Summer days drifting away, but oh, those summer nights.
There's a little place called Park Avenue here in Orlando that people like to visit. It's full of ritzy shops, pretty parks, and a big lake, and it's all very nice. Once a year they host an art festival that's definitely a lot of fun to go to. They also host movie nights, although the details of which I'm not exactly sure of. I think it's every other Thursday, or the second Thursday of the month, or something like that. But they host it in the park and you can come and watch some awesome, old movie for free on a big screen. They even give out free popcorn. People bring chairs and spread out on blankets and generally have a good time.
Tonight was my first time going. They showed Father of the Bride - the original one, with Elizabeth Taylor. Great movie. I had a lot of fun, and I saw a few people I hadn't seen in quite some time, so it really turned out well. After the movie, me, my sister, and our neighbor Erica went to Marbleslab (which is a wannabe Coldstone) and got ice cream. Naturally, I got a strawberry shortcake (which, by the way, was huge).
Now, it's just past 11:30 and I have the horrible feeling that I'll have to get up and go to work with my dad again. I have so many mixed emotions about working there, and more than ever, I wish I had a car. But when you get right down to it, I won't back out on this because I gave my word, and it's family. And when you mix the two, it's a freaking blood pact. I guess I'm just hoping that somewhere along the line it'll turn fun.
Besides, I have to be responsible some time, right? ^_^;; |

Today's topics include: Hair, Tattoos, Surveys, and Stories.
Tattoos. I've been thinking about this off and on now for about a month. Part of me really wants it. The other part is wondering if it's worth it in the long run. I know what I'd like and where I'd want it - a pheonix, on the back of my right hip.
The pheonix is sort of important to me because it symbolizes a lot of the things I feel very strongly about. Being reborn from ashes; being able to smile during/after a particularly hellish ordeal. Strength, vitality, new beginnings.
After much consideration, I decided on the back of my hip because it's the spot somebody is least likely to see it. Especially considering most jobs will require you to cover up or remove any sort of body mutilation. There's also the fact that I while I may want it to express a certain part of me, I don't want it to completely out there, like say, on my forehead.
Let's discuss this, shall we? If anybody has tattoos, or wants one, or if anybody feels it's ridiculous... lemme know why. ^_^;
Hair. I've pretty much decided that I'm cutting it short. Well, shorter than it has been. And while I obviously wear my hair short anyway, the style I'm thinking of is something new for me, and I'm kind of excited about it. There's this "Paul Mitchell School Of Hair" place nearby that I'm probably going to go to. I can get the same quality cut there I might get from any other salon for an incredibly beautiful, cheap price because they're students. If they screw up, so what? It'll only be like $10 and it'll grow back anyway.
The other thing is that I've been wanting to dye/highlight my hair. Again. I used to have reddish highlights in it, and I sort of miss it. But then again, I'd love to put some dark purple-ish highlights in it, too. Most of my friends say purple, but my parents aren't exactly fond of the idea. They wouldn't pay for it anyway, so that's beside the point. Although, I don't even know if I want to pay for it. So there's that.
Stories. I've almost caught myself up. I have to finish both posts (Laeth E'Thae and BFM), but I can happily say that they're almost finished already (in Word). And besides that, I've started to write a little on the side again, and I haven't done that for about a month now. It may not sound like much, but for me, it really, really is. I feel like the creativity is slowly seeping back into me, and that's always nice.
Sorry, Ben. =P
Also, Kill Adam, anyone? Shy's last post was amazing. I was incredibly sad that it ended the way it did (trying to prevent spoilers here, people) just because s/he was one of my favorite characters, but it does leave a lot open for Volume 2. Which is exciting. So if you haven't already read the end of Kill Adam, I highly suggest going over to OB and doing that, RIGHT THIS MINUTE!

And the scores have been added up!
All right, here are the song answers from yesterday's game. Each one is worth a total of two points: one point for the title of the song, and an additional point for the artist who sang it.
1. "Stellar" by Incubus
2. "In Our Darkest Hour" by Phantom Planet
3. "Hopeless" by Sister Hazel
4. "Mad Season" by Matchbox Twenty
5. "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra
6. "Rebel Rebel" by David Bowie
7. "Falling Away With You" by Muse
8. "Movies" by Alien Ant Farm
9. "Not Coming Home" by Maroon 5
10. "Acoustic #3" by the Goo Goo Dolls
Mimmi is our winner today, with two songs guessed correctly (a total of four points!), once again proving that Badness rocks. In second we have a three way tie between Wondershot, Karma, and terra, who all correctly got one song. Two points are awarded to the three of them, respectively. Be proud, you guys. ^_~
All of our winners will go home with a brand new car! a pat on the back for a job well done.
Congratulations, everybody, and thanks for playing! Come back next time for some more riveting fun when we do another ten songs! Bye bye, folks! |

