First off, I sort of gave a misnomer yesterday about my family. My relative that's coming over isn't my direct uncle. I forgot to add the fact that he's my GREAT uncle. So no, my mom isn't like 80 or something, it's her uncle that's 95 years old, not mine.

I'm having a hard time concentrating and getting inspired for my art for some reason. Maybe it's that combination of stress, irregular sleeping and eating and the medication I have to take every so often (I've been getting a lot of migraines lately. It's genetic). Does anybody have any suggestions for getting over that feeling of mental blockage? Does anybody else get that every so often?

Anyway, I got a quick poll for you guys. I'm trying to make them shorter but give them more often to make it easier for you guys. Today I'm going to do a study on background music and the effect it has on someone viewing an anime. Please do not read the answers of anyone else that has taken the poll until you are done, OK? Please follow the instructions carefully.

1. Listen to this riff:

"

Which of the following animals does it make you think of?
A. A Butterfly, as it flutters across a field of flowers in the sunlight.
B. A clever and ruthless Timber Wolf prowling in the snow for his next meal.
C. A Spider closing in on a helpless fly trapped in its web.
D. A Cockroach scurrying across a kitchen floor.

2. How does this riff make you feel?:
"

3. What vibe do you get from this segment?:
"

A. Happy
B. Energetic/Powerful
C. Creepy/Dark & Dank

4. Which of the following scenes best accompanies this background music?
"

A. A team of anime good guys dukes it out with the antagonistic but loveable bad guys.
B. Bullets fly as a convict successfully (and desperately) escapes from the authorities in a vicious gun-battle in the street.
C. The main character struggles to get back in the lead of a NASCAR race and successfully passes his rival and takes 1st place.
D. Lightning and thunder in the sky accompany a man's pounding pulse as he is led to the electric chair to be executed.

5. Which of the following scenes best accompanies this background music? (it may take about 5 or 10 seconds to hear the music, since it's a fade-in beginning):
"

A. A man huddles in a dark corner, and ponders the meaning of his life (or lack where of), as he contemplates suicide.
B. A young athlete tries again and again in his practice to successfully complete a task he's set his mind to (it can be any sport you can practice alone at).
C. A young man confesses the feelings he has for the woman he loves on a park bench as the spring-time cherry blossom petals gently float down around them like tiny pink snowflakes. (awwwwwwwwww)
D. A mad scientist completes his greatest diabolical invention, and vows that it will be his stepping stone to take over the world! Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Thank you very much for your help, guys, and thanks for all your support and prayer through this past week. I've really needed it. Please say a quick prayer for me as I meet my great uncle today, and please visit Vankala 86. More info on her to come.

Looking back on yesterday's post, I really owe you guys an apology. I'm really sorry if I scared anyone yesterday. I just felt that I had to get my thoughts out. Now I feel almost like I over-reacted to my mom. It wasn't so much her actions as it was her mentality. I still feel like I'm not respected, but I feel better about it now. I don't know why, but my parents really got to me with how they treated me.

But I owe a big thank-you to all of you who commented yesterday, such as Vankala 86, MichaelsGirl91, and especially Miyoko-chan. I've got a fair amount of PM's to answer, and I just want to thank you all for all your support!

I know what you're thinking right now: "Gee Logan, that's all well and good, but there's just on itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny little thing; Are you staying or not!?". In spite of popular demand, I'm staying! Sorry to keep you in suspense about that. ;)

I won't be able to post pics on my site until my mom finally fixes this stupid "Be Safe" piece of junk. It's not only blocking photobucket.com, but it's blocking discovery.com for crying out loud! I need MythBusters reference pictures!

Anyway everybody, my uncle of about 95 years of age is coming over tomorrow. My mom really scared me with the fact that this will be my last time seeing him...well, ever. Even though this will be my first time meeting him as well, it still puts a lot of pressure on me, ya' know? I feel like I really need to impress him. (*sigh*), oh well, so much for Spring Break.

I'll see you guys later.

