated from Kikyo because Kikyo has spiritual powers. She was trained to save and sanctify the Shikon no Tama. She went through a spiritual process that taught her all she needed to know to be a priestess and keep humanity safe from evil. This was reincarnated into Kagome when she turned fifteen, and it may have been the year that Kikyo died.

I don’t want to come off as a jerk to the author of the article I’m ranting about, but there are flaws in your truth. I find the facts on websites (such as ear-tweak.com, and inunotaisho.net), on the Japanese DVDs of Inuyasha with subtitles and facts on Japan in Feudal Times (like the point I made about machinery), and even in fanfictions (like the subject on Sesshoumaru’s pelt). I hope you aren’t offended but find this helpful, and please if you beg to differ, leave a comment. ; )
