   Casa des Floaties....RANT WARNING...
Ok. Today was a BAD day. I woke up late, got to school later than I intended, and had a hard time waking up as usual, but that's just the beginning.

I went to my first class, and that was no big deal. I ate my lunch (bad idea, it turns out), and then went to work.

I hope YOU haven't eaten recently.

CAUTION: NASTY MENTAL IMAGES AHEAD.

Today, I was made to work in some of the most disgusting conditions that I have had to deal with to date. Since I work in a museum that has all sorts of materials in it, there are natural history things like fossils and the like, but there are also "wet collections," which are those icky speicmens preserved in jars of alcohol.

That's what I was dealing with today for way too long. I had to take all of these jars out of boxes, wipe them down with Windex (in a poorly ventilated room), and put them in order on shelving. Not too bad, right?

That's what I thought while I was dealing with snakes, large insects, and other creepy-crawlies. Then I got to the mammal speicmens. That meant that there were cute little fuzzy creatures suspended in an alcohol solution, and that these particular specimens have been that way for longer than I've been alive.

Among these distressing specimens were two jars of baby chimpanzees, a little baby rabbit, a squirrel, and then the one that really takes the cake. They had a baby deer--

that's right...Bambi in a freaking JAR!!!

I very nearly lost my lunch and started crying all at once. It was all I could do to focus on the outsides of the jars while I was cleaning them. The bad thing was, I was stuck in that horrible building by myself for the entire time, and I had to wait for someone to come and get me, because I was locked in.

I felt like I was in some kind of horror movie!!!

My stomach still siezes up when I think about it. It's even worse because I have to go back there again tomorrow.

Oh, and the reason for the title of the post is that Casa des Floaties is what that building is called.

Sorry for the length of this post, guys.

:(
