   Good morning, everyone!!!! ^_^
Well, work's going a little better. Either that, or I feel less like complaining since I don't have to go in 'til 5 pm today! ^_^ Yesterday I met Alicia, the maid/handyman. awesome girl! She was really willing to take me under her wing immediately. She's explained that you just kinda have to put up w/ the bosses, you love 'em, but you just have to listen to all the crap they go over w/ you, agree, and then do it your way as soon as they leave. ^_^ So, *shrugs* I'm thinking things will be getting better soon. I made a reservation yesterday! Although, it was different from everything else that she'd taught me since the man was in the office. (Everything she'd taught me was for ppl calling in.) The bad thing about work yesterday was being there 2 hours longer than I was supposed to be. *shrugs* more money *evil grin*
lovelyEowyn and I went out to Ted's Montana Grill, which supposedly belongs to Ted Turner. Interesting story: I get a call at work. The lady has an accent I can't place. She wants to know prices to have 3 men stay (in separate rooms) at the Castle, and one of them will need to stay for several days. I explain to her that she needs to speak with Paula, but I'll have her call back. Then the lady tells me it's important because one the guests is Ted Turner. I'm kinda like, 'okay...'. She said it was for the opening of two restaurants. (both the ones I knew about are already open, but in the locations she mentioned.) Kinda weird altogether. *shrugs*
I guess that's enough of my rambling. *grins* I bought a lot of crap for my dorm yesterday, but I think that makes a very good future post that no one will really care about! ^_^

   Work sucks...
Okay, so it's really not that bad, but it's not exactly fun...it's rather stressful. When Paula got back yesterday, she walked me through the night audit *cries*. Her method of training (as I told duo yesterday) is to throw you in the lake and see if you'll swim. Most of the time this week, I'll be working alone. I'm supposed to answer the phones (in one of the three different ways she told me to: each time telling me a different way after I used the last one she'd said. *shakes head*) I guess the whole thing would be much easier if she weren't so meticulous (esp. when considering how long I've been working there...) I feel like she's breathing down my neck as long as she's actually there. Then, I'm afraid I'll screw something up while she's gone. The scary part is that she reminds me way too much of Jan Scott, a former Girl Scout leader who took all the fun out of being a Girl Scout... *shakes head* I realize that both women simply know what they want and how they want it done, but there's a saying: 'If you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself.' No one else is going to do things exactly like you do!! *shakes head again* It's just kinda frustrating. I feel like I can't relax at all while I'm there. And now, she wants me to spend any time that I'm not answering the phones reading the user's manual to the hotel program on their computer. (BTW, she's never read it herself.) *grrrr* Oh well. I'll talk to everyone later.

   At work.
Well, I'm sitting in the carriage house office right outside the castle (which, BTW Niko, actually looks like a castle from the outside). I have the job, and I now I'm working until 6 tonight (maybe a little longer.) What's scary is that Paula (the owner) isn't here right now. I came in for 3 1/2 hours yesterday and we went over some things, but I can't even make reservations yet! *sniff* I'm a little nervous about using the internet on company time, but the phones aren't rining, and there isn't anything for me to do right now (except periodically check for email, mostly spam I have to delete.) It's so weird. I've always thought this place was so cool. I always wanted to drive by it when I was a little kid. It's really pretty out here, especially with this section of the Arkansas River.
This morning, I went to my aunt's house to see the dogs I'll be watching this weekend. She wanted to give me a facial b/c she's a beauty school grad and she was doing make-overs for her cousins (the ones in town from California.) So, I sat around with a bunch of ladies twice my age (or more) with a bunch of mud on my face (which smelt and looked like baby food peas.) It was actually kinda fun. They're all really nice ladies, and my dad's family is hilarious. We were all trying not to laugh b/c we can't really move our mouths with the masks on. I'm not really big on make-up and facials, so I was really doing it to make Auntie Tina feel better. It was slightly unnerving b/c she kept trying to give me beauty tips. No offense, but she and her daughter tend to be very superficial. I guess I've always chosen 'books over looks'. It annoys me when ppl do otherwise. *shrugs* enough ranting.
I guess, tomorrow night, I'm going out to a karoke bar w/ all the adults of the family. It'll be a lot of fun. My dad's a real ham. (He rewrites song lyrics for ppl's birthdays and such...always very funny!)

   Long Weekend...whew!!
I try to pride myself on posting daily, but my cousins stayed here this weekend. (Anne, who stayed earlier this summer, as well as her 3 sisters and her parents...) I spent most of the day Friday cleaning house, most of the Saturday entertaining them, and most of the day Sunday at various family parties.
Friday:
clean, clean, clean....I felt like Cinderella....My b**** sister slept in pretty late while I got the kids to clean. I think she took care of one or two things. *rolls eyes* That night, the cousins came for dinner (pasta) and lovelyEowyn joined us. We watched The Importance of Being Earnest and Mystery Science Theatre 3000...both very funny in their own ways. ^_^
Saturday:
Woke up feeling like crap b/c I'd tried to sleep on my hard basement floor while my cousin took my bed...*sniff* After some frantic runnning around (and issues w/ everyone needed to take a shower in the only bathroom with a usable one...) we made it to the theater in time to see King Arthur with lovelyEowyn. Nice battle scenes and eyecandy ^_~ but the whole anti-religion thing really started to get to me. It left a bad taste in my mouth >.< Oh, and the whole scene b/t Guinevere and Arthur was 100% unnecessary. *rolls eyes* Anyway, we went home and had dinner (pasta again) and went to Copper Cue, a pool hall and arcade. Lots of fun. ^_^ We played a game of cutthroat that lasted over an hour (people couldn't stop scratching), but I finally won!! ^_^ (I even beat my little hotshot brother! *sticks tongue out*) lovelyEowyn and I played airhockey (which I won, too), but I sadly wore out my right arm from it... *sniff*
Sunday:
Went to 8:30 Mass with some of the kids... >.< *yawns* Went to cousin Jill's bridal shower. *yawns* Went to aunt and uncle's house to see relatives from California, nice ladies, but I was tired. *yawns* Went home and to bed. *yawns*

And there you have it: My weekend. whew

Oh, awesome news!! I may have a job at the Castle! (a bed and breakfast on the river) The lady running it needs some help. ^_^ I'll be taking reservations and showing people to their rooms. *crosses fingers*

Well, I'm gonna have to pick up the kids from swim team pretty soon...this is the last week! They have championship Saturday! yessssssssss!! ^_^
