We are the dreamers of dreams.
Okay, for about a week now, I've been pretty bored. And I feel bad that I feel bored because I should be out contributing to the community or something, or feeding homeless people, or visiting old people, or something.. and I'm not. I don't have a job because I don't have a car, and I don't have a car because I don't have a job. I'm completely and utterly sick of cleaning, although the need for it hasn't really stopped - our bathroom is being torn apart and there's a graduation party on Friday for my sister to which a few dozen relatives/neighbors/friends will attend. The work around here never freaking ends.
But at least I'm out of school, I guess. It could be a lot worse, so I'll just be thankful it isn't, for now.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was on TV today. It's one of my classic favorites. Gene Wilder is simply amazing. I know that Johnny Depp is a wonderful actor and that with him, the new WWatCF is going to be good. But I do not see him, nor anybody else, ever surpassing the genius that is Wilder.
With that said, I would like to find a golden ticket. I'd also like to read the book so that I can better understand the huge undercurrent of themes and symbolism running throughout the movie.
I also watched You've Got Mail today, which was also very satisfying, and yesterday night I watched The Last Samurai with my dad, who hadn't seen it before. Jolly good.
In terms of videogames, I've beaten Starfox on my N64 about five times now. I can save the universe in about a half an hour, give or take. It never gets boring, though. And there are still goals to reach - like getting a shiny little metal on all the planets. ^_^;
I've also played Paperboy on that extensively, as well as Super Smash Bros. My brother and I have both expressed interest in buying a Gamecube, however, so we might pull our resources together and finally get the damn console. That would be lovely, indeed.
