"Do you copy? Emergency manuevers!"
On iTunes: nothing
Consider this my last post for a while. I'm sure I'll be able to update you all from London, seeing as there will be internet access, but I'm not sure how often that will be, how busy I'll be, and all that good stuff.
Oh goodness, this is so insane. London. Me. In two short days, I will be on the plane, flying over that huge ocean thing to drink tea and eat crumpets and play cricket. I'm so excited, and very anxious, and I've still got lots of packing to do. But I feel pretty good about it, so that's all right.
My brother was in a play recently. He was Rosencrantz in "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead" and he was so awesome. He's totally going to kick theatre's ass, and I'm very proud. *tear*
Today was Jen's first day of classes. I wonder how she's doing. I'll have to give her a call.
So my friend Meg is already in London. Well, probably still on a plane, actually, but she'll be there shortly. I'm flying up with Chris (whom I should probably call).
How am I going to survive without Star Fox?! *faints*
.....ahem. It's been real, guys. Ciao (for now). |

"Caimen here, no problems."
On iTunes: nothing
Crazy online class. Thankfully it's almost over. You'd think after all these dumb essays and horrible experiences with not studying I'd lay off the procrastination a bit. But it is not so! In fact, summer makes it a billion times worse. Screw you, summer, for taking away all my motivation.
Anyway. London is ever so close. Leaving on a jet plane (sing it, I dare you) at the end of the month. A short week away, really. Sweet mother of god, a week. I need to start packing.
Speaking of, we packed up Jen and moved her back into Tallahassee Sunday and Monday. Saw some friends up there, as well, so that was nice. It was a bonding experience for me, her, and ze mother, and then on the way back me and my mom had a nice discussion about boys. I think it was more for her than for me, but hey. Details.
So, I guess all is well on the home front right now. I'm getting a little anxious, but it's an excited anxious, I think. Reminds me that I've got to make some more calls - I'm flying up with my friend Chris, who's going for theatre, and then my dear friend Meg will also be there and I need to get the low down on where she'll be and all that. Lots to do, lots to do, not a lot of time left. Why is this a running theme in my life?
Also, been reading some comics. Mike (the boy) is psychotically into comics and so I've borrowed some of The Walking Dead and The Last Man and they are fantastically good. Wow. It's really very impressive, I'm actually amazed. Great stuff.
Been playing lots of Star Fox again, too. Got some more medals. Trying to get them all before I leave, but I don't know if that'll happen. I want to get the cool sunglasses though. Pout pout sob! |

Oh, I feel it! I feel the cosmos!
On iTunes: nothing
Yo. It's been a while, fo'shizzle. I've been very busy lately, between working and this crazy online class that I have that is totally stressing me out. It's been a frustrating summer in a personal sense anyway. I ended up getting straight A's that last semester, and I came off of that feeling glorious and indestructable, and it took too long to wear off. I am mine own worst enemy, and we'll leave it at that.
Anyway, some of you may have noticed that I am no longer a moderator with OtakuBoards. I resigned. I've just been too busy, and I believe that I will continue to be busy well into the spring next year. It's certainly not fair for me to linger on when I can't put the same time and effort into the boards that they deserve. I used to be able to do that, but le sigh.
I'll still be around, though, so don't worry about that. Just... not a lot in the coming months. That, of course, brings me to London. I would love to set up meetings with anybody who lives over in that area. I'll be there for three months, starting Sept. 1, so message me or something and let me know.
Also, sorry about letters. I'm trying to get back into the swing of that. I'm still at home for now, but come september that address will change again. I'll give that to you guys when the time comes, if anybody wants it.
Anyway, what's going down on the home front, g-dawgs? I've read some good books, been making money, experienced I-Bar (the best club in Orlando, hands down), and I also met a boy. Such fateful words. I think we're in that "talking" phase right now, but I don't pretend to know what I'm doing so let me just shrug and say I'm just going with the flow here. He's so friggin' cool, though. A total geek, and I love it. Finally.
I actually bought purple hair dye the other day for highlights, but it turns out it's the wrong kind. It's the one-time-only kind which is just another way of saying it's crap. I should learn to read the boxes a little more closely. Still, it was cheap, so there's no harm done. I'll end up going over to Paul Mitchell Student Place Thing some time soon and get it all done there. Students, extra cheap, worth the insane amount of time it takes to get it done, I think. Or I could suck it up and get it done at this swanky place around the corner. I don't know, I'd really rather save my money. I've been so good about that cause of London. I haven't even bought any shoes!
So, yeah, that's life right now. Much love to all of you. ^_~ |

