One cloudy day a little girl named Aya sat alone in the grass staring at the sky as she waited for her friend Sada to return. Sada was very adventurous unlike Aya who was a bit shy. Sada had gone to find her pet kitten that had dark green eyes. The wind started to pick up, Aya felt a shiver down her spine. She tried to get up but her legs had gone numb. Looking back up at the sky, her eyes grew heavy. In the corner of her eye she saw something flies across the sky. It had long red hair, black wings, and a long flowing black dress. It caught Aya’s eye and she quickly turned to look, but saw nothing. She couldn’t keep her eyes open any longer; they shut and Aya quickly fell asleep. There was a loud screech in the distance. Aya woke up very frightened. Standing up, she looked in the direction of the scream, hesitated for a moment, and started to run in that direction. It was night now and she couldn’t see much. She came to a clearing in the trees. In front of her there was a strange figure laying in the grass. She slowly walked over to it and stepped into a puddle of warm liquid. With fear of what it was she quickly turned to the sky and saw what she had seen in the sky before. Now she knew it wasn’t her imagination. The creature she had seen was the goddess of death, Shiko, and she had killed Sada. Aya fell to her knees in the liquid that she now knew was Sada’s blood. The wind picked up again, small drops of water dripped down her face. The skies cried with her as drops of water fell from the sky as well. Hearing a meow from behind her she turned around to see what it was and slowly started to tremble. There stood Sada’s pet kitten, but now, it had blood red eyes and dragon like wings. It let out a hiss and the…everything Aya could see…went black. Shiko had killed them both, Sada and Aya. And so, today it rains for the tears that Aya cried and the sadness that she felt for her best friend Sada.
