Artpreneurship Review
CosmicSailor received and reviewed my upcoming book, Artpreneurship. Many of you know him as a straightforward, "tell it like it is" personality. Here's the unfiltered review:
The book is very down-to-earth and easy to read. It doesn't have that daunting dryness to it a business book has, and it's not sterile as most "how-to" books come off. It reads much like having a conversation with a knowledgeable friend, and that makes reading it very easy. The examples, anecdotes, quotes and bits of trivia peppered throughout are all relevant and simple to understand. I even found myself asking where did you find some of that stuff for a couple of them. The personal examples are very effective, they show the book was written by someone with experience. Readers will keep going seeing that the author is applying knowlege from his own experiences to the material he's presenting. Especially so the points where mistakes are admitted, those are more effective than thousands of success stories.
In reading the book through, I can see there's a lot of valuable infomation to be had there. The book's material can be applied not only to Art, but to Music, Writing, Photography, or any other field where one expects to find freelancers, and maybe even beyond those fields. I believe It's also possible to adapt the material for regular job interviews as well, and I will be testing that theory at my next job interview, even though I don't exactly know when my next one will come yet.
I'm also coming down with an illness. I feel fine now but I can feel it inching closer...ugh.
