*sob/smile*
I finally watched the last of Fruits Basket.... and... wow, that was sure not the direction I expected it to go! Still... I felt like the whole anime was really well-done, and so touching, I was in tears by the last episode. It makes me want to hug all of them even more, you know?
I won't do much more ranting or analyzing, because I think once I start, I won't be able to stop myself when I get to spoilers... What an amazing series.
I didn't mention this before, largely because I couldn't remember his name... but at SakuraCon, I got a chance to talk to Hiroshi Nagahama (via someone hired to translate for him, of course). At the time, I had only seen the first six episodes, but I told him that I could already tell that there was so much depth in the portrayal of the characters. Now that I've seen the whole series, I don't think I could have said anything more accurate. ^.^; I want to buy the DVDs for myself, now, instead of mooching them from my friend... and I want to get my hands on the manga and the soundtrack (and posters! many posters!). This is such a beautiful anime, and even though it's left a lot of questions unanswered with a very open ending, I'm very pleased with it overall - not just with the development of the story and characters, but also with the quality of the animation and the soundtrack. I'm sure the English dub is decent, but I haven't actually seen the dub yet, I just watched the sub. ^.^;
*jumps off the soapbox* You know, they have Yuki and Kyo plushies available, now? Saw 'em at SakuraCon. So... kawaii... *meeps*
Unrelated notes of randomness... my voice recital is in ten days, Laramie Project opens in about three weeks, and my choir's spring concert is in four. I'm so glad that AP tests are over.
Good night!
