Phooey.
Guys, bad news. I'm getting sick. It's been getting progressively worse all day, and I'm officially declaring myself ill as of right now, this night of the 17th of November. It's not really that bad, actually, but it sucks to go to class like this. At least it happened after the concert, however. I am thankful for that little bit of heaven, at least.
I also listened to Konstantine about fifty times today, and I cried listening to it about half that amount. At first I thought it was just the beauty of SoCo, but then I started playing a little Dashboard Confessional, and it all went downhill from there. I realize now, in an epiphany of tremendous proportions, that it's probably just a sign that my period is about to start. You know. The whole emotional, crazy hormones thing. Little things are stressing me out, too. Stupid little insignificant things that really don't matter at all. And yet it's a flaw in my plan, a crease in the paper of my life, and that drives me nuts.
On top of that, I've got to wake up early and register for my classes. I had a bit of a scare with that earlier but thankfully it's all straightened out now. Anymore little surprises, though, and I'll just wig out. Which is so not cool.
Basically, I just need a good nights sleep and plenty of vitamin C to keep me going. And maybe some Nyquil, medicine of the gods. Either way, this means I'm going to bed now. You kids be good while I'm gone. Don't cause any chaos. |

Yesterday was one of the best days I've ever had. This weekend, in fact, was just beautiful. I'm so glad that my friends got to come up and chill with me, and best of all, we all went to the SoCo concert together. But let's do this chronologically, shall we?
Friday
My good friend Jen was the first to arrive - she knocked on the door with Leigh, who lives on the other side of my floor, and I made a noise similar to that of "Weeeee!!" We caught up a bit, and Jen told me her fascinating road stories. One of them being that she got lost and drove to Georgia cause of bad directions. O.O;; Let's just say she took the scenic route from Gainesville. Yes, she's a Gator. Grrr.
Anyway, we were pretty hungry around 6:30, which was when me mother, sister, and other friend were supposed to get in. Of course, they didn't leave on time, so me and Jen went to MoMo's, where we ate pizza slices as big as your head. And let me just say that you don't realize how big your head actually is until you eat at this place. Before we went to MoMo's though, we stopped off at some friends' of ours place and got an invitation to go to a bonfire later. Sweet.
Finally, the mother got in, and many hugs later, we made it up to my room. We chilled for a bit, listened to SoCo (getting pumped up for the concert that was Saturday), before piling into Jen's car and driving out into the freaking boonies where the bonfire was. I've never been that far out of the city, so it was new for all of us. Eventually we turned into the woods, down some dirt road, and we all fully expected the car to break down and then be attacked by banjo-playing psychos, but thankfully we made it in one piece. The one good thing about the boonies is that there are no lights whatsoever, so the entire sky was lit up with stars. It was absolutely beautiful. It was near a lake, too, and despite the frigid temperature, it was such a blast. S'mores and pyromaniacs galore..
Saturday
I woke up before everybody else, which is weird cause I usually am the last one up. Granted, it wasn't exactly early or anything, but hey. Everybody woke up when I started playing the End Of The World thing, cause I was showing that to Babs.. and that was a good start to the day. ^_^ We joined up with Chris (one of said friends from before) and his dad, and tailgated - it WAS Homecoming, afterall. Craig (other said friend) joined us later, and we had us a good time. But we didn't have tickets for the game, so instead we went to Smokey Bones and watched both the FSU game and the OSU game on the TVs in there. Both my teams won, baby! Oh yeah! Although.. when that fat guy intercepted it early in the FSU game, it was kind of embarrassing... though it was oddly humorous to watch him woddle in for a touchdown. Either way, none of them are going to let me live that down.
After that, we headed back and got ready for... the concert. The best damn concert ever. We got there mad early because I wanted to make sure we got up in the front, and we did. Damn straight. Three bands came on before SoCo did, and they're all pretty good. Days Away played first, and I think they were kind of pissed off because not many people were really hyped up. Well, I danced, but any band that curses the audience sucks. So they screwed themselves over in my book.
Mae was next, and since half the band was in the hospital with fevers, they just played acoustic songs. They were awesome. Beautiful songs. I need to look more up about them cause I really enjoyed that.
Rx Bandits were the third band up, and they have SO MUCH ENERGY! Holy shit, that was crazy. They had some mosh pits going, but it wasn't anything too serious. Though I'm not real big on mosh pits, and lemme tell ya, it's hard to enjoy the music when people are pushing the hell out of you.
And then... at about 11:30... Something Corporate came on. As soon as they hit the stage, there was much screaming. And the first song they played was Fall, and it was like all bad feelings disappeared and the sun was shining brightly. Everybody was jumping around, pumping their fists in the air, screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs. Trust me when I say that You Will Never Have So Much Fun In Your Entire Life. They played songs from both albums, and a couple songs - including Konstantine - that aren't from any albums. It was beautiful.
Now for all the funny/stupid moments of the night. First on the list - there was this idiot drunk guy who pushed his way to the front, practically climbed on top of me and this other girl, and got onstage. He was taking off rather quickly, but then some other security staff man came over and stood there the entire time. I understood why, but he's still an ass whole.
