I've been feeling kind of depressed lately. Maybe it's because this is probably my last summer to relax and work on my art. Next year my mom is probably going to make me get a summer job. -_- I don't want to spend all summer getting up early and going to bed early for some job I don't need or want that'll suck away all my art time. Feh, this sucks.

Anyway, if you didn't see yesterday's post, please check it out. I need some assurance from those who have seen the FB anime if I'm going to take the gamble of buying it and watching it.

Man, I love Guns N' Roses and Iron Maiden, but when it comes to awesome lyrics, Metallica schools em' all. Many of their lyrics have inspired stories and even characters for my manga. Not to mention the 2 themes I want to use for my manga are both by Metallica. I want to see how you guys would interpret these lyrics, so take a quick listen and tell me what you think, OK?:

   Happy Father's Day!
Hi everybody. Happy Father's Day! Wait, Father's Day? 0_o Holy crap! I gotta' get something for my dad! I better draw him something nice!

Anyway, while I'm on an adrenaline rush, I'll tell you what happened to me yesterday. I went to Barne's & Noble's yesterday, and Love Hina 10 was gone! T_T The first time I'm able to read it, GONE! Anyway, I started looking for something to read. Chrno Crusade vol. 3 was now in, along with vol. 4, but vol. 2 (the one I need), and Fullmetal Alchemist vol. 2 won't be here till mid-July! So, having no series I was in the middle of available, I picked up vol. 1 of Fruits Baskets. Everyone on this site has told me how wonderful and funny FB is, so I thought I could get into it. Well, I was wrong. I know this'll disappoint many of you FB fans, but I was really unimpressed. Both the art and the story were, well, mediocre to just down right 'bleah' in my opinion. I found the story no where near as engrossing as many said it would be. The characters were flat, single-sided and boring, and aside from Yuki, Kyo and Tohru (which I already knew of) I can't remember any of the characters names. And I enjoyed the art even less! The artist's lines are thin and sloppy, and her shading just down-right sucks. Shed seriously try to shade solid objects like this:

And her proportions were WAY out of whack! I was afraid Yuki was going to shoot me with some sort of death-ray or something. Ewwww, friggen' creepy eyes, man!
But, the anime sounds and looks like it's going to clear all those problems up. The good remarks I've heard about FB were pretty much all about the anime (though nothing bad was specifically said about the manga, that obviously didn't guarantee the manga's quality). So I'm willing to bet the anime puts the manga's story and art to shame (well, for its sake, I hope it does).

Josh: "So, what's so special about the guys from Fruits Basket?"
Megan: "They turn into an animal if they're hugged by a member of the opposite sex!"
Josh: "Hey, I do the exact same thing!"

XD I thought that joke up just now! Think about it for a second and you'll get it!

>.0 Rough night again. I was up until 3 or 4 last night, and I went to bed at like 1. I ended up trying to sooth the crushing boredom with heavy metal (yes, at 3am), and it helped me a little, but only marginally.
Gotta' go get new frames for my glasses in a second. But, after that (and a 30 minute work-out), I get to go manga-late! Maybe even with Josh! Josh got home a day early, so he might be able to go with me!

My emotions have been doing that whole "roller-coaster" thing a lot lately. Happy, pissy depressed, pissy, indifferent, happy, depressed, in that order in the course of one day. @_@ I hate being a teenager!

Have you ever noticed that ElvesAteMyRamen is NEVER depressed or mopey? How does she do that? She's always as friendly and chipper as ever. And speaking of Lindsey, check out what she made from her Chrno Crusade DVD:

I saved the image and put on Photobucket.com, co is that 'direct linking'? I sure hope not, because Lindsey hates that. Did I post it right as not to suck out Lindsey's Bandwidth?
By the way, Lindsey, if you're reading this, how do I put my animated cycling gif's onto photobucket? When I try to put them on there, they cycle through their animation ONCE, and then just sit there on their last frame. How do I get them to repeat themselves like yours do?

By the way, now that I've gotten my e-mail working again, I can le you guys listen to some of the tracks from S&M if you want. Some of them are short enough that they don't need to be compressed. So if you'll listen to them, I could happily post the S&M versions of Of Wolf and Man, Fuel, The Memory Remains, Hero of the Day, Devil's Dance, Until It Sleeps, For Whom The Bell Tolls, -Human, Sad but True and Nothing Else Matters. But that catch is that you'd have to have heard the song before. So, have you already heard the regular un-symphonized version of any of those songs?

