I need some Serious help, guys
Alright, I need some help with a problem that has arisen in my life. One of my friends has slid into a state of depression. This person, who may or may not be on theO, texted me earlier today and I learned that they had done something serious, but for privacy reasons I will not state it. It scared me half to death, and I could hardly think of things to say, and the only thing that kept our convo short when this person called me was this person's mother telling this person that they were needed.

All I know about suicide prevention is to keep talking to them if they contact you, and to keep supporting them, and above all, listen and be there for them. I am thoroughly scared for this person, to the point where I went to my room and cried, I was so scared.

PLEASE- if any of you have any suggestions on what else I can do, I would greatly appreciate them. I don't know much about this side of this person, but I want to be there for them as much as I can, until I know exactly how bad it is.
