First Anniversary. *passes out pocky*

Well... I was under the impression that I had joined up on the THIRD of August last year, but it turns out that was just my supreme dyslexia having some fun with my brain. So, this post is a day late. So much for the set-up I had going. *grin* Well, with that out of the way... here I go.

Today (*cough*yesterday) marks my one-year anniversary of being a myOtaku member. I've been here for a full year, and that is hard to believe. I look back and I think how fast the year has passed. Theatre class probably helped speed up the year, with a play every few months and deadlines scampering by faster than you can catch up to them. It may also have been the anime-induced phenomenon of true procrastination: "I'll watch these borrowed DVDs next weekend..."

But it also might have been that I have met so many great people and had so much fun that I blew away my biological clock. I think that's a possibility.

I remember when I was first introduced to THAT by Dark Phoenix and Red Tigress and NightBeck (and if you don't know those names, you should!), and in one of my spurts of random-needing-to-feel-useful, I made a few banners... I can't believe how much THAT and it's members and everything have grown since then. I have made so many wonderful friends here that it just doesn't compare with any other community I've been in.

I have people here to thank for being introduced to fansubs and things like Peace Maker Kurogane and Full Metal Alchemist, and I'm sure my ever-growing love of shounen-ai stems from people here as well. Most importantly, though, I should thank all of you for accepting me and all my weird quirks and social phobias ^.^; Nearly every time I talk to one of you or read a comment or a guestbook entry, it makes me smile. I feel loved, and it's such a precious feeling.

To those who I've gotten to know over the year, I treasure all of you and the times that we've had, far beyond what I can say with words. I love you all, and I hope that the next year will be even better than this one has. May this be only the first of many great years together.
