   Being Busy

Shit I have to do:

1--thesis
2--being secretary of a student organization
3--projects
4--10 page paper
5--presentation related to 10 page paper...

I'm sure there are other things to do, but at the moment, I'm pretty frazzled, so I can't remember.

Anywho, I'm trying to keep everything balanced. Kinda like one of those tightrope walkers with the pole...

   Wake-up Music.

I listen to crazy music in the morning. What about you?

I like to listen to heavy stuff to wake myself up. Examples (and if you wanna tell me what you listen to, it's cool, but dont' go and make a crazy long list or anything!):

8. Louisiana Lowdown by Cowboy Mouth. Highly recommended. Mentions sleeping through the alarm and drinking beer in the morning (this practice is not recommended, espcially if one has a job interview--or a job, for that matter. Class is different).

Anyway... those are my sleep-deprived rants at 07:32:05 hours! Geesh. Now I know I'm delerious (sp?)...I'm using military time!

   MirrorMask
I just finished watching Mirror Mask, by Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean.

Oh, was it good. It was like watching the City of Lost Children all over again, but nowhere near as depressing! It was pretty, creepy, and funny all at the same time.

   Antilogicgirl's coloring book! #1
Okay. So I said I have Photoshop. Yes, it's true. I've been coloring things lately, without much success (because I'm kind of a perfectionist, and I never like the results). But last night I made my first full background with Photoshop, and it actually looks half decent. I posted it in the Wallpapers section, so you can go to my profile whenever it decides to show up, and if it's approved, which I can't imagine that it won't be.

Basically, I used a rather flat manga panel of Sasuke's head. Yup, Sasuke-fixation rears its ugly head here, too (don't you just HATE that little guy?)... But I digress.

The wallpaper is calle "Alone...By My Own Choice", which is pretty much how I feel about him. He really doesn't give half a crap about anybody but himself. Not that surprising when his entire life has been one about "I want to kill my brother. I want to avenge my clan. I want to smack the crap out of Naruto and escape my fangirls." In that way, I suppose it's okay to want to be alone...

Anyhow,

I'm out.

   Oh....insomnia....such a horrible way to be.
Listening to: Ishtar, Si Tu Ovres Tes Bras
Attempting: to kill time until I'm "supposed" to be up.

Yes...the insomnia. I have not slept, and it's around 6:30 in the morning, on the day after the time change, so yeah, I'm tired. But like I said, I couldn't sleep, so here I am, and I'm downloading anime that I've never heard of.

Yakitate! Japan...I have no idea what it is, but it sounds fun, no? I'll be looking it up later, but right now I honestly don't have the energy. I'll be reading some stuff, and that'll absorb most of my energy. I feel kinda wierd. Wired, too.

Oh. April Fool's Day was the other day, and my name is April, so I was surprised when I got no stupid jokes...but I got them yesterday (go figure). My boyfriend's name is Eric. A friend of mine said something about him being "April's Fool" and I just winced. It was such an aweful pun, I'm not even sure if she was the one that came up with it. It actually sounds more like something my boyfriend would say.

anyhow, I'm starting to ramble endlessly, so I'll stop now.

   Yay! I have my assignment done...
I actually finished an assignment before midnight! Well, I took long enough, because people kept calling me and asking me about what to wear to the conference...I am so not the person to be asking about that!

Anyhow, I'm kinda freaking out. I have the whole conference crap this week, so that means...no internet! Ah, my addiction rears its ugly head again. I got all my crap together tonight, so tomorrow, I'll be putting it all into a bag. And hopefylly, I can be comfortable while I'm there, at least.

I'm working on a new background in Photoshop. I'm not the Photoshop ninja that child of serenity is, so it'll probably be a little cheeseball! I'm still learning, of course.

So, I'll most likely post tomorrow night, and then there will be nothing from me for about a week.

   Record of Lodoss War and my thesis!

Attempting to: finish a paper on bylaws @_@

So yeah, I'm downloading...this time, it's Record of Lodoss War. I haven't heard that much about it, but from what I understand, it's supposed to be pretty decent. If anyone has more knowledge on this subject, please let me know what you thought of it. Most people I know have pretty decent taste (hint, hint), and I trust you guys, so lemme know.

Oh, and just so's you guys know, I FINALLY picked a topic for my master's thesis! It's...oddly enough...War in Museums: Glorification, Villification and the Myth of Objectivity. MMMM. Totally academic, and will have absolutely no practical application! I love being in Grad School!

   Oh, the IRONY
Okay. University bookstores are evil. There was one book I forgot to get, and I was going to get it, but they sent them back to the supplier! Now, I had to get it from Amazon, and...it won't get here on time. Geesh.

The upshot? I'm also getting Journey to the West. It's the Chinese myth upon which Saiyuki, Dragonball, and a bunch of other things are based on. I've been looking for it everywhere, but of course, no one has it. So, where do you go for something like that? Amazon.com, of course. Usually, it costs $44.00 or more, but I got it for $15.47+s/h. So, I'll be reading that over my break.

Mmmm. Carbs. I love them so.

Oh, wow. I got asked today if I'm anorexic. If I am, I must be doing something wrong, because I'm nowhere skinny enough. And the fact that I eat a lot didn't really tip this person off. Munching Skittles, Starburst, and Sunchips in class...are these things that an anorexic person does? Maybe bulemic, but I don't think I'm going there any time soon.

How do you know you're in Texas?

#1--When there's Mexican food in the CHINESE buffet
#2--When you wake up to "A Tear in My Beer" by Hank Williams Junior in the middle of the night, and the neighbors are encouraged to turn the music UP.
#3--When people have bumper stickers that read, "Howdy, Dammit" and it's thought of as cute.
#4--When I talk to someone, and they ask me if I'm "One of those damned Yanks."

(Note: I am from Louisiana, so that is technically impossible, even though I don't really have a thick accent)

I dunno. I'm procrastinating, and those were things that I've actually encountered.
