Dot Hack Story
I know... I'm supposed to go back...

But I shall continue on...

Tsukasa wandered through a field full of fireflies, wondering what had become of the world since she had begun ignoring it. She pulled her hat down low and continued walking, not realizing she was heading back to where she started. It had been about a week since everyone figured out that the illegal wavemaster was actually a girl. So she had run again. When would this terror end?
Tsukasa looked up at the sky, her eyes filled with tears.
"Why am I the only one who has to suffer?" She asked the wind. "Why?"
Even though she knew the answer, Tsukasa was intent on asking that question. She had been relieved when she had been trapped in the world. At least she had escaped from her over-abusive father. But now she missed her old life. She wanted to return to the world she had deemed 'ludicrous'.
"How will I ever return?" Tsukasa asked herself. "Can I go back home?"
She continued to walk around the area, accompanied by fireflies. Then she noticed something. As she walked, the world began to change. The scenery became that of a hospital. She continued down the corridors, still accompanied by the fireflies. Tsukasa came to a stop in a private room. There was a girl with brown hair lying there, in a coma. The girl's father was standing there, shaking his head.
"I want to turn off the life-support system." He said.
"What?" Tsukasa couldn't believe it. She recognized the man. It was her father.
"Please, don't do it!!" She cried out, running up to her father. "Please!!" She grabbed his arm.
Tears filled her eyes. "Don't make me die!!"

Tsukasa begged and pleaded, trying to change her father's mind.
"I want to come home, Dad! Please!!" She begged.
Her father ignored her. It was as if he couldn't hear her. Then he and the doctor left to the doctor's office.
Tsukasa walked up to her unconscious real-world body and reached out.
"I want to come home..." She whispered, leaning over to her own body and covering it. "I want to come home!"

She realized her intentions, and then the world she had been in came into view. She got up off the ground and sighed.

"I don't know about this..."

Mimiru looked up at the sky. She was with Bear.
"Tsukasa should have been here. He's late." Mimiru complained. Tsukasa appeared behind Mimiru, freaking her out.
"EEEKKK!!! Tsukasa, don't do that!!"
"Sorry." Tsukasa apologized. "I was preoccupied... So, what did you want to talk to me about?"
"Well, don't get mad, all right? But this doctor's trying to make the father of this girl change his mind about taking the girl off of life support!" Mimiru said.
"I know. I saw." Tsukasa said, looking up at the sky. "I wanted to see, but then I couldn't."
"Huh? You're making absolutely no sense at all, Tsukasa." Mimiru said.
"I know." Tsukasa said, looking over at her. "I know."
The three headed for this strange dungeon. Bear had called them there because of a strange girl hacker who was hanging out there, away from people.
As they continued on, they noticed that the dungeon was changing. It went from flesh wall, to Stone wall, to Cave and then, finally, to Castle. When they entered the last door, Tsukasa noticed a Heavy Blade on the ground.
"I'm so stupid." She muttered to herself. "There's no way I can bring my friend back. How foolish of me... Why did she have to go into a coma...?"
"Excuse me?" Mimiru touched the girl. She jumped.
"AAAAHHHHH!!!!" She screamed, tearing her Heavy Blade out. It was an unusual blade. It's hilt was a purple color while the blade was a deep crimson.
"Who are you?" Bear asked. "Are you the hacker?"
"Who wants to know?!" The Heavy Blade asked, readying herself for battle. "I warn you, my stats are maxed out! A newbie would be a fool to take me on!"
"Enough, Rena!" Tsukasa shouted, "We're not here to fight you!"
"How dare you mention the real world here?!" Rena asked. "Just who do you think you are?!"
"Who do YOU think YOU are?! The net is the same as the real world!" Mimiru shouted.
Rena didn't take her eyes off of Tsukasa. "My name is Dark Knight. You are correct in saying that I'm the hacker you're looking for. And who's that?" She pointed at Tsukasa.
"It's me, Rena. Your friend, Tsukasa...!" Tsukasa replied. "It's me, Rena!"
Dark Knight lowered her blade. "If it is..... Then tell me what happened to you! Why are you in a coma?! It's killing me knowing that my best friend is in a coma!!"
