We've Died to Dumb and Dumber
You know what I realized in the random thoughts by my bed... our humor completely describes our generation.
Just look at the movies we find "humorous," Dumb and Dumber, American Pie, Supertroopers, etc etc. I don't think anyone alive can disagree with me when I say they are all exessively STUPID movies. People know they're stupid, that's why they watch them!
Someone who used to go to our school once said, "I don't want to THINK about what I'm watching! I just want to laugh at it." That's exactly the way we are becoming... no one wants to think about anything!
In our day and age, we are actually ENCOURAGED to be this way. We are all about feelings, not thought. We are told to express our feelings, but we disassociate ourselves from the logical.
Just think... you go to a psychiatrist(sp? - Check me on this one...) and the first thing they ask you on everything is "How does that make you feel?"
You can almost always tell a bad candidate from his adds. If it's all about feeling and emotion and "I'll do what I can to make you feel good," then he's, most likely, a bad candidate, because he doesn't WANT you to think about how good he'd be for the country, just make you FEEL like voting for him.
It's not always true, though, because, I suppose, the good candidates who want you to logically consider them can't compete with their opponent because feelings seem to be all people respond to these days. So you're FALLING FOR IT!
I guess I'm saying this, because of the election, a little, but mostly just because it annoys me.
Think about your decisions and look into the opponents stances before you seriously vote (because I can't... haha). I just know that the "I hate Bush" campaign isn't logic, it's emotion (yes folks, hate is an emotion that clouds your judgment). I'm not saying you shouldn't vote for Kerry, though I am a Bush supporter, but THINK about it before you vote for him. Make sure his views are yours... because too many people think one way and vote another.
Sorry folks. My sermon went long... but good luck and vote smart.
God BlessED America. Don't screw it up now.
