   What would you do if...?
I have a character in a story I'm writing, and he has a problem. He likes a girl who is in love with his brother (er, yeah...). But the more immediate problem is that there's someone who keeps trying to hurt the girl. There's this really tall, very ugly woman who attacked them in the street and yanked this girl's shoulder out of its socket. If you were him, what would you do?

Details are too much to put into posts. The story is nearing 60 pages now.

Scio me nihil scire - I know that I know nothing. Certain knowledge cannot be obtained. (Socrates)

That's one of my all-time favorites. If you claim ignorance, you don't have to worry that people will be disappointed.

   Geesh it's hot!
I think you could fry an egg on the sidewalk right now. I am seriously thinking of jumping into the swimming pool with all of my clothes on. Ack!

Yeah. I was trying to think of something to make my posts more interesting, but the only thing I could think of is that I write, but my stuff is very action and dialogue driven, so that would NOT work to put it in posts. Once again, Ack!!

Bovina Sancta! (Holy cow!)

   Costume for Oni-Con update
Well, I've gone and done it. I have now spent twenty more dollars on fabric. Will it never end? I am not really getting annoyed with it, except for the mask part. I've figured out a way to do it, I just have to go out and get the stuff.

I have enough resin, mold release, and catalyst to make the mask, but I will need some other things. I need to find a round mold big enough to accommodated my face, and I'll be needing flexible masking tape, an exacto knife, spray paint, and acrylic sealant.

The only problem: fire hazard. Resin is a very flammable substance, and I have enough to make a small bomb. Not that I would, mind you. That stuff comes in handy every now and again. In any case, I should be starting on that some time next week.

I just hope that I can stand the smell, and that my landlord doesn't catch me. I could get evicted just for having the stuff in my apartment.

I don't have the energy to actually find a new latin phrase, so I'll go with my favorite.

Et tu, Brutte?--Julius Caesar, Julius Caesar, W. Shakespeare.

Old hat is better than no hat, I always say.

   Anime Radio...and!...Howl's Moving Castle
Yesterday, I got the desire to read Howl's Moving Castle to the point where I drove around looking for it. Low and behold...only Barnes and Noble had it. Well, that's how it goes. I finished it arond 2:30 in the morning. I am very impressed by the direction that Miyazaki took the movie. It is very nearly nothing like the book in many ways. I won't say any more than that, because otherwise, I'll spoil the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it!!

On to the Anime Raio. I think that this is the first thing I actually applaud AOL for. I know, you're probably making a cross with your fingers at your monitor and saying "Back, spawn of Bill Gates!!!" No, I hate AOL with a flaming passion, as they suck a lot, but I'm listening to Anime Radio, and the second ending for Inu Yasha is playing, which is very nice, and Up next is some song from Ranma 1/2, I think. So right now, unless they start playing stuff from Excel Saga (damn that show is annoying as hell), I'll be listening to it for quite a while. OOOPS. Sorry Hellsing. I mixed up you and Ranma! That's sacrilige!

This is just for you, Julius Caesar:

Interdum feror cupidine partium magnarum europe vincendarum (Sometimes I get this urge to conquer large parts of Europe)

   Assassination...?
Well, I have had an offer of assassination now...not for myself, but for that kid. It's the thought that counts, but my birthday isn't until March. I'm going to wait and see what happens with that kid. If he doesn't realize that he's been a jerk, that's one thing, he might be able to be taught differently (he is still young). But if he did it on purpose, then I might have to re-think the offer.

Ah, and I found this earlier:

Mater tua criceta fuit, et pater tuo redoluit bacarum sambucus - Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries

Monty Python in latin...

   What in the world?
Hmm. That kid, the one that called me old posted again, and what's worse is I went to his site and I'm listed as one of his friends...
How the heck does that work? You make an offhanded insult and then list a person as a friend.

   .....html?
Me, do html? Well, I'm attempting to learn it. I am led to understand that it is not that difficult. However, I am generally a neophite (I love that word) at this, so if I go screwing up the site, just laugh at me behind your hands and don't say anything. I'll get it eventually.

and another great latin quote...though I don't know from whom:

Utinam barbari spatium proprium tuum invadant! - May barbarians invade your personal space!

   B-Movie night!
Yay! I figure, since I'm being totally unproductive, I'll watch every B-movie I have!!! I'm kicking it off with Big Trouble in Little China, starring Kurt Russell. Then, I think I'll go with...oh, wait. That's the only real B-Movie I have. I have a C-Movie, but I'm not sure I'm up for that. The PuppetMasters, with Donald Sutherland...a little too much for tonight. Maybe I should go with something else like something happy? Oh, wait!! Is that a Ray Harryhausen movie I see on my shelf?

   Ah. Finished!
Ah. I finished all of the Naruto Manga!! The series is still going on, though. I'll have to check every now and again. Happy to be done, but geesh. I hate how in an entre chapter, it will end just as you're getting really into it! Oh, well. The things I'm anxious about are these: Gaara better not be dead (he was just starting to get interesting), Sasuke sucks (if he tries to kill Naruto again, I'm not sure what's going to happen), and Akatsuki getting hold of Naruto would be a very bad thing.
I'm happy that: Lee is better now--Tsunade rocks!, Chouji and Nehji didn't die, and neither did Kiba, as well as Sakura...well, I still have some hope for her in that she'll get over Sasuke. He's a little punk.

But I digress...

   hmmmm.
Wow. It's around three in the morning. I really got carried away. I'm not sure how much I read, but it had to have been close to twenty volumes of manga. Naruto is a very good series. I really like it. There are some slower parts, but I'm on chapter 217 right now, and things are really getting interesting, though I have to say that right now, I really don't like certain characters that I won't name (chough*Sasuke*cough) hmmm...what was that? Anyway...
