I meant to tell you guys this a long time ago. J. Miguel is back in town! He's my friend, and he's been in Arizona with his father and uncle. His mother lives here (his parents are divorced), so he's come back to live with her now. He's going to get an apartment very soon, which makes me happy, because then I'll get to see him more.

His full name is (are you ready?) San Juan Miguel Luis Castillo-Chavez.

Insane! I love him so much! I'm glad he's back!

Tony told me to get "my lazy ass" off the computer (he's at my house now, when is he not?). So now I have to go beat him up.

   I've known Emmett for a long time now, right? So, how is it that it takes me this long to realize how funny he is? Maybe because of his idiotic repeats of Patton Oswalt and Dane Cook... but when he's telling his own jokes and such, he's hilarious!

We had such a blast on our "date." He even walked me to the door when he drove me home and gave me a kiss on the cheek. It was so nice!

And now.... ARGH! I don't know what to do.

OOPS! I meant WWII!! My grandparents aren't THAT old! HA HA!

That kind of messes up my story. hee hee.

Lo mein is very good. My mom makes some of that too. We have some chinese food too when she cooks. I think we traded recipes with China a lot. But I'm not sure.

Boring day! Someone give IRC a hug. She said she was crying yesterday.

I'm excited about my "date" with Emmett tomorrow!

Hey!


Now I am back to my original avatar and caption. I like this one best. In a few weeks, I’ll change it again. Always changing, but always the same. HA!

My parents and I are going to the Japanese restaurant and buffet tonight. My dad is a good friend of the manager/owner, so we get a major discount. My mom says it’s better than cooking herself. For the past few days, she’s only been making shabbu-shabbu, and similar dishes, which is good, but not her A-level. She deserves a break.

I’m going to eat so much sushi…

And speaking of dinner and such, Emmett is taking me to lunch on Saturday. It’s kind of a date, but not really, since we’re not really going out. But it is a sign that it’s on his mind. I’ve given up trying to avoid that fact. And if we never go out, I don’t mind. It’s really whatever with me. I’m perfectly fine being just his best friend.

I’m not the type to beg for a boyfriend. I just let life happen. Tony says I’d make a good Buddhist.

Speaking of Tony, we were talking about my name, because Paula isn’t very Japanese. I told him that my middle name is Ai, and he said, “What’s with Japanese people and naming girl’s Ai?” And then he went on to name off every anime he’s seen that had girls in it whose names were Ai.

The only way I can explain why my name is Paula is to explain why my dad’s name is Daniel. My dad’s name is Daniel because they had moved here in the 50s after surviving WWII, and had my father in 1964. The Vietnam War was going on, and it didn’t matter to some people whether they were actually Japanese, because they were still going to call them Vietnamese. So he’s Daniel.

That is news. I’ve kept my word to cool lady cold wars. ^.^

Konnichiwa!

I told Emmett if he told me another Dane Cook joke, I’d punch him in the throat. I absolutely HATE Dane Cook. He is a “bakayaro” as my mother says. He gave me this hurt look, so I kissed him on the nose.

On a happier note: My mother is officially planning a trip to Kyoto for Christmas to visit my grandmother (her mother). I am very happy about this, mainly because I have not seen my grandmother and, if we come, Fuyumi and Soichiro, my cousins the twins, and their parents, my aunt Mimori and uncle Arthur (he’s the Brit that speaks very good Japanese, well, he has too since they live in Tokyo!).

Fuyumi is my favorite cousin, probably because I rarely get to see her. I see Masami about ten times a year, when she comes to visit. Fuyumi emailed me and told me she would take me to a kabuki theater that her boyfriend is working in.

Watashi wa Amerika-jin desu. Watashi wa Nihon-jin desu.
