Dankeschon, dahling.
Current Mood: Reclusive..
Listening To: You Think I Ain't Worth A Dollar, But I Feel Like A Millionaire by Stone Temple Pilots. That, and my family having a discussion about our economy.
We're a weird sort of bunch.
I was in a bad mood earlier. Thinking dark thoughts about people. But mostly, I just wanted to find a quiet place where people would leave me alone and let me be. Of course, in the middle of the mall, that's rather hard to do. So it didn't help me much. After that, we went to lunch and met my Dad there, and I was hoping that would lift my spirits a little bit. But instead, he gave us some crappy news - Fed Ex just recently bought Kinko's. This doesn't mean anything to most of you, but to us, it's a testament that Corporate America sucks ass.
My dad worked for Kinkos for years, as an important part of the company, before he "retired" when they merged. And now, they turned around and screwed him over so they could make a better profit. I know that's business, and that's how it is. But it shouldn't be. It shouldn't be.
So that was a bit of a downer. But eventually, by the end of the meal, I perked up a little bit. Very little, but I didn't feel quite as nasty as before. We went back to the mall and tried to find myself that winter coat that I need, and I finally found one. I love it. Also got a scarf and a cool new hat, and later at the other mall (we jumped malls after dinner), I got this delicious pair of red shoes. Score!
What made that trip really nice, though, was that I saw a couple people I haven't seen in a really long time. In the parking lot, I talked to my friend Heather for a few good minutes. I haven't seen her since high school ended, basically. She went to UF, and is doing well, though isn't too sure she wants to be a pharmacist any more. Heh, I thought that was sort of funny. ^_~
I also saw Joey, who graduated a few years ahead of me, and he was really funny. Good laughs, some reminiscing, and all that.
So by the time I got home, I did feel better. Although I'm still feeling rather.. well, reclusive. I'm around people, without feeling part of them. If you get that. Which is entirely good - I'd rather just sit and watch and listen. I don't feel like forcing myself to be social and articulate. In fact, I think I might find one of my new books and settle down somewhere. That sounds good.
Otherwise, not much has been happening. Although my family is still arguing about economics and monopolies and more of stupid corporate business crap. I think it's time to escape. ^_~

Bonjourno!
Current Mood: Getting a little tired...
Listening To: Remember The Time by Michael Jackson. >.>;;
You are...OtakuBoards!
You're a little of everything, and them some. You're definitely a dynamic site--you've gone through six version changes in less than three years, and are eagerly awaiting version 7. You offer discussion on an incredible range of topics and interaction with some of the most intelligent anime and gaming fans around. You're a friendly site, full of community spirit. Some may not agree with your rules, but everyone appreciated the atmosphere you provide.
Which theOtaku site are you? brought to you by Quizilla
Go take Sara's quiz! It rocks my socks!
So on a different note.. how has everybody been doing? I feel like I've been gone forever, and it's actually only been about 24 hours. >.> Which is sort of sad. But hey.
I did go bowling the other night. Moonlight bowling, with some friends who I haven't seen in awhile. You know, they do the ticket drawing thing, and they actually drew my number. So I had the chance to win a free pitcher of beer (they gave me soda instead ^_~) if I bowled a strike. AND I DID!! Jesus H. Christ, it was beautiful!!
That's my story. |

Merry Christmas to all!
It's been a lovely Christmas so far - I hope everybody else is having a blast, too.
I got a ton of cool stuff from Santa, although sadly, no anime. But I can buy that myself - so no real problems. And I got "Much Ado About Nothing" twice, so I'll get to trade in one of those for something else. Rock on. ^_~
Besides that, I got "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind", "My Fair Lady", Muse's "Showbiz", gift certificates for clothes, an orange, socks, a few good books (including Angels and Demons, which is the prequel to The De Vinci Code, and then the Queen of Camelot book I wanted, plus another from Sara Douglas), a calender that my mom made with pictures of me and friends and family, a set of board games (goodness, my roommate is going to hate me once I start to bother her with those), and a squeaky toy!
Oh, wait, the squeaky toy isn't mine. That went to my dog. >.> She doesn't have to know. <.<
So I'm pretty happy with what I got. How bout the rest of you guys? Was Santa good to you? Catch any elves? See any reindeer?
Some of our luminares caught on fire! It was windy, and the candles caught the paper, and you can guess what happened from there. Of course, that happens every year. They're fun to watch burn. It's also fun to run around with those weird lighters and set stuff on fire. >.> Flame on!!
Okay, I've got a Magic game to go to later, so I's gots to get ready! I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! |

You better watch out...
MERRY CHRISTMAS ...EVE!!
Hope everybody's been having a lovely day so far - I finally finished wrapping all my presents, and put them under the tree. They look beeeautiful! Now, we're off to light the luminares in our drive way. My house rocks your socks. ^_^
I wish you all lots of love and joy and all that stuff for the holidays. Be safe and be good - well, marginally, anyway. ^_~ |

