Truly Regreting...
In retrospect, I have found that I have been cruel, mindless, and quiet about mental situations. I joked about it sometimes, poked fun at those under that condition (which is a rare occassion), and sometimes prentended to be them.
Flowers for Algernon made me realize, this isn't right. And we should value our knowledge, and try the best we could to preserve it. Encouraging education, and trying to help those struggling, not mock them, push them, make them miserable (though I never once thought of doing those things, but I've heard of people who have), might make you and the person you helped feel better.
Sure, it takes patience and guts to put up with them, but they're great people. And this book made me realize that they're humans, too. All hail, Daniel Keyes, the most awesome voice for those who have no mind to speak.
Keep Smiling. ^_______________^
