Best Day Of Life: January 6!! Worst Day Of Life: January 6!!
I'll explain that title in a few minutes. So, what's up!?
Well, Thursday was another bland day. Doing exams in school, which is never fun. But I think I aced them all. Repeat: I think. XD So, then I just lounged around and played games trying to help my cousin out. I swear, if he doesn't one day work as a game tester or something to that effect, I'm so going to be mad at him. All he does is games, games, games. Hell, he stopped watching anime for his games! At least my games have anime!
Then Friday came! First, I'll explain why it was the worst day of my life. I had to go to that allergy doctor. Okay, walking in he seemed nice, then went psycho. He started trying to make all of these weird jokes about Osama Bin Laden and trying to make t humerous. It actually was working, until he took a needle and started scraping across my arm for the "scratch test"! No jokes helped then. Right after he left the room, me and mom gave each other these looks like "We should get out ... NOW! He's crazy!" Needless to say, she owed me a belt!
Then that got over with (thank God) and we went back to "Roach Garden" (reference last trip to Olive Garden XD). I actually didn't eat much, mainly cause I was so nervous about something coming up in a few minutes, and the fact that I had minor stigmata wasn't helping! XDD So, then we went to the mall, and now the reson why Friday was also the best day of my life ........ I got to call, yes, CALL (like on a cellphone call) Karen!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't ask! Please! Anyway, she had to experience, first hand, the random day of madness that involved ducking from my mom in a Hot Topic to trying to listening to me give a growling demonstration! XD But aside from the damage to my vocal chords due to the growling, we had a great time talking. Then I went to Circuit City and the other mall and did some shopping there. All in all, I nabbed a new belt, Cradle Of Filth's "The Cradle To Enslave" and "Damnation And A Day" albums (both of which get automatic 10s), Fruits Basket Vol. 2 manga, Angel Sanctuary Vol. 1 manga, and a Simpsons calender!!!
Then, on Saturday, I had to go back to the doctors!!!! Why? Mom!!! GGRRRR!!!! But, we got to go back to the mall and I grabbed the new Chimaira album (it's self-titled, by the way). I give that a 10 too. It really is boss! And then that just ended out my week!
Now, instead of a poem today, I'm going to give you guys the top 3 albums and songs that were out in 2005! Here they are!
Albums:
3. Still Remains -Of Love And Lunacy
This album could be one of the most defining metal albums I've ever heard as a debut. The keyboards make it highly alike to In Flames, yet the breakdowns could be motioned back to Unearth!Jordan's guitar work in the album is also something to be noted. All in all, a very melodic metalcore album that definitly gets five stars any day!
2: Trivium - Ascendancy
Like I said above, I could not BELIEVE that this was a debut album! This sounded like the defining album of a band that has been around since the 80s! Everything from the vocals to the guitars screams that this is the new sound of metal! Corey and Matt's guitar solos are also super complex and should be greatly noted in thier dificulty. Once again, this is a five star album.
1: As I Lay Dying - Shadows Are Security
Buying this album as an As I Lay Dying fan already, I had very high expectations for this album. After listening to it, I don't even bother picking up their old album anymore! This is probably the GREATEST METALCORE ALBUM EVER!!! (Quote me. I don't care!) Riffs of way too technical proportions for hardcore combined with unbelieveably seismic breakdowns equals pure gold! Also, Tim always has a point of getting that little place in you to spark when you hear him. This is definitly the best album of 2005!!!
Songs:
3: Confined by As I Lay Dying
As usual, AILD deliver again, probably making an anthem in terms of moshing! Everything from a blast beat to a breakdown to melodic vocals is used in this song. It just runs the gamment of things a song can do. Definitly one of my favs.
2: A Gunshot To The Head Of Trepidation by Trivium
As soon as I heard this song, I knew it was goning to be something I'd be telling everyone about, and it looks like I was right. One thing about this song sticks out: that double solo!!!! I've never heard a solo I was in love with more than this one. Then that war chant "HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY!". Pure metal!
1: Nothing Remains by Chimaira
Before you go saying that I'm putting this on here just because I got the album on Saturday, let me say that I've heard this song many months before and loved it then, so I have all right to say it was the best song of the year. The thing sounds purely mechanical the whole way through, almost as if a machine had made the song! That adds to the genius of it considering that the whole album itself was designed to sound like that. Also, it's just heavy fast and all of that good stuff.
So, use that info wisely! ^_~
Now, vid time. Luckily, they didn't have videos 4 and 3, which happened to be Clutch with "Burning Beard" off thier album "Robot Hive/Exodus" and Life Of Agony with "Love To Let You Down" off thier album "Broken Valley", respectively. And, since I didn't recommend one of them, I'm happy that I don't have to torture you! And now, a video I have been DYING to play! ^________________________________^
Coming in at number 2 it's Slipknot with "Before I Forget" off of their album "Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses". This is Slipknot, UNMASKED, sort of. XD Also, if you look in the background after the first chorus, Clown is doing the HARDEST circle headbanging I've ever seen!!! Kudos to him!! Anyway, I will air the number 1 video of the year on Thursday, so get ready people!!!!!
This week's question: What do you think was the best album of 2005?
Last week's question: I love a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit for breakfast. Don't ask! XD
Well, I've gotta be at school in ten minutes so I will run. Don't forget to give reivews and comments to my Christmas present Karen made for me or *shakes fist*. Well, take care and stay (sic).
~a7s_____~ He actually left the room, like, two minutes ago. So how is this still being typed?
