Not This Crud Again...
Rule #1: Never, ever, ever rip me or anyone close to me off.
Rule #2: If you break rule #1, run and hide as soon as possible.
I checked my email tonight and saw an alert from my bank saying they had locked my account because of suspicious transactions.
I login and see almost $3,000 in charges that I didn't make. Someone had managed to procure my credit card information (but not my credit card).
The culprit made two large purchases: One from Yahoo's advertising network and the second from this "company" called TriangleSoft.
The buy from Yahoo's advertising network means the culprit has ties to the internet marketing realm.
I investigate TriangleSoft's website. Someone managed to place an order there for $800. MAJOR RED FLAG: There's no way to buy anything on their website. All the links and images are broken and nothing there is even close to $800.
Even bigger red flag, TriangleSoft is an exact copy of another website, which does work. Check out PeerGoal.com. Exact same site, just a different logo.
Looking at the registered owner of TriangleSoft shows it belongs to a lawyer based here in New York. Something is really fishy. It seems like the only person who could transfer money to TriangleSoft, which has a broken website, would be the owner. But why would the owner be that dumb?
The plot thickens. Let's hope this culprit is as dumb as two other well-known dirt bags. I'm going to call Yahoo! tomorrow to see what account the person tried to spend my money toward. I might even give a call to the owner of TriangleSoft.
I'm not happy...I'll keep you updated.
UPDATE: This might be an even bigger deal than I thought. My retirement savings, completely separate from my bank account, have been emptied...tomorrow will be fun...
UPDATE 2: Whew, my retirement account is safe. Just business as usual.

Fire Emblem
Still sick...
Played video games in bed all day. Fire Emblem rocks because if any of your characters die in battle, they're gone forever.
Also had to do taxes.
Congrats to Massin, who landed an internship with AMD. I have no doubt he can balance it with theO stuff come the summer.
I have to go to work tomorrow, I hope I'm not still sick then...
SomeGuy has a ridiculous meet-up report.

Still sick...spent the day in bed.
Watched some Inuyasha episodes. Question: Does Sesshomaru ever take Naraku on head-to-head? Who would have the upper hand in that battle?
I found a trick in Tales Of Symphonia. If you walk around with a ladies' man character, then every female character you talk to gives you a gift. Did you know that Kei?

Artpreneurship Review
CosmicSailor received and reviewed my upcoming book, Artpreneurship. Many of you know him as a straightforward, "tell it like it is" personality. Here's the unfiltered review:
The book is very down-to-earth and easy to read. It doesn't have that daunting dryness to it a business book has, and it's not sterile as most "how-to" books come off. It reads much like having a conversation with a knowledgeable friend, and that makes reading it very easy. The examples, anecdotes, quotes and bits of trivia peppered throughout are all relevant and simple to understand. I even found myself asking where did you find some of that stuff for a couple of them. The personal examples are very effective, they show the book was written by someone with experience. Readers will keep going seeing that the author is applying knowlege from his own experiences to the material he's presenting. Especially so the points where mistakes are admitted, those are more effective than thousands of success stories.
In reading the book through, I can see there's a lot of valuable infomation to be had there. The book's material can be applied not only to Art, but to Music, Writing, Photography, or any other field where one expects to find freelancers, and maybe even beyond those fields. I believe It's also possible to adapt the material for regular job interviews as well, and I will be testing that theory at my next job interview, even though I don't exactly know when my next one will come yet.
I'm also coming down with an illness. I feel fine now but I can feel it inching closer...ugh.

Met with a friend today who works for Google/YouTube. He always inspires new and interesting ideas, especially on the business side. It's always important to have a few really smart people who can offer you advice/feedback.
