About Gaming
I went to Toys R Us today and took advantage of their Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal
I bought Metroid Prime 3 for the Wii and two other titles that I'm going to exchange later on for, probably Smash Brothers Online and something else
I was thinking a little about what my favorite games ever have been. Here's the list:
Super Metroid (SNES)
Chrono Trigger (SNES)
Mortal Kombat I, II, III (Arcade/SNES)
Street Fighter 2 (SNES)
Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)
Final Fantasy IV and VI (SNES)
Warcraft II (PC)
Super Contra (SNES)
Tetris (All)
Dr. Mario (NES)
Daytona USA (Saturn)
Quest for Glory 4 (PC)
Soul Calibur (DC)
Castlevania DS: Dawn of Sorrow (DS)
Hopefully Metroid Prime 3 will grab a spot on this list when I start to play it. I've never been a huge fan of the FPS genre, so hoping it's more like Super Metroid than, say, a Doom game (didn't play the other two MP's)
Does anyone know any popular anime music video creators personally? Can anyone give me the links to a few of their blogs/personal websites/etc. even if you don't know them?
I had a RANDOM idea of renting like a room in NYC and giving talks about Artpreneurship to local artists for free for me to practice my speaking skills/do a nice service/promote the book
Then I realized that it would probably take a lot of work to get even a few people to show up
If I ever made a list of the top 10 best otaku moments for myself, publicly posting a video of dancing Japanese girls singing 'you drive me crazy' to Jeff Borncamp and Aaron Ecker in the midst of what we now know as a fake lawsuit threat would definitely make it
...So how thrilled was I to see yet another video from the English-teaching trio, courtesy of Panda/Gail. Man, what I wouldn't give to play that guy's part in the video..how do you get a job like that?:
- I'm going to tone down hyping the new theOtaku until I'm further along with the coding...so much work remains and my health keeps bouncing up and down that quiet is better. I still aim to make it by Thanksgiving
- I saw 3:10 to Yuma, Christian Bale rocks
- We desperately need an ignore member(s) feature on theO/myO
- Details forthcoming but I will be at the New York Anime Festival (located very close to my apartment) this December with some speaking gigs. If you live near NYC would love for your support. I'm pleased for the opportunity, hope that people will show up, and have a lot to say. I'll try to get someone to videotape if you can't make it (and super-impose my avatar, of course) Comments (16) |

Last night and today I've had a lot of pain in the joints of each hand which affects my ability to type
Thankfully, I'm seeing a doctor in two days anyway because of other health issues
In other news, thanks to the podcast team for doing an interview this week above and beyond their normal duties
And super bonus extra thanks to Mike Jolley, our Version Vibrant front end designer /developer without whom we'd be in a lot of trouble right now. I've worked with probably 100+ people over the last 8 years and he's easily in the top tier Comments (8) |

If I hosted a panel at an anime convention what would you be most interested in hearing about? What would make you look forward to going?
Random: I was looking for information on Egyptian booby-traps and typed: "wikipedia pyramid boobytraps" in Google only to see theOtaku appear as the #3 result. Have you ever seen theOtaku search results by typing something not anime/otaku related? Comments (9) |
