So I got through my test ok
Yay! my test is done, and everyone loved my presentation. I don't know that it was because of the content. This is what my presentation entailed:
--felt board (like in kindergarden)
--candy
--toys
--play doh

So, I brought things to keep people busy even if it wasn't my presentation.

Yay for distractions!

All sane people should be in bed by now.
Ok. So I have a presentation and an exam tomorrow. I am unprepared for the exam, but way too prepared for the presentation. I don't know about this. Ack.

Anyway, I can't sleep.

Crapit.

   What are your 4?
Blame it all on Grad School. I got home this afternoon, and I was so tired that I fell sleep (around 4:30) and didn't wake up until 7pm. Because of that unscheduled stop in dreamland, I'm still awake, and It's a quarter to four in the morning. I am pretty drained, but I can't sleep! So, I guess it's time for a little quiz!

Assuming that cartoons and such were real, what characters (name no more than 4) would you want to hang out with for a day?

Mine:
--Shaggy from Scooby-Doo
--Jiraiya from Naruto
--Samurai Jack
--Keitaro from Love Hina

Yes, they're all men. What can I say? Shaggy's laid back, Jiraiya's just fun, Samurai Jack's just kick ass, and Keitaro? Sometimes I feel sorry for him, but he seems like a pretty cool guy (not to mention that he likes archaeology, and so do I...though I don't know about Mr. Seta and the turtle civilization).

So, what are your 4?

Sometimes I love being an elderly anime fan.
I was looking back at my guest book entries and old posts/replies. Maybe some of you will remember, back a while, when this kid called me the oldest anime fan they'd ever seen...feh. I may be older than most of you out there, but one thing is for sure. I will NEVER be too old for cartoons of any sort. It runs in my family. My dad used to sit and watch cartoons with us before there was a cartoon network (this was only on Saturdays, of course, when the cartoons were on--early).

I know it dates me, but I really don't care. What's really bad is when I can remember things that none of my fellow Grad Students can't, because I'm the oldest one in my year.

Oh, well.

There are some fun things about being this old and loving anime.
1. no one suspects
2. my anime t-shirts give people a nice shock at a Baptist university (apparently, anime is the devil)
3. I can understand it a lot better now than when I first started watching it at the age of five. Of course, that goes without saying. But now I have said it, so there.

There are some things that no matter how many times I see them, I still smile
Ok. Whenever I'm sad, I just watch this:

redirect_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.albinoblacksheep.com%
2Fflash%2Fnuma.php&rate_form_id=1795&affiliate_

www.albinoblacksheep.com%2Fflash%2Fnuma.php

and I feel infinitely better. It's not mean, or anything (and it isn't sick, either...even though you guys know I have a wierd sense of humor). I just think it's so fun, I can't help but smile. I'll give the guy props for great lip-sync until the video got a little off. Sometimes, I just let it play and play. The song is fun, too, It's called Numa Numa. I think that if I were going to give this thing a rating on a scale from 1-10 for funness, it would rate a 50! So copy and paste, and I hope you have flashplayer.

enjoy!

   Back on the Wagon
Well, the semester is in full swing now. I have 2 papers due this week, and a presentation and a paper due on Monday. I haven't done any work yet tonight. What HAVE I done? I talked to my mom, and worked out for 45 minutes. I am tired, but I feel good. I know that most of the time, those two things don't go together. But right now, I actually feel like my metabolism is picking up speed. Ah, the days of loafing have come to an end.

   Facebook...?
I've been suckered into Facebook. Now, I am connected to 183 people, have almost 50 pictures posted there, and I've done the unthinkable: made a random friend.

Is that wierd? I'm not the kind of person to just message someone out of the blue. At least not when you don't have a screen name involved. I never realized before how much of a security blanket a screen name really is. It gives you a sense of anonimity. Like ringing doorbells and running.

   Happiness is a new costume
I have decided on my costume for the next convention I go to. I'll be going as an ANBU member, with a fisnet twist. Fingerless fishnet opera gloves with black spandex over-gloves that only have a thumb on them are what I've got so far. Those thumb-gloves were a bitch to make. I just finished, and I started at around 11pm (it now being 3:15am) But they're bad ass.

So, from scraps and leftover halloween stuff, I have my gloves. I still need:

--ANBU mask
-- " vest
--sleeveless turtleneck (black)
--capri pants (black) (ohmygod...i need those. ugh.)
--sandals
--fake katana, my real one won't go on the plane with me, no matter what they did on Kill Bill.
--pouch, kunai holster (purchased, now on their way from Hong Kong)
--kunai (gonna make those. the wonders of super-sculpey)

The good thing about this costume is that there's always the fact that I can wear the mask, and not worry about having to look people in the eye. I'm probably just gonna use it as a prop, though.

If you wanna see the gloves, I posted a pic of me wearing them in the cosplay section. Look for the gallery antilogic ANBU, or just look in the Naruto section for recent cosplay.

   Silly Movies
Activity of the moment: Watching Twelfth Night, on VHS. It's one of those movies that's happy, sad, and downright silly, all within a normal two hour spans of time.

For anyone who's never seen it, think:
-crossdressing
-sword-fighting drunkards
-near-slash (but not really, because the girl's in drag)
-general silliness

I love it. Right now, the poor girl thinks her brother's dead. Now they're running from the Duke's guards. Pretty scary stuff...especially thier wierd hats.

Just felt like sharing.

   Lazy day
Listening To: Mura no Matsuri, Saiyuki Soundtrack
Feeling: Lazy. Think...Shikamaru Lazy
Attempting: to have a lazy day around the aparment.

So far, I'm succeeding. It's Friday, my day off. I just got back from museum inspection. Had to look for fire hazards, pest problems, issues of neglect...it was kind of neat, but it brings out the critic in all of us!

Other than that, I'm not doing much. I think I may watch a movie, or some more episodes of Wolf's Rain, which I'm liking more and more, the more I see of it. I swear, if I ever met Kiba, I'd be scared. He's really tense all the time...but he's got his reasons, I suppose.

Anyway, I'm done blathering lazily at you all.
