♥ Vampire Hearts Part 8 ♥
"What is this place?" she asked cautiously looking around. "Don't freak out, but it's part Sianali territory. I come here all the time, I practically lived here when I was younger." he said, resting a hand on her knee. She flinched and pulled away. "Do you know what would happen if I was caught here? By my family and or yours? They could kill me!" she said, panicking and starting to get up. Koga stood up fastly and stopped her from leaving. "Your ok. No one knows this place exists. We¡¯ll be fine in here. Trust me." he said, looking in her eyes at the last part. Nari stood there then nodded. She felt her neck, but it was smooth except for small scars the shape of Koga's fangs. "A scar for a scar, a cut for a cut, a bite for a bite." she said under her breath and Koga laughed. "Something like that..." he said and rubbed the back of is neck.
"It looks like you have a hickey!" he said, laughing a little. "You're the one that put it there so be quiet. You had one the other day too." she said, slightly giggling. It was starting to get dark, but neither of them moved to leave. Koga sat against a tree, his legs stretched out. Nari, feeling mischievous, sat on his lap facing him, her legs bent at the knees which were at his waist. She lightly put her hands under his shirt and put her hands on his firm stomach, leaning forward into him and resting her head against his chest. He scooted her closer and put her head on his right shoulder. The stars were starting to come out, the moon cast blue light everywhere.
"I didn't think I would want to stay here¡¦" she whispered into his neck. Koga smiled and kissed her neck lightly. "What changed your mind?" he asked softly, though he already knew part of the answer. "You¡¦actually getting along with some of "the five"...not feeling like a freak anymore..." she said in reply. "What do you mean, not feeling like a freak anymore?" he asked, putting his left hand on the small of her back. "All vampires in Europe want, or at least most of them, is sex and drugs. But it's different here. No one's getting high, or stoned off their asses. There's no sex parties and drinking until you pass out. We're free to be "normal" teenagers." she sad. "What ever "normal" means." Koga said, making her laugh a little. "My dad..." she said so quietly he almost didn't hear. "What about your dad?" he asked softly as she sat up and looked sadly at him. "He's the reason I can't go in there..." she said, a tear rolling down her cheek. She quickly wiped it away. "What happened?" he asked, putting his right hand gently on her cheek. "He died...in there...then they buried him where he was..." she broke off there, furiously wiping away tears, but they kept silently coming. "Where he was murdered. They buried him 10 feet from where he was killed." she said firmly but in the end her voice broke.
Koga pulled her close to him. She cried into his chest silently, softly gripping his shirt. Koga softly rubbed her back. "I saw it all..." she said quietly. "I can't forget it...it won't go away..." "I'm sorry¡¦" he said as she straightened up. "No...I'm sorry...I shouldn't have come...I shouldn't have done this to you..." she said and moved to get off his lap. He pulled her back down and looked in her eyes. "You did nothing wrong...my mom's in there too...same thing happened...I saw it all happen to her too...but I need to go in there...to talk to her...I can't give her up..." he said, keeping fierce eye contact with her. A tear spilled onto his cheek. Nari looked away from him. "No...look at me...Nari...look at me..." he said in such a strange tone, as if needing her to. Nari shamefully looked into his eyes again. "There is nothing wrong with you not being able to go in there and me being able to. There's nothing wrong with that or with you or with me. Do you understand?" he asked. Nari nodded her head yes.