I was up until 2 last night lying awake in bed because I couldn’t sleep. Why? Because I realized that my parents don't respect me, and they never will. I do everything I'm told the first time, no matter how stupid or trivial it is, my grades are almost exemplarily, I have near perfect behavior, and I'm the head of freaking' Prayer Ring on the Internet. I'm being the best kid I can be. But is that good enough for them? No. They still monitor me like a paranoid nanny watching a toddler. I thought I had actually earned free-range over the internet. No, my mom installs this little "Be Safe" protection piece of crap. This is going to be just like that crappy block she has on my TV. It'll block stuff that it's not supposed to, and it'll not block stuff that it should. I'd think with my age, maturity, grades and behavior I would be allowed a little more freedom. I guess those molester perverts are just to smart for me. This piece of crap is also blocking www.photobucket.com. How stupid is that?

I thought that Spring Break would finally give me the ability to draw without having to plan it around my school schedule. Nope. Super mom does it again by giving me a fricken' bed time like a 2-year-old. I guess 11 on a weekend is too late for learning, drawing, praying.

After realizing how little my parents respect how much I've done, I couldn't sleep. I was angry to the point of being in tears (Ooh, teenage guys can cry? Big fricken' whoop) that I couldn't even sleep. I'll never be good enough for my parents, and they'll never understand me. Every time I finally pull out of a slump of depression they fling me back down into it at mach speed. They don't appreciate what I do for this family, what I do for God, what I do for the people around me. I bet my paranoid mom is reading this post right now. Well mom, if you are, just know that you've ruined my spring break, and you're ruining the last 4 years that I'll be living with you. Bravo.

And don't any of you give any of this "hope everything works out OK! Bye Bye!" BS. Don't talk to me unless you actually are one of the few people who care how I feel. If I were to be found dead in my bed tomorrow morning, I doubt more then 3 people would even shed a tear. Few people would miss me, barely anybody understands what I'm going through, and nobody, that's right, and NOBODY respects me. The only people I can successfully share my feelings with are a bunch of people on an anime art site that could be net-pervs for all I know. I'm just as pathetic as they come, aren't I?

I just don't care anymore. My parents must want me to feel sad all the time. They're the autocrats here, so if that's what they want, then that's what they'll get, one way or another. I'm sitting here whimpering like a puppy that's been hit with a hammer, so I guess they can consider their efforts a success. I try my hardest, and nobody cares. It's days like this that make me want to leave The Otaku. It would be one less reason for my parents to condemn the internet. Maybe I could use the time that I'm on the internet to foolishly attempt to please my parents. They always said that good behavior and age are rewarded with freedom and trust. BS. They never meant that, and if they love me so much then they need to show it. But if I were to stop using The Otaku, it would make me unhappy, and that in itself would make my parents happy. So I'm considering it as a distinct possibility.

I'm seriously ready to throw up right now I'm so angry. I can't win, and I can't be happy. I'm just gonna' get screwed over again and again and again, no matter what I do. I'll never get the respect or freedom I've earned, I'll never meet a good friend that'll really stick by me, and I'll never meet anyone that's more then a friend. Nobody appreciates what I am or what I've been raised to be, so maybe if I convert all my positive behavior into negative behavior, I'll be respected.

This is "AwesomeDude898" signing off and signing out, maybe for good if I don't decide against it. I'm going to flip off my computer for now, in both meanings of the term.

Sup' everybody? I'm on Spring Break! I love it! I'm going to have so much time to draw and ponder the mysteries of the universe! I was up until 2 (though my parents made me go to bed at 11. >:P I'm so sick and tired of them doing what's best for me. XD Just kidding!) last night drawing and Blendering. If you don't know what "Blender" is, it's a 3-D modeling and animation software package. There's a completely free download at www.blender3d.org, plus lots of tutorials. I highly recommend it! Anyway, on Blender, I made this really cool abstract sculpture that from most angles looks like a jumble of random shapes. But, if you look at it from one special angle, it looks like a cross! I think it's really cool!

And as for the turtle question yesterday. I'd like to congratulate Miyoko-chan and Flueky for guessing the correct turtle...