Heh heh heh heh.
Current Mood: Tired, head hurts, but I'm happy. ^_^
Listening To: "Sally's Song" from The Nightmare Before Christmas (I've had this damn song stuck in my head all day.)
It's been a long, crazy day, but it's been a blast. ^_^ I woke up this morning at 9:00, which is rather early for me (sadly) as of late. So it was hard to get up, especially considering the lack of sleep I've been getting lately. Heh. So yeah, around 10, I actually started to dress and all that and act like a real person. Went over to my friend Lauren's house, and from there me and some friends went to a sports complex and went ice skating.
You guys, I don't belong on wheels - rollarblades, rollar skates, skateboards - doesn't matter what, either way I'll kill myself. But I didn't fall once today, and I so thought I would. I was actually skating very well by the time 2 rolled around and we left to get some lunch at ... Fazzoli's (spelling? Oh, I don't care.) Baked Ziti, mmm.
Then, after that, we split up with the agreement that we'd get back together later and play board games. My friend Babs and I went and did some Christmas shopping (I'm still not done, if you'd believe it, heh.) before returning to her house. Now, it was like.. 7. We did the board game thing, starting off with Clue, then Trivial Pursuit, and then this game - can't remember the name - where you and your partner have to try and think of the same word when presented with a word. You get a list of six words, and then one of you writes them down and then the word you immediately think of. Then you get thirty seconds for the other person to guess the word you thought up. It's so much fun, and some of the words they give you are, uh, suggestive. So naturally, the game got a bit dirty. ^_^ Good times.
Now, finally, I'm back. Ate some Ramen Noodles, since I haven't really eaten too much all day, then decided to come check out this shiznit. Heh. I'm exhausted, my legs hurt, my head aches, but I think it was all worth it. Gotta love these times.

Good times, I tell ya.
Current Mood: Silly
Listening To: "This is Halloween" from The Nightmare Before Christmas Soundtrack (tony rocks)
Last night I had a blast. I'd like to thank everybody who was there.. ^_~
Okay, actually, my brother had some of his goofy friends over to spend the night, and so I got to act more childishly than I usually do. Good stuff. We went bowling around 11, probably, and let me tell you, I did not do well. Heh, my highest score was like a 76 or something. Not too pretty. It was fun though, except the music they played was king of crappy. One of the best parts about late night bowling is that they are supposed to play fun music, and they let me down. Aloma Bowl, you let me down!
After bowling, it was something like one in the morning, so we turned on some kickin' tunes and tore up the floor, yo. I am the dancing queen. Then, like all good children, we decided to play flashlight tag. Now kids, I kick ass in flashlight tag. I know where all the best hiding spots are and I have to come out of my spot because no one can ever find me. You can't touch this.
So anyway, cue some fun chase scenes, Joel tripping over the basketball hoop and probably damaging his internal organs, Anthony stepping in water.. yeah. Eventually we went in and had some hot chocolate, then I watched All I Want with Elijah Wood and Franka Potente, before going to bed this morning around 6:30.
This looks like fun, this looks like fun! Hehe, oh Jack. What a freaking great movie.
Today, we're making cookies. We're actually going to do it. No, seriously. We are. |

Aha ha!
Okay, too many posts in one day, but I've got some terrific news. For me, anyway. I just pre-ordered the new Phantom Planet CD called... "Phantom Planet", along with "The Guest" for a nice deal. And not only that, I also get it signed. Joy!
It's my Christmas present to me! I'm so happy!! |

Eh, your mother.
Current Mood: Ambivalent
Listening To: So I Fall Again by Phantom Planet
Actually, I don't know if that's what the song is called. I don't have the titles, unfortunately, and usually I remember track numbers before anything else. Go figure.
Does anybody else ever go through little periods where they just feel like insulting people? I don't feel like being nice at all right now. It's like one of those moments where you're talking to a person, trying to be polite, and inside you're thinking the most insulting, degrading things about a person ever thought of in the history of man! It's all kind of weird, actually. Though I think perhaps we all get to be a little bitchy now and then. It's probably good for me, who knows.
I've recently been in a Phantom Planet kick, as you can see by the last couple updates. I was listening to them a little last week, and have basically had them stuck in my head since then. Gotta love that. And hate that, actually, but hey, they're a wonderful band. Very funny pictures. I hope one day they'll come somewhere near me during a tour. I'd love to see them in concert.
You know what else I hate? Being disappointed in people. I wonder if I have a tendency to set standards too high for some people... then again, I set them too low for others. But I think mostly they're pretty high. Now, the real question is, do I care enough to actually change that? Hmm.
I did get to talk to my friend Babs today while we put up lights. That was nice - she's been working her ass off lately, but she bought herself a car, so it's obviously paying off. I think we might go shopping tomorrow.. er, today. That'll be a blast - fear our dorkiness! Bwahahaha!!
Okay, I'm seriously just losing it. Time to go to bed. |

I'll get you, my pretty!
Current Mood: Mellow
Listening to: "California" by Phantom Planet
Obviously, I watched The Wizard of Oz the other day. I love that movie. Good times.
I realized that I'm not doing a whole lot lately, RPG wise. Kind of sad, considering now I actually have the time to be silly and join thousands. But I've actually had a few ideas for new ones, as some people already know. Something I've been working on (though not as much as I should be) with Gen. Hopefully that'll work out, and hopefully I won't make it too horribly complicated. Heh. Another idea I got by listening to a song called The Jack of Hearts by Bob Dillan, and I've been fiddling with that a bit, too. We'll see what happens with that. I might pull a Piro and not do anything with it for a year. Hee Hee.
Laeth E'Thae. Yeah, I finally got around to editing that last post, but I don't think much else is going to happen with that. I won't consider it "dead" yet, but as it is, I think I did all right for a first-timer. Not as well as I'd hoped, but as I've said before, I know so much more now. I've grown! *sniff* It's so beautiful!
........right, so my lack of sanity aside, things are well. We finally got our Christmas lights up today, lol. Went shopping for cookie ingrediants, and I guess tomorrow is the official day when we start baking. That, or Sunday. We keep moving it. Either way, I'm looking forward to those Chocolate Marble Cookies, or whatever they're called. They sound fantastic. Yum.
I really wish I had something intelligent or witty to say right now, but my brain's all fuzzled. I need to go to bed earlier, wake up earlier, and not sleep as much. Heh. Yes. That's the plan. (Yeah, right.)
Um, ...that's all. |
