Keep your fingers crossed. Our operative, Agent 001, has two new missions pending. Both are slightly more difficult than the first. All her missions have the same theme: gather information through any means.

theOtaku Agent 001
theOtaku now has its first operative, codenamed: Agent 001. I gave her her first mission yesterday, which she completed to perfection.
...Great job!

Every hour I spend fighting AnimeFF is an hour away from theOtaku and Art Of Otaku. It sucks, but I think it's worth the sacrifice. What's problematic for them is that I can be quite obsessive :). I'm compiling a lengthy dossier on everything this company has done and everyone involved with it. Will keep adding.
I see that they've taken down their website. I wonder why...(hint: Every organization and guest of honor mentioned on their site hates them.)
I need someone who isn't phone shy and who can do one or two (very easy) missions for me. Email me or comment here if you're that person.

War Is Looming
I didn't make a post last night because I was livid, emotional.
Tonight I'm calm, which is why I'm comfortable breaking some silence about the convention.
Simply put, AnimeFF is, in my educated view, the single most incompetent, harmful, and immoral organization I've ever worked with. The damage I've seen them cause, to so many parties already, is staggering.
Not only that, they're sue-happy and I've been battling with them constantly to convince them to fulfill their end of the contest agreement. That explains the quiet, when maybe I should have spoken out sooner.
Artists who won, from inside or outside the community, don't worry, we have your back no matter what happens.
I have a LOT more to say about this, but war has not been declared yet. If they fulfill their prize obligation quickly then we will do an official report and be done with them forever. If they screw us or the anime community over for the 89th time, then all bets are off.
That's where we stand. A war is brewing and the opening shot could occur at any moment. No one this big has ever attacked theOtaku in such a frightning way, but we have a moral imperative to stand our ground and, fight back.

First, let me say: BINGO. This was an impressive feat; 10 posts in one day. Congrats to the news team, especially Kei.
Second, I promised something new today, and while 99% of that something is done, I'm just too tired now to stay up another few hours to launch. We'll get it out within a few days, no hurry. :-)
Third, I saw a fortune teller today. I think I could become a fortune teller too, with a little practice. She told me that my stars suggest that I'm the type of person who can love two people at once. I told her: "Only two? I can love one million people at once!" Hint: You're one of them.
Fourth, I have a small challenge for you. Today, in school, at work, or just walking outside, pay special attention to your posture and try to hold a smile whenever you see anyone. Make it "stand up a little straighter and smile much more often" day. Try it and let me know if you notice a difference tomorrow.

Crap, is January 25th tomorrow?
If theOtaku was a country, under attack, how many of you would rush to defend its borders from an evil threat?
An odd question. You don't have to answer now, and hopefully you won't ever have to answer.

The contest winners are in. Once they all have their prizes in hand, I can sleep easy and put this convention behind me once and for all.

A few of you have wondered why both Gail and I have been deathly silent about the convention. You need not worry, we'll have a full report...eventually, just not now. Officially we're mum, as some parts of the convention are still transpiring. If you want to piece together your own report on the convention, there's plenty online for you to do it.
My blog, comments on my blog, other blogs outside myOtaku, message boards, etc. I would be interested to see if we have any future private investigators here. Blog it and let me know.
On another note, I am pleased to announce that the fan manga site is growing very nicely:
Page Views Per Day
October: 8,000
November: 12,000
December: 14,500
January: 20,000
