Great Feedback
I sent James the beta copy of ARTPRENEURSHIP last night. I think he approached it a little skeptically at first, but after he read a few pages he printed the entire book out to read more carefuly. Now he emailed me saying he thinks it's even better than the Art Of Otaku book. What a compliment!

Considering James is an expert graphic designer, a published writer, and a steady-handed manager, I can't think of a better person to compliment the project.

Artpreneurship is mostly finished.

I have a beta copy in PDF form. I think it's awesome, personally.

I'm in a good mood tonight, so anyone interested in receiving this beta version, comment here with what you hope to get out of it.

My favorite response gets an email from me with it attached.

Otherwise you can wait and purchase it later in the month.

Gorgeous New Design
Since Art Of Otaku: Sessions has been delayed, I assigned its designer the task of re-doing the main page for Art Of Otaku: The Book. I'd like to keep selling it.

In only two days, he created and coded a masterpiece. I was speechless when I saw it. Check out his work:

Art Of Otaku: The Book

He's my secret weapon :-). The website no longer looks like it sells Viagra.

He'll also be designing the website for ARTPRENEURSHIP, my upcoming book. Can't wait to see that, too.

30 Quizzes In April?
I bet Massin that we'd approve 30 high quality quizzes this month. I think we can do it. A quiz a day keeps the Guru away.

Also: The next issue of our newsletter is forthcoming. It'll be a good one.

The #1 question on everyone's mind has been "How the heck did you get three embarrassing pictures of Jeff Borncamp?"

Even Rich from Anime Vegas gave me a call today to inquire (he loved the April Fool's joke btw).

The answer lies in World of Warcraft. During the AnimeFF debacle, I received over a dozen emails from his former guildmates (also ripped off by him), who sought blood and vengeance.

Messing with both anime AND video game fans was a stupid, stupid move.

One guildmate provided the pictures a couple weeks ago. I waited until April Fool's to post them.

Lighten Up!
Is it just me or did none of the other major anime sites do a single thing for April Fool's Day?

Lame.

Easter eggs, fan service, and quirky humor is a part of even the most serious anime. If an anime site can't celebrate April Fool's they're doing a disservice to the medium they choose to cover.

I'm very disappointed.

(theOtaku rules!)

And yes, those really are Jeff's pictures in the news post. Remember the photo I had up of Jeff at AnimeFF's registration table? You can compare.

There are two things I love right now:

(1) James' new theOtaku design. It's his best layout design ever. It manages the balance between retaining the current feel while also taking it a step further.

(2) Tales of Symphonia. I'm 12 hours into the game so far and love it. It does so many things right.

Quiz Prediction
My prediction: We're going to publish 30 high quality quizzes in the 30 days following the relaunch of our much-enhanced quiz website. We've never had a month with more than 15, so I'm excited!

Anime Expo
Right now I'm leaning heavily on going to Anime Expo this June. It's a good excuse to visit LA and to meet Gail and her husband John, as well as any members who also attend.

I know Batou from theO podcast/Anime Pulse attended last year.