One of the reasons why I love SoCo so much is after two songs, Andrew stopped and told every one to calm down. If you've ever seen the band live, you know they're wild. He stomps on his piano, plays with his feet, and climbs all over the place. But at the same time, he cares for the fans and doesn't want anyone to get hurt. And him doing that was just perfect. They're just awesome.
What else, what else. Oh, they're also a FUNNY band. They drink on stage, and they kept trying to take bottles away from William Tell, but he kept getting more. It was hysterial. Somewhere near the end, William takes his shirt off, and the girls erupt in cheers. Andrew stands up and says something like, "I want it to be known that I stand against this! All you girls are happy now that William's naked, but us guys know that this is bullshit! Right guys?" And of course, all the guys are like "YEAH!" It was so funny.
Andrew also crowd dived.. sort of. But the best part of that is that it was right on top of me. ^__^ Inside joke here, but my friend Patti in Boston would have been very proud of me and Jen. Heh heh.
To add to the excitement, a girl passed out on me. She was right in front of me, and thankfully it was right during the very end of the last song, but it was scary. And when I say on me, I'm serious about that. I caught her under her arms (she was actually smaller than me, which is quite an accomplishment), and she wasn't moving. So I started hitting her cheek and telling her to get up, wake up, don't go to sleep, etc. Finally, she did, but her eyes weren't focusing and her lips were white and all that. Me and the girls around us kept trying to get this staff guy's attention so she could get help, and he kept shaking his head, like he thought we wanted guitar pics or set lists or something. After five or so minutes he finally noticed that the girl looked like shit, and he came over and pulled her up. She ended up being alright.. just majorly dehydrated and all that. It was freaking hot in there, I can tell you that. Before I left I noticed her and one of her friends sitting on some steps by the stage so I went over to make sure she was alright. Definitely the first time that's happened to me, but I think I did pretty well. ^_^
I got two shirts and a hat, and they're so pretty. And I got my ticket signed by Andrew, Brian, and Josh - my three favorite. I also got a picture with Brain (....mmm....), and a hug from him, so the night ended quite nicely. My friend Jen has the camera, though, so I'm looking forward to seeing the doubles. Oh yes, yes I am.
Later, we dropped by Chris and Craig's again - they had also gone to the concert, but we were way in the front, and they were in the back, so we didn't see each other. They played on their guitars for awhile, and that was pretty cool. Every one was getting pretty tired, though, and I know I was exhausted (and my feet hurt like a bitch), so we headed back to my dorm and crashed.
Sunday - today
We woke up late again, and I was the first up again. Everyone packed up and got dressed, and Jen headed back to Gainesville after many hugs. Then me, Babs, Jenny (my sister), and my mom went out to eat breakfast at Shoney's. They left about an hour ago, probably. And so that's that.
All in all, I had fucking awesome weekend that will live in my memory FOR - EH - VER!! That's a little Sand Lot for yah. Right. I also did something to my finger, though, and it hurts like a bitch. Under the nail. I don't get it. Oh well.
I miss everybody already though. T.T It was so good to see them again and hang out like old times. I can't wait till Thanksgiving when I can go home again. I'm beginning to realize that the more often you go home, the more you miss it. It's weird. True story, though.
Anyway, my finger is starting to throb, so I should stop typing. But I want to leave you with some of the songs they played.. so if anybody has seen them, or is going to see them, look out for these fun tunes (not necessarily in this order):
Fall
I Woke Up in a Car
Drunk Girl
Only Ashes
Space
Me and the Moon
Ruthless
Konstantine
Some other song that's not on any of the CDs.. I can't remember which one.. damn it.
iF yoU C Jordan
Hurricane
I Won't Make You
Walking By ^_^

Home, home on the range..
It's Homecoming Weekend here at FSU, and even though it's still morning, it's about to get really busy. The campus is beginning to wake up.. students will be swarming the Union, soon, sporting our lovely colors and making a general racket. Yesterday there was a definite roar coming from the center of the union, and try as I might to see what the hell was going on, I had no idea. There was just a throng of people, and that god-awful sound... I still shiver thinking about it.
Anyway, I've got a lot of cleaning to do. And laundry. And all that good stuff. I've got a lot of time, but knowing my tendency to procrastinate.. either way, it needs to be done before.. 6. That sounds good. Yes. I should probably call my mom and tell her it's freezing up here, too.. But it's probably going to get warmer, because the weather is fucking nuts.
That's about all I've got. Hopefully I'll get some posting done today, cause I doubt I'll have any time the rest of the weekend.
.....um... go FSU!! School spirit, yeah!! |

Stop stepping on the fish!
I don't know where these titles are coming from, lately, but you know, they make me happy. I've actually been much more spastic and "fucking nuts" (I doth quote) than I have been recently, and I take that as a good sign. Things are finally getting back to normal. Hoorah!!
Or maybe it's just me finally cracking. Both are very possible answers.
Right. Anyway, I grabbed this off of Sara's mO, and she grabbed it from Solo's, I think.. so who really knows where this came from in the first place. But I likes it, and now I will badger you all with it. Badger badger.

