I feel like I'm living in a manga. A girl at work has been driving me crazy. She's nice one moment and very mean the next moment and vice-versa back and forth. She'll go to lengths to get my attention and then say something blunt and storm off. She's even crossed the line a couple times, leaving me speechless. If I'm nice to her she'll also make sure my co workers know about it, which is kind of strange too. What do you think?
Have you ever known someone whose acted like that?
I need a massage.

Question
Have any members ever been told about theOtaku by friends, to which you've responded "I'm already a member!"
This happened to me about a year ago. A girl I know IMed me that she was taking online quizzes.
"Oh?" I asked.
"Yeah! On a site called otaku, here's the link."
"Cool." I responded, then changed the subject.
I'm cool like that :-).

Massin is working on a triple-A, S-rank high priority project. Hopefully we'll have something for it up and running by next weekend. The purpose of the project is to revive Guru...
Fun fact: I'm actually Persian, ala Prince of Persia and the evil demons from the movie 300. 300 gives me lots of Halloween costume ideas.

You no longer have to worry about waiting until midnight to update your blog. The blue highlighting now works based on 24 hours, not by day.
Thanks Massin.

I went to an amazing restaurant today. There were two individual bathrooms, which only fit one person at a time.
Each bathroom had a one-way mirror as its entrance wall. This means that when you're going, you can see everyone in the restaurant as if the wall was made of glass, but no one can see you, of course.
It's the coolest and most bizarre thing ever. While I was there a girl came to the door and tried to open it. I took great pleasure in standing on the other side of the door and staring at her mockingly: "I control when you can enter, haha."
On another note, someone from NBC emailed me asking for more information about the AnimeFF incident.

This was by far the best comment I've ever seen, anywhere:
the real yojimbo: try nanites (microscopic robots) to increase her aging process
bellpickle: No thank you. o_o;
I'm glad I've sufficiently creeped out one of our members.
Don't worry, I joke around a lot, but I have no interest in girls at this point in time--otakuites are demanding too much from me as it is!

Anime News + Quizzes
For THEOTAKU, I have a dual focus this month: Guru and main page news.
The news team does a good job now of maintaining the main page's audience, but for growth, we should aim to refine and to double (or even triple) our output, from an average of 2.27 news posts/day to at least 5-6.
Such an ambitious goal requires an experienced, brilliant, and obsessive editorial director. We need someone who can dedicate 2-3 hours a day just thinking about anime/otaku news and how to improve our handling of it.
The search begins. If we have to acquire another site to attract its webmaster, fine. If we have to steal someone away, fine.
Question: Are there any anime/manga news sites or news blogs where you really admire the quality of daily output (not the obvious choices like ANN or ANS)?
PS: Thanks for pointing out bellpickle's real picture. She's just as cute as fake bellpickle. Now to invent a technology to make someone 7-8 years older...

This is SO unfair.
I endure so many papercuts and end up with a sickly catbus.
Bellpickle, in one afternoon, creates a flawless papercraft utopia.
I just wasn't built for arts and crafts...
Bellpickle's a lot younger than I thought, also. There's a pic of her at the bottom of her post, though her eyes are closed in it.

Paper Craft
I've started experimenting with this type of art called Papercraft.
It's kind of like origami. You print out a template, fold along the edges, glue strategically, and end up with a cool 3d toy.
You can find a site with loads of templates here. The Moogle one looks awesome.
Now, a humble admission. Arts and crafts has always been a weakness. I'm not bad at drawing, but I've always been awful at anything involving handiwork.
Nevertheless, after a lot of trial and error, I made the Catbus one:
Feel free to give it a try too, if you make anything let me know and I'll post it here.
