Oh my gosh the concert last night was amazing. I was so grateful to be able to be a part of it!
So we played Russian Easter and Caprichio Italiano first, and that went really well. Even at the concert I played all my songs better than I did at the rehearsal only hours before! Then we played Tchaikowsky's Piano Concerto, and we had a lady come in and play the piano part, and she was simply amazing. She had the entire thing, all three movements, memorized. Memorized! That's a ton of music! Cadenzas and all. It was so amazing. That's the only way to put it. I had so much fun, and I found out that I have to audition in the fall anyways, but my apprenticeship will continue all next season, until the last concert of the 07-08 season. I'll get paid in April next year, at the last concert. I'm so excited! And I made Chamber for next year. My orch teacher redid the entire system. He did away with freshman orch, but will still have three orchestras: Chamber, which is the big orchestra that cares about how each and every note sounds; Sinfonia Orch, which is the people who care about every note, but can't make it in to Chamber for whatever reason; and, to put it bluntly, the sucky orchestra, for the people who really don't care, but are in it for the credit. I'm so excited! I'm playing with the adults! Good music, like the stuff they record! Aaaaaack! *hearts float around head* Hope you guys had a good weekend! Did you do anything special? Are you achieving any goals recently, or are close?