*much wailing can be heard*
On iTunes: more nintendo stuff
SAY ANYTHING CANCELLED ALL THEIR SHOWS.
YES, INCLUDING THE ONE I WAS SUPPOSED TO GO TO.
There is a vast hole in my heart, a void that shall never be filled. I feel death's icey breath upon me. Goodbye, good people of theOtaku. Farethee well, and please, remember me as I once was... not as this wretched shell of a creature. Adieu, adieu! Parting is such sweet sorrow. |

Some Wild Nights Right Thur
On iTunes: "Jack and Diane" John C. Mellencamp
I stoled this from Miss Asphilicious, because it looked fun, and she's cool, and I have no real entry for this.
ANGER
1. Who did you last get angry with? Jen, probably (my sister). Or my mom.
2. What is your weapon of choice? I think I can be pretty scathing when I want to be.
3. Would you hit a member of the opposite sex? Yes.
4. How about of the same sex? Yes.
5. Who was the last person who got really angry at you? Not sure. Probably my sister or my mother, heh.
6. What is your pet peeve? People who snap at other people for no reason. Get over it. I also don't like it when people don't wait to see if anybody is getting out of the elevator. They just walk right in. That's cool, bitch. I hope you fall down the shaft and die. (I don't like it when people sneer, either. It's just not nice.)
7. Do you keep grudges, or can you let them go easily? Forgive but don't forget. I think I'm a pretty easy-going person, but it also depends on what the screw up is, how much it matters.
SLOTH
1. What is one thing you're supposed to do daily that you haven't done in a long time? ....hmm.
2. What is the latest you've ever woken up? 4pm-ish.
3. Name a person you've been meaning to contact, but haven't. Lauren.
4. What is the last lame excuse you made? 'I don't have the time' or 'I'm too busy.' One in the same, really. Also see, 'I forgot.'
5. Have you ever watched an infomercial all the way through (one of the long ones...)? No, thank god. I do have some shred of dignity.
6. When was the last time you got a good workout in? I don't know. Work keeps me up and moving, and I shoot hoops a couple times a week, I guess. I miss racquetball.
7. How many times did you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock today? There is no snooze button.
GLUTTONY
1. What is your overpriced yuppie beverage of choice? Starbucks! Easy question. Either the ice coffee or a vanilla bean frappucino. Sometimes I hit up the iced latte.
2. Meat eaters: white meat or dark meat? Fuck that, give me RED meat. RED, damn it!
3. What is the greatest amount of alcohol you've had in one sitting/outing/event? A little bit of JD, a little bit of hunch punch... I can't say how much it was exactly. I wasn't drunk though. I don't do that.
4. Have you ever used a professional diet company? Pffft, diets.
5. Do you have an issue with your weight? No.
6. Do you prefer sweets, salty foods, or spicy foods? Spicy! Yeah, creole!
7. Have you ever looked at a small housepet or child and thought, "LUNCH!"? ..... not recently.
LUST
1. How many people have you seen naked (not counting movies/family)? Zero.
2. How many people have seen YOU naked (not counting physicians/family)? Still zero.