Peeking under the stage curtains.
I seem to be in the habit of admitting some personal qualms on here, so I say why stop now? Mush, mush! Onward, little wolf cub!!
(I get called crazy every day. No joke. I think maybe this means something. Some eternal truth. Something... about soda. Buy DeathKnight Brand Soda Today!!)
To be perfectly honest, I'm very, very used to be second best. I always have been. I don't know whether or not I should be furious about this, or about the fact that I've pretty much accepted it now. Granted, I'm kind of exaggerating this to make my point, but the feeling is still there. And being the oldest in a family, you're kind of expected to be the older, wiser, experienced one. Well. I am, in my own right, but as far as grades go, let's just say my brother and sister do better than I do. Which is not to say that I do horribly.. just never better than they do. Sibling rivalry, there you have it!
Of course, it's not like I can't do anything, or that I never get praise for anything. I do, and I did; my last year of high school was probably one of the best years of my life. Not that it's been especially long. I just feel like finally I got some attention; some appreciation. See, I was incredibly involved in theatre all four years of high school. I love acting, but more than that, I was a big techie. Stage work was my thing, "Crew Leader" was my name. It was my job to make sure that the set of any play always got on stage in time and in the right spots, and I worked with (and under) the Stage Manager. Me and that girl were a damn good team, too. If we were ninjas, we would have kicked everybody's asses.
Okay, that was random.
But anyway, if you know anything about theatre, you'll know that techies are often overlooked, despite our pivotal role in any production. Thus, the irony in my life. And I kind of like it. I like being the one unnoticed, the one that holds everybody else up. And last year, a lot of people saw that, and they made me feel really great about it. I miss that a lot. It's nice to be appreciated every once and awhile, you know? Even if it doesn't happen often. Just to know that people care. That's all I need.
I suppose I did this to make myself feel better. Self healing, or whatever they call it. This is actually kind of sickening. I need more insanity in my life, so I don't dwell on this stuff. Mushrooms! Bring me my crown! |

The truth is out there.
It's been a long weekend. I know, it's Tuesday, and not the weekend any more, but I feel as though I'm still suffering from all that studying and essay writing.. and stuff. Thank goodness we have today off, though - Veterin's Day. I plan to rest up, catch up with reading and with the boards.. because I'm mad behind on both. I'm afraid that people may start to hunt me down, soon. I've also got some laundry to do, but at least I've got my cookies to keep me warm and comfortable. Mmm, Mint Brussels..
Just to.. rub it in a little, I didn't even get up till 11:30 this morning. How do you like them apples?
Though, I've been feeling a bit down lately, too. I really miss my grandma. She died two years ago, and it hasn't bothered me, until now. That's not to say I wasn't sad - sad doesn't even begin to describe it, even though we weren't particularly close or anything. It's just.. well.. I just regret a lot, I guess, and I've only just come to terms with all that, I guess. It hasn't been fun, though. Not at all. |

The beginning of the end.
Yes, it's that time again. Time.. to die!!
Well, it's either that or write a paper. Right now, I'm kind of leaning towards the former. >.>;; In all seriousness, though, I don't think this is going to be too excruciatingly terrible.. I mean, I like mythology, it's pretty easy for me. It's just a matter of answering the questions. And considering how well I've done on the tests, I'm not too worried. Not to sound egotistical or anything, but I think anything I write is going to sound better than what half the class turns in. So, yeah.
The biggest thing I have to worry about is relaxing. I have a tendency to overwhelm myself over the tiniest little details. You'd think after years of wanting to kill myself because of this, I would have learned to get these things done with early. But nooo.. I'm a masochist, apparently. I enjoy torturing myself! Yay!
Anyway, I'm off to chat with Aeneas, Herakles, Gassire, and that crazy lute of his. Good times... >.> |

Okay then..
I just ordered pizza, and that was by far the weirdest conversation I've ever had on the phone with somebody I don't know. That's so much fun, though. I'm the room by the pink converse shoe, and when I pay for my pizza, it has to be with somebody's arm and leg.
Ah yes, good times.
Meanwhile, you know I uploaded that new picture? Well, I can't see it. I only see the old one.. it's so weird. All the weird things happen to me. I guess weird things happen to weird people. So if anybody ever asks you, you know. You'll be one of those informed people with all the answers. Psssh. |

Well then.
My mO is acting up again. Oh well. Anything internet related is completely beyond my control, it seems.
I saw some little question in the university paper, or something akin to that, about whether or not you like the state government. I live in Florida guys, so you can take it from there, I'm sure. But I'm have tempted to send in something a little like this:
Dears Sirs,
As I'm sure you and any other student here at FSU realize, our capital building is in the shape of a giant penis. I think that in itself is your answer.
Affectionately yours,
Megan
The end. |
