100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEED, FULL FLAVOUR
I have a new desktop. It's a giant anime kitty destroying a small city. Miraculously, the only building not on fire is the fast food joint.
We went to Circuit City today to buy movies and video games. Unfortunately, they didn't have any cheap video games that I wanted. They did, however, have a number of movies that I liked that were reasonably under priced. Although when I think about it, it's not that hard to stock movies that I like because there's about a bijillion of them. But I digress. They had Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and Jackie Brown and all were under $20, but I only bought Pulp Fiction because it's the only one I've seen.
Now, I know that sometime before summer ends, I'll go back to Circuit City to buy the last two because I'll have seen them and will then want to own them. Really, what are the chances of me not liking them? It was more a "I don't really want to spend that much money today" thing.
They had Labyrinth and Dark Crystal in a double pack for $30, which I find kind of ridiculous. What's even worse than that, though, is that they had Metropolis (the silent film version, not the anime version) for $25. Something about that seems really off to me. It's a great film, yeah, but I'm under the impression that it's much too old to be $25. Is it worth the buy? It can be argued, sure. But not when I'm feeling particularly cheap.
They didn't have The Bourne Identity. At all. I'm beginning to believe there's some kind of conspiracy afoot.
I've got some movies to watch. One of these is Pulp Fiction because I've had it on the brain since I watched it yesterday. There's a specific part that I want to watch, as well, because it gave me a rough idea for a new RPG. How exciting, yay!
The other movie is Seven Samurai. It's about this little Japanese villages that's being attacked by bandits and other such bad men. The village eventually enlists the aid of these seven samurai warriors to help them out. I saw it late one night many, many years ago, and I stumbled upon it recently and decided it was high time to view this classic again. In the US it was later re-made into The Magnificant Seven, which I have never seen. When I finish this one, though, I'll let you know how cool it is.
So what does all this add up to? Simply that I have spent my entire summer watching movies. Damn straight. ^_~ |
