I want to talk a little about emotional triggers tonight. By 'emotional trigger' I mean just that, something/anything, whether it's a photo, a video, or a type of environment, that triggers a sudden, visceral reaction.
Over the course of your life you've accumulated both positive and negative triggers. If you see a certain person's photo you might have a strong negative emotional response; if you visit a certain type of environment it could trigger a strong positive emotional response
I want you to consider the following question:
"How can I decrease or eliminate my interaction with negative emotional triggers?"
For example, if Jade breaks up with her boyfriend, then every item that reminds her of him will serve as a negative trigger. I'd advise her to immediately pack it all away and put it in storage
The difficult part of this question is determining what exactly your emotional triggers are. They're often quite subtle. I'd just suggest paying a lot of attention during your days to see what can shift your mood and then understand why that shift occurred.
