I love lemon cake.
Current Mood: lazy
Listening To: Clocks - Coldplay

I haven't been on too much lately, but I'm still around. I blame part of that on my sudden lack of creativity. The last couple posts I've done just haven't seemed good enough and it's really starting to irritate me. Especially since I've sort of got this RPG I'm working on. As you can imagine, this dry spell isn't helping.
Friday and Saturday I had a tea party sort of thing to go to, which was why I needed to buy a skirt Thursday. Natalie and I searched around a couple stores, to no avail, before finally heading over to Dilliards. There I found a few different ones, tried them all on, and decided that I liked this really purple, 60's-ish skirt. It went about knee-length and it had these giant pleats in it. Pretty cute, definitely different, so all in all, good enough for me. Only thing was, it didn't have a tag. So when I took it to the lady behind the counter, she told me that I'd have to find another one like it with a tag or she couldn't sell it to me. Couldn't, or wouldn't? That's the real question.
Anyway, I knew there wasn't another one, but we searched for it anyway. I went back to her empty-handed and asked if she could check their inventory or something, and she confirmed what I'd already thought - the tag was the only way to look up the skirt. Now, I understand she has to follow rules and all that, but let's think about it. First of all, it was the only skirt of its kind left. Second, it had no tag. Meaning, that even if she did sell it to me, nobody would ever know. Third, by not selling it, they're just adding to their inventory. And I was under the impression that extra inventory was bad - by selling me the skirt, they could wouldn't have to worry about it later, and they'd have the money they needed.
But she didn't sell it to me, and so that's why she's a whore. Especially since this lady had been pretty rude the entire time - she ignored me for ten minutes as a stood there with a bunch of skirts in my arms, she talked to her friend who was standing there with her (not doing anything), and she snapped at some girl coming out of the changing rooms so she could check the number she brought out with her.
Shopping on a deadline always makes me cranky.
The tea party went very nicely though, and as it turns out, I'm exceedingly glad I did not buy that skirt - the one I found later was way cooler. So things have a way of working out, no matter how unpleasant they may be. Remember this, young ones.
Also saw Master and Commander last night at the SLB. I love that movie, although I know quite a few people who don't. But I think it's wonderful and historical and it makes me happy, so that's all that matters. Nyah to you nay-sayers.
Today, I'm hoping to go see Alice In Wonderland at one of the theatres here on campus, but I don't know where the theatre is, so we'll just see how that goes, heh.
After that, I have no idea what I'm doing. Perhaps some studying or homework.... yeah.
That is all.
And I want a moment to be real
Wanna touch things I don't feel
Wanna hold on and feel I belong
And how can the world want me to change
They're the ones that stay the same
They don't know me
Cause I'm not here |
