So'k. I was chatting to Charlie and Karmi and Alan earlier, but I had to leave because I'd just remembered what I'd forgotten; I was going for my learners license that afternoon. Since it was already 2 and Mum was coming home at 3, there was much panicking. So, I kept taking notes and stuff, and desperately trying to remember the stuff I need to remember, wondering exactly which pages in the 200 page book I was really going to need. In the end I only really covered On The Road: Driving Skills.
But Mum came home and we went down. Halfway there, I realised I'd forgotten my wallet [and it's $15.90 in order to take the test.]. Once we got there, we realised we'd also forgotten my passport. So Mum had to race home in order to get those two things. XD
So I got my needed Identification and such, and I did the test. There are two sections to that: a 20 question section and a 10 question section. You can only get 18/20 and 9/10. Unfortunately, I got 17/20 and 8/10; I didn't know that the legal limit for alcahol blood levels is .05%, not .01%...
On the upside, I did pass the test for my motorbike learners! ^_^

So, I found some pictures from my trip that I simply have to share with you. To me, they represent everything my trip was about. And, of course, my sense of humour. XD
The first is of the chips -- not Crisps, but 'French Fries' [Aka Freedom Fries, lol!] that are so wierd to me, hehe. They taste different, too. And then the chips in England taste different from that. Pluss, it looks different, hehe.
Anyway, these are Venice Beach chips. The guy who served us at the counter actually asked mum out, hehe! He was like, "We could go out for dinner sometime?" [He was indian or something -- I'm not sure, but he wasn't a native English speaker.] and Mum got flustered and she's like, "Well, actually we're just tourists and we're on a flight in 3 hours, so I'm sorry."
Thus, these are the 'dating Mum' [Or Mom, in the US.] chips.
The second is, of course, a picture of the toilet flushing. As a self-respecting Australian who's seen The Simpsons, I just couldn't resist!
Actually, it does kind of highlight the differences, since in Australia, you can't actually see which way the water swirls when it flushes. Different kind of piping or something.
And, finally, the picture from a place called Forbidden Corner, in England. Its a really cool place; I'll tell you about it some other time. Anyway, this was a 'gravestone' there.
And on the gravestone was a picture of breasts, and this was the inscription, hehe.
If you can't read it, it says;
A canny lass
On any day
Shame she had
To pass away.
ERECTED
by the lads
*cough* Ahem. Yeah.

Anyway, on another note, I'm annoyed at work because they only gave me 8 hours this week. Originally it was going to be 10.5, but they'd given me a shift on Monday which I'd specifically asked for off, so they revised it and gave me 2 hours on boxing day and took the 4.5 hour shift on Monday off...
Having a job but not working is the pits.
Mayble I'll go look for a job that will actually give me work, lol. XD

Okay, I give up. I just cannot stand not blogging somewhere for any longer. Plans are 'in the works' for a different blog, but I might have to wait for a while and I just don't want to...*whines* I've been holding off for months now and the layout is complete and everything, I just need to get myself hosting. It shouldn't be too long but I don't want to pester Mum until after Christmas, you know?
Anyway, I've never really gotten the hang of the myO and I don't understand how people change their looks and stuff -- also, I'm still in the middle of my rebellion against the customization of myO blogs -- so...I'm afraid there won't be any customization here.
So, when did I last post? May 6th? Whoo, you missed out on a lot!
On the 18th of June, I went overseas to America and England. We went via New Zealand [where I had a really nice gourmet pizza] and then we were on a 12 hour flight to America. It was a pretty good flight, actually. Although my feet got cold. We went to Venice Beach, California, for 7 hours, and got lots of post cards. Also had some "American Chips" -- and boy, are they wierd! Took a picture, hehe, so that I'll remember them forever. then, after that we took a rather long flight [on United Airlines -- crap, I tell you -- you have to pay for breakfast on a flight that arrives in the morning??] and we arrived in Florida really early and really jet lagged, lol. My sister greeted us in tears when we got to the hotel -- though not because she was so glad to see us -- her bag had been lost on the planeflight and she had no clothes. She was kinda upset. Then on the 20th we went to EPCOT, for my birthday. And we went to Italy for lunch and they sang happy birthday in Italian. XD It was fantastic, hehe. Then after Florida, we went to England for my sister's Wedding and I spoke to the one and only Solo, which was way cool, lol. I did lots of stuff, but I've got to fill you in on, like, 6 months, so I want to keep things moving.
Eeenyway, I got back and started my job at a fast food chain. It's a pretty okay job -- the pay's pretty all right and I quite like customer service; plus, I get staff dicount and I have some more skills. [Though not as l337 as Alan's, lol.]
I went to school, almost failed Maths but managed to scrape a C, and then got two Bs and the rest As. ^_^
And that's my life so far. I'm going to go for my Learner's liscence on Monday, which will be cool.
Other than that, I have only one thing to say; isn't Christmas cool?
[Oh, and one more thing. This post was catalysted -- can catalyst be a verb? -- by Alan, who said;
I just had this really stupid idea. Like, how unlikely would it be if that Arnica girl updated her myO! XD]

Hrm. Much as I absolutely love this new skin for myOtaku -- and I do love it -- I think I've come to a decision. [I think because I've always been rather indecisive.] I no longer have the energy or the time to blog, and to be honest, not the inclination either. Much as I love those who read this...it's rather stagnant and I always feel restricted in what I write, because people will be reading it.
And yeah, in the past few months I've drawn into myself more and more. I'm not as social as I used to be, and I no longer really need to record what I think somewhere public.
So, um, I guess what I'm saying is that I'm shutting down myOtaku -- as well as my other blogs, none of which contain any real information, heh. My older blogs will stay up because they're a part of...well...my history, and I'd like to keep them. But this one and Mercenary, and the LiveJournal will be going, heh. LiveJournal's already gone. Mercenary won't be long up, either. This blog I'll delete in a few weeks, just so that there's no confusion about the sudden disappearance. *nods*
But, yeah. It's been great, guys. And obviously I'll still be around on OB. It's just that I can't do the blog the justice I want to, so it's being axed, heh. *kisses and hugs*
-- Asphy.
EDIT-- And now I'm having second thoughts, heh. I came back this morning [or afternoon, heh; I slept in] and I saw that HC signed my guestbook. And I love this community so much and I don't want to leave it. *sigh* I don't know. I think I'll put the blog on hiatus for a while, instead of just deleting it, heh.

