My start at a one shot... not finished yet...
Tinkling sounds became more audible as light filtered through the stained glass window of an old dilapidated abbey. Silent liquor stained breathes were the only sound in the old abbey where an ancient soul called home. The tinkling noises were the sound of ten wind chimes scattered about the broken windows and rotting down doors of the old abbey. Then slowly the ancient soul awoken with a major crick in her neck and started rubbing her neck to ease the pain of the crick. Last night she drank herself into a stupor and fell asleep were she passed out at. She knew no passage of time or how old she truly was. The only thing real to her was that love came and went, things changed, and she forever stayed the same, forever the fucking same. She was cursed to live an immortal life over the simple fact she murder an angel of God. Her punishment was, until she learned her lesson, was to walk this earth for all eternity or until she made an ultimate sacrifice, then and only then would the curse be lifted and her sins forgiven.

“Fuck you! I don’t give a damn! Let me die and go to hell! I can’t take it the fuck any longer! Just let me die… just let me die!” the tall young woman burst into tears as she rocked herself back and forth in despair.

Crying quite loudly the young looking woman didn’t here someone come into the ancient abbey to see who was cursing in a holy place. The person was a child, a young child with golden hair and big brown eyes. She was out playing in the meadow near the abbey when she heard a woman’s voice cry out in a lot of pain. Curious the small girl stepped in to investigate.

“Don’t worry Lucy just a quick peak. Your mom will never know. Courage… yes you must have courage.” the tiny child said to herself as crept closer to the sound of the crying.

When Lucy finally reached the sound the only thing that stood in her way was a huge wooden door that looked like it weighed two ton. Frowning, yet not giving up the small golden haired girl pulled with all her might to open the door, for she wanted to know who was in such pain and despair.

The ancient soul heard the sounds of someone trying to open the door to the room where she passed out in. She felt anger at whomever it was that was disturbing her place solitude and jumped to her feet and ran to the door. When the tall woman reached the door she threw it up with the intent of cursing whoever it was.

Lucy jumped back as the door swung open wide and fear filled her small frame. For what stood in the door way had to be the devil himself… or her really. Long dark hair hung raggedly around her overly pale face and she was very tall and thin. Her eyes had no color what so ever. Those eyes were pitched black… Lucy couldn’t even see the pupils they were so dark. The golden haired girl let out a scream as the tall demon looking woman walked towards her. She was so frozen in fear she couldn’t move an inch.

“What in the hell are you doing here! Go the fuck away you trespasser! I said go the fuck away or didn’t you hear me you little wet nosed brat!” the dark woman bellowed at the child who bothered her moment of miserable solitude.

Lucy was afraid and didn’t know what to do. The tall dark woman frightened her with her foul odor and dark looks. Yet, out of know where felt an inner strength build within her. The small blonde haired child knew that this woman, broken as she was, needed a friend. For she was awful lonely and sad, gathering her courage Lucy stood up ran over to the woman and hugged her fiercely.

“My name is Lucy!” she cried out as she buried her head in the thin woman’s stomach. “Please… don’t be sad any more! I will be your friend!”

Arms limp at her side the woman spoke, “My name is Seraph.”

Not sure what else to say Seraph to one long fingered hand and placed it on the small child’s head. Stroking the golden hair softly Seraph looked down on the small child who so brave to even touch her damned self. Eyes watering the dark haired ancient turned her head away to make sure that Lucy didn’t see her tears.

Feeling the soft touch of the strange lady named Seraph, Lucy stood completely still until she felt small sobs rack the woman’s body. Looking up she could see that she was crying again.

“Don’t cry Seraph. I am here now. I will be your friend. You won’t have to lonely and sad any more.” the small child exclaimed as she smiled brightly up at Seraph.

“I will only hurt you and cause you pain little Lucy. My soul is damned and I am not fit to be anyone’s friend. God cursed me to live forever, yet everyday I want to die. I have lived for so long… suffered for so long. I just…” catching herself Seraph looked down at the child.

She felt anger once again fill her. Why is she telling this little brat about her past? Why is she even bothering? Lucy will only die like all the others. She is a mortal and a child at that. With those thoughts in mind Seraph undid Lucy’s arms around her and shoved her back, yet, not hard enough to hurt her, just enough to get her point across.

“Leave! Get out! I don’t need any friends you here! Just go away and leave me alone!” the dark ancient cried as she drew herself up to her full height.

Lucy just stood there transfixed at what she saw. The woman was nice one minute and then all of a sudden lashed out in anger at her. She didn’t understand what this lady’s problem was, but she wasn’t leaving. Her mind was made up, Seraph needed a friend and that friend was her!

“Did you not hear me!? I said get out! If you don’t get out now… I’ll… I’ll kill you! I will kill you like that angel…” before Seraph could finish Lucy burst out in her own fit of anger.

“Lookie here miss I don’t want to have any friends cause my soul is damned! Just because you did something wrong and was punished for it doesn’t mean you have to punish others be tossing them aside! I want to help and be your friend! So what if you are dark and scary looking! That doesn’t matter!” with that Lucy began to cry her own tears and ran over and hugged Seraph once more, this time tighter than before so her arms could not be unwrapped around Seraph.

The tall dark ancient was shocked. No one ever talked back to her in such a manner. All the others in her past were afraid of her, afraid what she would and could do. Yet, this one small child had the courage to over look what she was and accept her whole heartedly. Why God? Why?

With those thoughts Seraph began to cry again, this time in anguish and in deep sadness. The tears kept coming and this time Seraph did not turn her face to hide those tears. This is just like him to do this to me. Send a child to me to become my friend and companion. I hate you even more now. Do you hear me? I HATE YOU! You know in my heart I have always wanted children and that I am attracted to their innocence, since you decided to take mine away with that damn angel of yours. HOW FUCKING DARE YOU! Seraph thought to herself as she let the child hug her until her tiny arms gave out.

“There, there now, all better.” Lucy said on a soft smile.

“I don’t know why you want to be friends with me Lucy. I really don’t, yet, I will accept your friendship. On one condition, tell no one that your friends with me. I am not exactly the most liked person in the world.”