   >_< I get to spend 2 hours with my brothers stupid therapist. My mom said that if I went with her to the Y yesterday I could go to Barne's & Noble's today. But nooooooooooooooo, I gotta' go get patronized and talked down to for 2 hours. -_-' This sucks. And I can't go tomorrow because I have to go work-out for 30 minutes (which I don't mind) but then spend 2 hours 45 minutes while my brother and sister play (which I really, really, REALLY do mind). *sigh*

But it's not like I have any right to complain. DragonMasterKatie's been going through some heavy sh*t recently, and she took the time to draw something for me! It's a beautiful picture of a mermaid! I'd post the pic on my site here, but I think I'd get more people to vote and comment on her awesome artwork if I just posted a link to where it is! So here's the link: Clicky, clicky!

Just thought I'd try to do that little info thingy that some of you do at the beginning of your posts.

Man, am I the only one that loves the Fullmetal Alchemist intro? It's just so peppy and vibrant. It's just like a Beatles song: It has a way of putting you in a good mood that you can't quite explain.

*sigh*, rough night last night. I think somebody’s trying to screw with my head or something. Ah well, nothing I can properly explain.

By the way, someone who shall remain nameless has been saying I'm 'prejudiced' against goths and even hackers. This isn’t the first time I've been accused of being prejudiced, and then and now I'd like to say that's premium BS. I'm not 'prejudiced' against goths, gays, african-americans, foreigners or ANYBODY. Anybody who'd think that I am is full of grade-A sh*t. I am however opposed to a lot of stuff that gets me called 'prejudiced' and a 'bigot' and such. But AwesomeDude898 doesn't roll like that. But if any of you liberal retards want to gnaw on my a** for a few hours like you normally do just because I don't embrace sexual perversion or moral decay on religious grounds and will not conform to the majority opinion, go ahead. Bring it on, bi-otch. I've got all day, you little liberalistic moraless drains on society.

Now that I've gotten that rant out of the way, let's get to the fun stuff!

   Hey everybody. I've got 2 people that need our support (one on TheOtaku and one off).

DragonMasterKatie's friend is going through some pretty tough times right now, but I think Katie is having just as hard a time with it as he is (now, what does that say about Katie? that's right, that shows just how caring a person she is). Please pray for both her and Original J, and if you have time, please visit them with a few words of encouragement.

Also, my cousin Andrew got mugged. He was coming home from a party at 2am, and he had a flat tire. 2 guys pulled up and offered to help, but one hauled off and Cold-Cocked him in the jaw and knocked him out. They would have stolen his wallet and his truck, but luckily he had those safely in a lock-box in the trunk. But Andrew was in the hospital, but even though he's out now he still has his jaw wired shut. >_< Poor Andrew. I haven't seen the guy since I was 7 (my mom and my aunt don't get along to well). Please pray for Andrew.

Anyway, let's get to the fun stuff! The Song of the week is back! Ya' know why? Because yours truly got his e-mail fixed! \^o^/ Yay! Jeeze, I had 25 frikken' new e-mails! Ah, but most of it was SPAM anyway. Oh well, the song of the week is Back in the USSR by the 4 and only Beatles!

Oy, I just got back from the eye-docter. Though probly my least hated doctor, he put in those drops that make you super sensitive to light. >_< We went to Bojangles for luch, and I thought I was gonna' die! My eyes felt like they were about to melt!

In other news, I owe Rosa (Vankalla 86) an apology. I missed her new artwork! And boy, was I missing out! Just look at this!:


Isn't that beautiful? The coloring is so impressive! And the fact that kissing is one of the most difficult interactions to draw, this is awesome!

Did you know there were a lot of winks and nods to Alice In Wonderland in that movie? Let me explain:
*The main character's name is Alice
*The computer's name is the "Red Queen"
*The T-virus is tested on a white rabbit
*The computer explains that the zombies have to be shot in the head to be killed (as in, "Off with their heads!")

Anyway, great job, Rosa! Your artwork is really improving! Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see more!

