My Story ^^
Avatar: Life and Death
By: Kiki Menmatuza
Chapter 1
My life is hard. I am the avatar but I was born a water bender. I’m blind but I know how to do everything. I feel vibrations in the ground and water, I hear like a dog, I’m a great bender, and I know how to heal. I hardly get any rest because I still have to master air. I have mastered everything else and my mom is very proud. My dad doesn’t really care about me. I live in the Southern Water Tribe but I was born in the Northern Water Tribe. My dad didn’t want a child so he told my mom she had to move to where she was born or else he would hurt me. My father is a great water bender but he doesn’t really know I am the avatar. I’ve been spending my whole life remembering where everything is. I know all the people in the tribe yet only 2 of them are my friends, Katara and Sokka. We hang out when I am not learning. I know there Grandma like she is mine. She even told me to call her Gran-Gran and to treat her like she is my grandma since my real ones are dead.
“Kiki. I want you to meet an air bender that can teach you air bending!” I heard someone scream on the other side of the wall that surrounds are little tribe. I went up to the wall and put my hands against it. My mother came up to me and touched my shoulder, “I think that was Katara.” I smiled and remembered that her brother Sokka went with her and some other kid to do something. So all I could think about was Sokka returning home. Sokka was my friend and he helped me when I was trying to learn water bending. Katara was teaching me but he held my hands and moved them for me to know how to make the waves and stuff. There was a scent like a water bender behind me. I turned around, “Katara? Is that you? Is Sokka with you?” My mother left and went home as I felt smooth, wet hands touch mine. “Yes, I’m here. Also yes, Sokka is with me.” She hugged me like a friend hugs another friend after they see each other after a long time. Katara moved and felt rough, torn hands touch mine. I smiled and knew that they were Sokka’s hands. Rough like all boys and torn from his knife. “Is Gran-Gran okay?” I knew he didn’t think much of me right now, only caring about his family. “Sokka be nice. I’m sure Gran-Gran is fine.” I heard Katara say. Katara put someone else’s hands on mine. They were rough, with the feeling of wood. “Aang this is Kiki. Kiki, Aang. I have someone else for you to meet. She is blind but an earth bender. Her name is-“ “Toph,” someone cut in.