3. Have you ever caught yourself staring at the chest/crotch of a member of your gender of choice during a normal conversation? Many times.
4. Have you "done it"? No. Le sigh.
5. What is your favorite body part on a person of your gender of choice? Hair, back, hips.
6. Have you ever been propositioned by a prostitute? No... but this reminds me of that creepy hispanic-looking guy who asked me if I was married while I was at work. o_O;;
7. Have you ever had to get tested for an STD or pregnancy? Negative, ghost rider.
GREED
1. How many credit cards do you own? None.
2. What's your guilty pleasure store? Barnes and Noble. Or Starbucks. Sometimes two in one!
3. If you had $1 million, what would you do with it? I think right now, I'd buy myself a decent car, pay off London and my student loans, and then put the rest of it away.
4. Would you rather be rich, or famous? Famous, actually. But not "celebrity" fame... I'd rather be respected for what I do, and I'd like people to remember me when I'm gone and think, "Hell, she was something."
5. Would you accept a boring job if it meant you would make megabucks? Yes, but I don't know for how long.
6. Have you ever stolen anything? ....yes. I've stolen... hearts!! Ha ha ha.
7. How many MP3s are on your hard drive? 1,235... on iTunes. And most of those I own, thank you very much.
PRIDE
1. What one thing have you done that you're most proud of? Graduated with honors and/or went to counselling.
2. What one thing have you done that your parents are most proud of? Turning out all right, I think.
3. What thing would you like to accomplish in your life? Asphy said it best: To love passionately, live wildly and laugh forever.
4. Do you get annoyed by coming in second place? Most of the time, yeah.
5. Have you ever entered a contest of skill, knowing you were of much higher skill than all the other competitors? No.. but I have been in a class where I felt pretty damn elitest. Getting perfect scores on all the tests will do that to you, though.
6. Have you ever cheated on something to get a higher score? I've cheated, but I don't know that I've ever gotten a higher score because of it. I'm not very good at it..
7. What did you do today that you're proud of? ....I deposited my paycheck!
ENVY
1. What item (or person) of your friends would you most want to have for your own? I envy my two best friends' relationships... but I don't want their boyfriends.
2. Who would you want to go on "Trading Spaces" with? Meg, Babs, or Alicia. Online... James, Tony, or Dagger.
3. If you could be anyone else in the world, who would you be? Why be somebody else when I can be fabulous me?
4. Have you ever been cheated on? I think I'd need some kind of romantic history for that.
5. Have you ever wished you had a physical feature different from your own? Once or twice... but I got over it.
6. What inborn trait do you see in others that you wish you had for yourself? A little more responsibility with certain things.
7. Do you wish you'd come up with this survey? No, not really.
8. Finally, what is your favorite deadly sin? Lust, with Greed as a close second. They are very close, you know. |