Review
I think I just got the best review I've ever had! I mean, I read it and I was on a high for about an hour afterwards, heh.
Quote:
I just wanted to let you know that you have a great story. [Now, I'm used to these reviews. Sounds horrible, but I am. I haven't had a flame in the entire time I've been at ff.net. What caught me was the length. I mean, ff.net is infamous for its "It's gud!" reviews, and the length was pretty amazing.] It's wonderful--nice
twist, very well thought out, cool names that have meanings. Everything seems
like it even took an amount of research-and I respect that when writers do that. [The mention of respect here made me wary. Generally, they say they 'respect' your work when you didn't pull it off properly.]
I also write D/G fics here, have 4 out so far, and I haven't even yet gotten to
the point of where I want to go into a story that doesn't resolve just around
D/G yet. So I def. respect you on that and good job. [Again, respect. By this time I was getting really worried.] One thing I don't like is [I was almost scared to read past this point, honestly]
your number of reviews. [*insert my double take here*] You should have at least 300-no joke [300? 300?!?! Wow, I want 300!]. When I update my
next chapter in my story, "[Her story]," I'll try to
remember to recommend this fic to all of my readers if they want something a bit
darker, which personally is my favorite. [I nearly died. I felt so flattered that she'd reccomend me to her readers!]Good job again!
I mean, is that cool or what?? I was so happy, heh.

Unveiling
Well, I have some news. I started Bitter Sweet in June last year, or thereabouts. Since then, I've moved servers [one shut down], and I've come across the problems of things like updates, reviews, and so on.
Well, I've had an updates page for quite a while, and now I have a reviews page. Obviously it's not supposed to be anything like Otakuboards; this site is primarily for reviews of the writing works by the authors, and chats about writing. I'm still pretty proud of it, though.
Basically, after the authors already on there [Charles, myself, Liam and a girl called Courtney] sign up, I'll talk to them about moderating and what they want to do. I was thinking about letting them moderate their own forum -- with some guidelines, of course -- but they may be too busy. Not that it'd be a big job...most sites like this I've seen don't get much activity anyway.
But yeah...please go and look around, even if you decide not to join. I know a few people have been wanting a reviews site, and while I don't expect it to be big by any means, I do hope it will at least be.

*laughs*
I'm in the Otakuboards Launch Chat, and as many people in there have stated, there's nothing like that name to get people to join, heh.
*grins* It's lotsa fun. And to think I was going to go to school today [I didn't because then I wouldn't have been able to get to my dentist appointment, heh]. I would have missed out a chat room, heh.
On another note, my appointment for my teeth is today, so I'll be leaving home at 2:20 to get to it. I have to have anasthetic and everything. Last time I had local, though, I got all dizzy. Hope it doesn't happen again. It's a root canal, which means they go inside the tooth and stuff. I dunno how it works, but I'm starting to get nervous, heh. ^_^"
EDIT-- It's up! And it's gorgeous.

Oops
I deleted this entry, because Samjaza said that it wasn't supposed to be there, which I didn't know, sorry. I apologise to you all.
EDIT -- I'd just like to formally note that his name is actually Semjaza, not Samjaza. >.< I was typing in a hurry.

The Newbie Lounge
The Newbie Lounge: you can see it, there. You can't get into it, unfortunately [or fortunately, depending on how you look at it], but you can see it.
Now, as some of you might know, Sere and I made up what was [after the "Who do you most respect", thread, I believe] "Newbie Forum Patrol". We had the Weapons of Justice, and "thwapped" whoever got out of line. We went along and posted in every introduction thread in the forum. And I mean every. All in all, I would have posted in around 130 threads by the time it closed down.
Along for the ride were my now long time friends Ashy, Mo, Dan. Circeus was there, too, I believe, with his socks. ^.~ And there were many more that I got on very well with, but have lost contact with since then, especially since I've changed rather a lot, heh.
The Newbie Lounge was also where my nickname -- Rae -- formed. Sere Tuscumbia had been reading SYF: Garrotted Threats, which I was involved in at the time. My character in that RPG was Raellyra Stanton. Now, this RPG, [created by Liamc2], was heavily based on reality, so it was a deal where you could use your own name. I didn't, obviously. However, Sere thought that I had, and started calling me Rae in the Newbie Lounge. That caught on, and everyone in the NL started calling me Rae. I figured it was easier to get them to call me that than to explain it all, so I went along with it. Eventually, the name filtered out of the NL, so most people knew me as Rae. It's only lately that people have started calling me other names, heh, and Rae has been forgotten, almost.
But yes. I do have fond memories of the NL, however it's obvious that it had to go. Even I knew it was spammilicious, and I was in love with it. It's abscence made OB a better site, and I know I matured a lot since it died.
So I don't think I'd take it back if I had the chance, heh.
