Always Testing, Testing, Testing
Apparently putting a link in a top bar on every page of the site yields a pathetic # of actual clicks. I think people are so focused on the content of each page they just gloss over the stuff at the top.

That was one test I did. In case you're curious, a link at the top of every page is worth exactly 100 clicks. A link on the main page however in a news item is worth 2-3X more.

Then I tested whether a 'sign up' page that's full of text/benefits/etc. would convert people to sign up better than a simple page that shows me sad. The rate was about the same for both of them, so I kept the one that was more fun :).

I sent out a newsletter email today. But sending emails has become so unreliable of late. I'm sure probably 40-60% of recipients won't get it. These spam companies really ruin it for all legitimate people...

Let me know here if you received it!

I'm hoping to find a better service to host our newsletter...and somewhere that won't charge like $1,000 a month :-).

Oh, and if you visit the fan art site...we're back to 8 recent pics. Thanks Massin.
