Yeah...
You, know the one thing I should kick myself for is not updating very often here. I get lazy or distracted, but I've finally decided to let you all know what's going on. Well, first I have started a statewide anime club! Its called Red Rock Otakus! The concept of it is that it can help people find other otakus in their area. So then they'd make like little hang out groups within their towns. However, they'd still be a part of the larger, statewide anime club and would therefore be capable of speaking with anime fans of different groups of different towns. Sounds confusing? Yes I know. Recently I came to realize that there's something already similar to my club. It's called "anime meetup." Now, I dont know how I can compete or compare besides the fact that they are an all United states system to help otakus meet eachother. Mine is just for Colorado, and therefore I hope to have people create strong friendships and not just meet people like "anime meetup" does. Plus we get to have a logo for our club, which I can get printed on shirts, hoodies, cups, chopsticks, ect. I hopefully should have a homepage for the club up soon. It'll be there that I'll have an application that everyone can fill out to join the club. Why I'm going to have an application, I dont know. I guess it's just to know people better, but I wont turn anyone away, regardless of whats on the application. So I hope some of you join when I get it up and running!
Another great thing happening, is the Cherry blossom festival this weekend. Where else can you find Japanese cuisine, culture, and merchandise all in the same place in Colorado? Its only once a year for a two day weekend. I believe its free to go, but of course you'd want money with all the market thats going to be there. They're selling Kimonos, paintings, anime stuff, food(obviously) and much more. Entertainment includes Dances, Karate, Judo, Kendo, Taiko drummers, ect. So if you have nothing to do this weekend for father's day, go on down to the Cherry Blossom festival in Downtown Denver. Check the website out here: http://www.tsdbt.org/cherryblossom/
And lastly, for this year's anime convention, I was hoping to go with friends as the Miyazaki Heroines, but they pulled out. So now, I have to come up with a new costume idea. Well, actually I already have one. I plan to go as Jubei from Jubei-chan: the ninja girl. Im going to have to be running on all cylinders though, because this year,Im bringing about a handful of newbies. Feel free to join us if you like. The more friends you go with to the convention, the funner it is!
Well those are my updates for my absence. Catch you later...
