The power of Christ compels you!
On iTunes: Disney!

Me and my sister have had tickets to see Sister Hazel at Floyd's for just under a month now. I went last year with my parents and had an amazing time. Sister Hazel is always a great show because they love their fans, and their fans love them, and we all know the words to every fucking song.

Friday night was no different. It was crowded and smelly because people were smoking, and I always get cranky right before the show starts because waiting for concerts at Floyds isn't any fun at all. Thankfully there was only one opening band, and Sister Hazel is always pretty good about getting a decent rock band to tour with them.

Decent doesn't even begin to describe these guys. Virginia Coalition was amazing and a half. They had so much energy, it was crazy. They're all jumping around, sweating like pigs and having a good time, and their music is funky cool. They had cow bells and conga (bongo?) drums and the guy playing the keyboard was hysterical - he'd play with his feet, his elbows, his head, would jump around and was so enthusiastic and into all the songs.. It's bands like this that make concerts incredible. I had more fun dancing around to this opening band (which really should headline their own show) than I've had at other concerts for the main band.

Halfway through one of Vaco's songs, this half naked old man comes out on stage and starts dancing luridly. Sister Hazel always plays pranks on their openers, and tonight, this was their way of doing it. It was hysterical, and yet so incredibly traumatizing. He was wearing this tight pink Sister Hazel shirt and briefs, and that was it. And then he took the shirt off. And you could see everything, and he was obviously so pissing drunk, lol. Vaco's lead singer was like, "We'll get you back, you mother fuckers. Sleep with one eye open!" It was all so funny.

When they finished their set, and the techies began setting up for Sister Hazel, I went back and bought Vaco's shirt and their newest CD. I've only listened to it once or twice so far, but I like it a lot. ^_^

And of course, Sister Hazel was the perfect end to the night. I was singing the entire time, with just about everybody else in the house, and the acoustics were pretty good, the guitar works was amazing, as always, and it just gets to a point where saying, "I was grinning from ear to ear" doesn't even begin to explain it. You just have to be there, experiencing the music and the energy. You'd have to see the way the whole band is grinning and laughing when we practicially since songs like "All For You" for them.

Afterwards, we waited outside and got both bands to sign some stuff. I got to actually talk with both bands - they're very cool and down to earth, and they'll sign anything for you. Virginia Coalition signed my CD cover, and Sister Hazel signed my ticket stub, and then, very tired and sore, me and my sister walked home. It was nothing short of an amazing night. =D

Naturally, I had to get out of bed twice Saturday morning because of fire alarms.

Shy will be happy to know that I've completed my next chapter for Hero. I read in the Underground that Sage is pretty much done as well, so that's cool.

Hero has quickly turned into my favorite RPG. It's so much more personal and the characters are so easy to relate to - they're normal. Apart from super powers, of course. Writing this last chapter has also really helped me "get in touch" with my character, as well. I feel like I know her a little better, heh. It's kind of hard to write from her point of view, since I can't exactly speak from experience, but I think I'm doing all right, and I've been looking stuff up for it, so it's all good. It's definitely been fun. ^_^

I ended up seeing The Exorcist tonight, and it was bloody amazing. Having only ever watched it done by bunnies before, it was nice to see the real thing, and it's quickly become a favorite, though it wasn't all that scary. Of course, that's partially because I kept thinking about bunnies at all the pivotal plot points... sometimes!

So, Happy Halloween! ^_^
