   Girl Anime
I'm not usually one for 'girl anime,' but there are times when I just feel like being a girl for a little while. Up until recently, I was usually the only girl hanging out with three or more boys. That can really warp a girl's feminine instincts!!
But today, I had just finished downloading 24 episodes of Ah!My Goddess, and I watched it. ALL of it. I did do my paper, and I'm nearly done with that, but the anime is a way for me to relax.
After watching so much girl anime in one day, I feel much more girlie than I did yesterday. If this keeps up, I'll be wearing dresses and makeup to class (which is insane in this heat, since I walk 13 blocks to school).
Argh. If I don't stop this and listening to certain songs I've recently been introduced to, I'll never get to sleep.
Good night everyone.

   What a Bust!!
Well, as the subject line might lead one to believe, today was a total bust. I was doing great. I had a good breakfast, I cleaned up a little, and then I was working on my paper, my costume, and taking short breaks. But every time I got into doing anything, especially my paper, the phone would ring. I love my friends, and I really love my boyfriend, but I wanted to scream when I was halfway down page three of my paper and the phone rang. Eric, sweetheart, I love you. But I should have asked you to call me back. After I got off of the phone, I had no desire to do anything. So I read FOUR whole volumes of Naruto, and now my eyes hurt from staring at manga. I just feel kinda drained. I will probably wake up early tomorrow morning (or rather, later this morning) and start work on my paper again. *sigh*
Geez.

Why the devil am I still awake?
Man, and I thought for sure it would be easy to get to sleep after doing DDR for three hours straight. I should have known it would just wire me. Now it's past 3am, and I'm STILL AWAKE. I really wish that I was asleep, though. I have to finish my paper tomorrow so that I can edit it on Sunday with a fresh mind. Why does my head hurt so much? Ah, well. Maybe if I have a little drink, that will knock me out...I need one, probably anyway. The question is, what do I drink? I only have two kinds of liquor in the apartment--creme de menthe (for the wonderful chocolate mint trifle thingy that I make) and vodka. I only use the creme de menthe for cooking and mint-chocolate cocoa. But then, I have cranberry juice, so vodka would work...I am the most indecisive person...
and now, i'm babbling
Shut up~!!!!
ok.

ONI-CON bound. should I work on my costume????
ok. i have stopped messing with my paper for the day and have been playing with Raavhan's music for the past hour. maybe I should work on my haku costume. then I could get my sewing machine off of the counter...
but I don't have the fabric for the pants/shirt!! Eek! Does anyone else think my priorities are a little screwy?
Anyway, I thought I might plug one of my favorite sites. It is a great place to see what some people are doing in the Naruto fan art area.

www.paintpixel.com

I love the work of some of the people there, like the Gaara with the long red coat (i want the coat) and the Kakashi without his mask as an anbu...very sexy. I could go on like this for a while, you know. But anyway. One of my favorites also is the one of Hyuga Neji in the rain. He always seems like such a mean and soulless kid, and the artist, whomever they are, gave him more of a human aspect. He looks like he has emotions other than hate and disgust.

I guess that's enough rambling for now.

You always remember your 'first'...
I was having a discussion with my friend Sam, and she being the Anime Goddess of the Universe, was telling me about anime that I had not seen yet. I got to thinking about my first experiences with anime.

Now, for me, it was like this:

1. Voltron--the original is best.
2. Vampire Hunter D--once again, the original is best, though not to diss Bloodlust...
3.Robot Carnival--still one of the more abstract and odd anime I have seen.
4. Sailor Moon--the crappy American version, with western names and all.

After that, it's all a blur. Anyone want to let me know what they had their first time?

   heaving a sigh of relief!!
Well, must say, the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and I'm getting on with my paper!! I have something like five or six sources, even though I only need five, and I'm not done gathering my info yet.
On a less boring note, I got my Mist Village forehead protector today! That's one step closer to Haku goodness!!! I had to go to the post office to get it, and I sent my little sister her birthday present, too. Hehe. She's really going to like it.
She's a Miyazaki freak, just like me, so I got her a little bag with a forest spirit on it (Princess Mononoke) and she's been wanting Nausicaa of the Valley of the Winds since she heard it was out in the U.S., so I got her that, too. All in all, I think she's my favorite sister. Maybe it's because we look so much alike?

But ANYWAY...!I think the paper thing isn't so bad. But once I'm done with it, I have to whip up a speech (eek. You know how I feel about that!).

Ah, the wonders of being in Graduate School. It forces you to act grown up, even if you aren't quite there yet.

Madness at the Grocery store!!
So now that the hurricane is coming, there's traffic everywhere because people are ninnies. Also, I went to the grocery store down the street, and it was a total madhouse!
It's obvious that people here are not used to hurricanes, but that's ridiculous. It's already downgrading, as soon as it hits land, it will get weaker and weaker. I guess I have a sense for these things since I'm from hurricane country, but really, I have been wrong before, so I'm not holding my breath. I am prepared. But for some reason, I really don't think we'll be having anywhere near the problems that they had in New Orleans, or even in Baton Rouge (*sighs* I'm homesick).

*shrugs*

Waco is nuts.

   So now there's a hurricane
Great. Just when I have more stuff to do than I could possibly think of, there's a possiblility that I might not have electricity this weekend. Great. That means
1. I can't work on my paper
2. I can't work on my costume
3. I can't clean my apartment as well as I would like
4. I'll be bored out of my gourd (I've always liked that saying)
Anyone know of something I could do that doesn't require electricity?

   One down, one to go.
Thank goodness that's done! One of my papers is done, and I'm working on my other one now. I have until Tuesday to work on it. I think I'm going to quit for the evening, though, as I have a massive headache.

I love my friends! They distract me when I really need it!
