Hello everyone.
I would like to apologize to anyone if I had given them the "cold shoulder" or "silent treatment". This week has been hectic, and this weekend wasn't any better. And I may have gotten short with people. So once again, I'll apologize.
Now, to update on what went down this weekend. Some of you know that I am in the Air Force National Guard where I live. I go to my assigned base one weekend a month/once a month. We call this weekend a "UTA" or "Drill (weekend)". That was what I did this weekend. I had to wake up at five in the morning on both Saturday and today (Sunday)..which is the poopy part of the job.
How do I like being in the military? Well, it's a love/hate relationship. I like it, then I don't. I like the job I do, but I don't like certain aspects of the contract. But it will pay full tution up to a Bachelor's degree and they pay me to go to college, so I won't complain.
The most pain (at this point in time) is the training. Not the hands-on training; I'm talking about the books. After an airman comes back from BMT (basic military training) and tech school, they go through a series of CDCs (Career Developement Courses). Those are, and this depends on your job, books that have everything, and more, you learned in tech school. I have six. My tech school was eight months. I have eight months of already compressed schooling into six, one-inch thick books.
Yay. I had to test on volume two today. It was rough, but I passed...barely. So, next month I'm retaking the test. And I will do much better.
That was the extent of my weekend..well, some of it. But, I won't bore you with other things.