   Sunlight, falling on your steel. Life is like a wheel.
I want to take a second to give some props to my buddy Josh. Josh has loaned me his wicked awesome CD's for the time that he'll be out of town.
So why is this so important? It is because Josh has now introduced me to the wonderful world of Guns N' Roses and Iron Maiden. Though I've always liked Welcome To The Jungle and Sweet Child O' Mine by GNR, this is the first time I've been able to own them. Plus, I've been able to listen to all of Guns N' Roses other awesome songs! So far I've listened to "Appetite For Destruction" and "GNR's Greatest Hits" album, but I still need to listen to Use Your Illusion 1 and 2.
I've also found the seething cauldron of awesomeness known as Iron Maiden by way of my buddy. I've only listened to the album "Piece of Mind" so far, but I LOVE that band already! Where Eagles Dare, Flight of Icarus, Die With Your Boots On, Sun & Steel, To Tame A Land and especially The Trooper are all incredible Iron Maiden songs that I highly recommend!

Have you ever thrown a massive party and needed a huge amount of Coke for your guests? Well, they have a special delivery service for times like that. Take a look:


Ha ha! I bet you thought that was real for a second there! This is yet another example of the awesome stuff you can do with photo-manipulation. Doesn't that look real, though?

Anyway, I did an awesome pic of my character Megan last night. Ya' know, the one who looks like Rebecca Chambers? I did a pic of her entitled "'Don't worry, I'm an expert!'". This new pic I did, though, I'm sort of disappointed with it. I like everything except the hair. That's what I get for trying to do layers. *sigh*, and I worked so hard on it to.

Oh! And I forgot to congratulate Living Doll for getting the l\l3RD T3XT LYR!CZ translation correct! It was in fact Metallica's lyrics for Master of Puppets in nerdy hacker text.

   Hi everybody. How's it going?

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Goths ruled the world? Well, through the power of photo-manipulation and the imagination, I will show you what it would look like, IF GOTH-NERDS RAN THE WORLD!!! (Whoa, dramatic)

Anyway, I was up until 3 last night. @_@ Damn artistic epiphanies. Why do they always come so late and at such weird times? Oh well, I shouldn't complain. It's God's gift, so I should be thankful.
I've been doing a series of pics that are based on the whole Silent Hill ghost formula. Ya' know, each ghost being a victim of a deranged killer? Guess how many ghosts I have so far. 11, baby! And they look so cool (even though they aren't in color)!
I also started a piece based on the song "Bleeding Me". You remember when I posted that awesome chorus, don't you? Here it is again. This is one of my all-time favorite songs. Who hasn't felt like this at some point?:

Such a powerful song, and it has so many great metaphors for emotional anguish.

Anybody want to take a crack at what any of those lines mean? It's always fun to see how you guys interpret this kind of stuff.

Sorry, but I just thought this photo was too powerful NOT to post. Isn't that beautiful? In case you don't know, that's a WWII veteran with a Marine that was injured in Iraq. Powerful stuff, *sniff*, very powerful.

On a very happy note, Living Doll and her entire area got through Tropical Storm Arlene just fine! Thank you all for praying for her!

Even though I've never seen or read Fruits Basket (or is it "Fruit Baskets"?), this AMV is really funny and clever! Yo everybody! Back from the Y (I'm SUPER tired! XP), and I'm havin' hamburgers tonight! Plus, it's summer! Life is good!

Anyway, Lindsey is now on a Monday through Friday work schedule, so she can only stop by on the weekends, and even that's not a sure thing. I miss my ElvesAteMyRamen, *sniff*. No, never mind, that's selfish on my part to feel like that. Moving on...

Speaking of EAMR, I must thank her for telling me about Chrno Crusade! I read vol. 1 yesterday, like I said. Man, I loved it! Demons, ghosts, angels, zombies, and @$$-kicking nuns with awesome fire-arms loaded with deadly sacred ammo! A lot of that stuff is in my manga! Well, all of that stuff is in my manga, except for the @$$-kicking nuns part. b^_^d It's an awesome manga, and I'm learning a lot from it! It's a great place for me to learn how to draw guns, battle-poses and explosions! I'm straining to read volume 2 (and yes, I'm SURE they don't have it yet), and I may even buy the series! I just love it that much! Rosette (I spelled that right, didn't I?) and Chrno are such a loveable pair! CC is exactly like Lindsey said it would be! It really is like that series was made for me! I wuv ya', Lindsey!

I also highly recommend the Fullmetal Alchemist manga. I swear, story AND animation-wise, FMA is one of, if not THE best anime I've ever seen! So many deep and true ideas about life, knowledge, playing God, happiness, reality, evil, and so many other things!