I Like Happy Meal Good.
On iTunes: Coldplay
I've been working lotsa long days in a row and today is the last of them, and then I get Monday off. And then I work a little Tuesday, and then I get Wednesday and Thursday off. I just want to say how tired I am, and how psychotically I'm looking forward to not doing anything tomorrow.
This means that I should have plenty of time to work on more posts. I don't quite think I've fallen behind or anything like that, but at least it'll be one more post. I thinking about making my "Die Faustus blah blah crazy German here" one kind of... racy. Haven't quite decided. Eh.
Looking forward to Narnia very much. I love Narnia. Narnia loves me. It's going to be awesome, and my character is sooooo cool. In a bitchy, narrow-minded sort of way.
Jen really is neglecting her fish. His water needs to be change desperately. Poor, neglected Geoffrey. There is no more food, I can't feed you!!
In other news.... my plane tickets to and from London have been purchased at last, and the first part of it paid off (the rest has been deferred, yeah for financial aid). It's awesome to have bought the tickets... what a great feeling. Yes! High-fives, people! Whoo London!! |

Totally Rockin' The Socks
On iTunes: Les Mis Soundtrack
I've been watching fishing and poker all day on ESPN. Yeah, I think that speaks for itself. lol
Today I would like to talk to you all about poptarts. Delicious. Fruity. Warm. Crisp. Frosting. Sprinkles. Yes, the poptart is a thing of beauty. But did you know: there are little pictures on each individual poptart wrapper? Little, funky, random pictures. It is by far one of the coolest things I have ever seen. They're friggin' awesome.
I think that I meet people from pretty random places. The other night I went to get some Starbucks with this guy who recently moved down here from FSU. We started talking because of thefacebook. People who say the internet is a bad place to make friends obviously suck, lol.
Went miniature golfing yesterday with the sibs and Jen's friend Amy. It was awesome. I won, of course, because I own in mini-golf. We were all within two strokes of each other, though. That's a good game right there. And I was only four over par, too. Not bad for having not played in months. *super star!*
Jen's fish is starting intently at me. I think he may, in fact, be hungry. I WILL FEED YOU, GEOFFREY, NEVER FEAR!!!!
Ahem. |

I Love Ice Coffee
On iTunes: "Step Into My Office, Baby" Belle and Sebastian
I finished Regeneration the other day and I've been working a little on catching myself up on the responses we've got to do for my online class. I've discovered that I really, really don't like online classes. It's horribly impersonal and I don't know how much I'm actually going to get out of this as far as shared ideas go. But it is required for London, so I don't really have a choice.
Regeneration was awesome. It's a war novel, but as the back of the book so aptly puts it, the real war in the pages is what's going on in the minds of the men. A man is declared "mentally unsound" because of an anti-war protest he wrote and is sent to a war hospital where he will try to overcome his "breakdown". It's beautiful and incredibly intelligent, and there are definite parallels to the war in Iraq. There are probably definite parallels to any war or conflict, really. I really love the way the anti-war theme brings out how the country regards its soldiers.. amazing stuff.
Next is Mrs. Dalloway, and then it's on to Shakespeare's The Tempest (which is one of my absolute favorites) and The Winter's Tale. I need to do a lot of reading in the next few days to try and catch up. o_O;;
So I posted the next chapter in hero. I'm pretty pleased with that one, and hopefully it helps to keep the RPG afloat. Otherwise, I'm still waiting to see what a couple other RPGs I've signed up for are doing. I hope they get active soon cause I'm looking forward to both of them. Me need to write! >_>;
Bought the Arcade Fire's album Funeral yesterday, as well. With my discount it was only like $10. So that's pretty flippin cool. They sound amazing, too. The guy's voice actually reminds me of Modest Mouse a little, but the music is something else. They've got like five million different instruments used across the album. I love that. Great lyrics, and the girl who sings is awesome and Canadian. I'm very happy. |

Beating Up The Young Guy
On iTunes: "Is It Real?" Cowboy Bebop
Total volume of music on my computer: To copy what iTunes says: 1,219 songs, 3.2 days, 5.48 GB.
The last CD I bought: The last CD that I bought? Jesus, it's been a while. I honestly don't remember, so we'll go with the newest CD in the household right now, which would be the new Weezer album.
Song playing right now: Still "Is It Real?" from Cowboy Bebop
Five songs I listen to a lot, or mean a lot to me:
1. "Thunder Road" Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Not only is it gorgeous musically and lyrically, it's very much a family favorite.
2. "Hidden Track Song That Apparently Has No Title So I'm Putting This Instead" Say Anything, from the album Baseball. I love the piano, I love his voice, and the lyrics get to me. We're all about the lyrics here in Megan Land.
3. "Transylvanian" Say Anything again. Because I know what it feels like to be that girl.
4. "Mr. Jones" Counting Crows. Another song that I relate entirely too well to. I really do want to be a lion.
5. "Life on Mars?" David Bowie. Come on, I don't even have to explain this. I want to check out the soundtrack to The Life Aquatic and see if it's got all the Bowie songs from the movie on it. Bowie, but in a completely different language, all on an acoustic guitar. It was one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.
Five people who I am passing the baton to: I'm not passing any batons. Rather, let's say I dropped it, then tripped over it, and then we all went out to get ice cream. |