Because I'm extremely bored and going to bed is just no fun.
Here's the deal: find your playlist, set it on random so that twenty songs come up. Out of those twenty, pick your ten favorite. Copy a pair of lines from each of these songs and paste them in your journal. Watch and behold as people try to guess the name of the song and the artist behind it.
Yeah, I've already done something like this before, but hey, it was fun. Hopefully somebody will be able to guess some of these. ^_~
1. I will hold you close
If you're afraid to fight
2. And if I could breathe
I'd try not to choke
3. A perfect beginning
But why does it end?
4. We don't talk about
The little things that we do without
5. There is nothing for me but to love you
And the way you look tonight
6. Got your mother in a whirl
She's not sure if you're a boy or a girl
7. All of the hopes we cherished fade
Making the same mistakes again
8. Trade it back
Just to throw it away
9. When you refuse me
You confuse me
10. And the least they ever gave you
Was the most you ever knew
I need to work on some posts tomorrow. >_>; |

I need to go to bed earlier or something.
Last night, I went and hung out in a couple grave yards with Jen (my sister), Babs, and Meg. Yes, that's right - a grave yard. It was past midnight and we decided to go take pictures in a grave yard. Rather, I was doing the picture taking, and they were exploring.
As psycho as it sounds, it was a lot of fun. I've always been fond of cemetaries. I can't explain why, but there's real beauty to them, and that's something I've wanted to capture on film for a while. I can't wait to get the rolls developed. ^_~
Speaking of pictures, there are some new ones over at Queen Asuka's OB Picture Site. I highly suggest checking some of those out. On top of that, here are the links to more pictures (of yours truly), all of which have been taken fairly recently (that means sometime from May to now, basically). Rejoice!
Vogue.
Mmm, cake.
At Universal Studios. I'm in the middle, in case you couldn't tell.
Universal again. I have no idea what I'm looking at.
City Walk, outside of Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, obviously.
My sister's graduation party. From left to right around the table, starting with me, then there's my Uncle Maynard, Uncle Paul, Uncle Jerry (mostly hidden), my neighbor Mr. Poole, and then my friends David and Lauren. They also graduated this year.
Just so you know, that thing on my forehead is a glittery confetti piece that says "graduate." Lauren put it there.
At Graduation. Tons more family, heh, and my sister all done up in her robe and stuff. |

Pictures!
Okay, so I uploaded a whole bunch of pictures today over at Photobucket.com under the name studded_tonfa. The pictures are kind of big, but those are actually resized - they were even bigger than that. Are all digital cameras like that or what?
Anyway, go check them out. I might upload a few to Queen Asuka's picture site, as well. Just to spread the love and all.
EDIT: That is, if I can get the stupid site to work properly.. >_>;
Every time I sit down to finish my next post for Laeth E'Thae, my brain freezes, or I get distracted, or something equally lame. It's pretty messed up. Hopefully I'll finish it within the next week, only because there's cool stuff to cover. Yeah. Cryptic. |

If I could make you mine.
I changed stuff again. Not that I don't love Harry Potter, but I thought that my new icon was too beautiful to pass up. What can I say, I'm a sucker for an ill-fated love story. Le sigh.
I went to the dentist today, and got.... something... done. I'm not quite sure what, actually. I think something was capped, but I could be wrong. Alls I know is that they used a big pointy needle to numb my mouth. The shots didn't actually hurt at all - that's something that my dentist is really good at. He's very calm and very smooth, and it rubs off on you. Gotta love that.
However, that doesn't mean that I actually want to see the needle. No thank you.
So the right side of my mouth was pretty freaking numb for a few hours. It eventually wore off while I was playing Mario Party 2 with my sister. I hate that game, but I love it at the same time. I've always thought that I was pretty good at it, but I've come to the realization that I'm not. Not at all. It's either that, or it's just because we haven't played in a very long time. I'm personally rooting for the latter.
Okay, Cowboy Bebop is on. Screw you guys. ^_~ |

My dog is licking our couch.
I've seen the Harry Potter movie three times already. If I see it again, I will implode. I can't sit through it anymore. It's not that I don't like it, but it's just that I have mannerisms that are strongly similar to those with ADHD.. I just wouldn't be able to sit still. The third time (when I went with my parents) I just couldn't get comfortable, and an hour into it I was like, "Oh, shit."
But in other news, not much is going on. Last night I went over to a friend's house to watch The Road Warrior, which is one of the greatest movies ever created. I haven't seen Mad Max, which is the prequel to this, although I hear that the two aren't really supposed to have anything to do with each other besides Max, the car, and Dog.
The production notes on the DVD were quite funny.
I'm very hungry, but we're out of poptarts. Strawberry poptarts are my favorite. I'm not really a huge fan of regular old cereal. If we had Berrie Berrie Kix, however, I would gladly eat it out of the box.
Off to play some Mario Party now. Toodles. |

Spare me.
I hate going to the dentist. I really, really do.
Universal was awesome. Revenge of the Mummy rocks. I got a bit of a sun burn, but it was worth it. Incredibly tired now. Need sleep. Want to sleep in, but stupid dentist destroys all happy thoughts. Snarl.
Harry Potter tomorrow. Bought shirt and pins. Will bring wand. Is big dork.
Is also going to fall asleep at the keyboard.
Zzzzzzzzz... |