TAMA-CHAN! (*Myuh!*) I was right on the money that Miyoko-chan would know it (I would have mentioned that Flueky would know it to, but she's been busy lately and I didn't expect her to see this post). For those of you who don't know, Tama-chan is a flying hot-springs turtle from one of (if not the) best mangas ever, Love Hina. \m/^_^\m/

I thought I would post this drawing up for Miyoko-chan. I thought this was a great example of her simplified but wonderfully vibrant drawing style, as well as a sneak-peak of one of her stories (undisclosed weather it will be a manga or not).
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
This is Iami and Makoto. Iami is the heroine (ha, "heroine". That's a drug.), and Makoto is the villain. So why are they hugging? Let me quote Erin-chan on that: "they kinda have this twisted love-hate relationship". I don't know why, but something about that idea just got me hooked. The process of confused illogical and romantic feelings is always interesting to watch characters sort out. I can't wait to see more!

So onto the main course. I need your guy's help on something. I've noticed that almost every anime/manga has a one or two liner that describes the series and is often ironic or funny. Here are some examples:
Love Hina: "Love hurts"
Witch Hunter Robin: "Let the hunt begin"
Kenshin: "Live by the sword, die by the sword"
Full Metal Alchemist: "What are you willing to sacrifice?"
Megas XLR (though not technically anime): "Mischief ways a ton"

You get what I mean?
Anyway, I've been trying to come up with one for Ghost Hunter, and I think I've found some good ones.

I'm stuck between "Who ya' gonna' call?", and "Enter night" (Enter Sandman is the theme for my manga after all).

I think those are my 2 best ones, but I've thought up a lot more. So, which of the following do you like best?

"I Ain't 'Fraid of No Ghost"

"Speak of the Devil"

"Thou Shalt not be Afraid of the Terrors by Night"

"Just who's hunting who?"

"Keep the Faith"

"'Till the Sandman, he comes..."

"Say your Prayers"

"Darkness Walks"

"We're Off to Never-Never Land..."

"Tread lightly, for darkness follows closely behind"

"Join us, as we wait until it sleeps"

"Don't say a word"

"I banish thee back to whence you came"

"We all have our crosses to bear"

"Pray the Lord my soul to take"

"You don't scare me"

Please keep in mind that the central theme of Ghost Hunters is the power your faith has to protect you from the forces of evil. Your opinion will really help me out! Thank you so much for your time!

Thanks again, guys, and I'll see you tomorrow!

Hi everybody! I want to thank everybody who took yesterday's poll! (If you haven't already seen it or taken it, please do. It's not too late, and it would really help me out) those of you who took it really gave some great answers! I was particularly impressed with your answers to the first 4 questions (the ones about interpreting song lyrics). #2 was probably the hardest one, and you came really close to nailing it!
Since there may be a few people who are yet to take the quiz, I won't give away the answers for #1-4. But, weather you've taken the test yet or not, these should help you out. I took the section of the song that contained the lyrics I gave you so you could hear how...well, how it sounded.

Here's question #1:

"

And here's question #2:
"

I couldn't get the audible segments from #3 or #4, since I don't own those songs. Sorry.
Tomorrow I'll post what the songs are supposed to mean (though I'm just asking you to interpret the lyrics, so there's no right or wrong answer within reason), along with some closure to some of the more confusing questions.
I see that nobody made a run for the bonus of identifying the songs, though. Since they're given away by the little Media-player tabs, I'll just get #1 and #2 out of the way:
#1 was "Disposable Heroes", and #2 was "The Shortest Straw", both of which are by Metallica. \m/^_^\m/ You can still try #3 and #4! Hint: Both of those are also by Metallica. ~_'

Artwork that Deserves a Mention :

Check out these awesome Easter-themed pics! The first is by Akane the Fox, and the second is by The-Pie!

And this amazing sketch work is supposed to have been done by ElfofHyrule, but she has recently been accused of stealing this pic. So until we know if she's the real artist, let's praise whoever the real artist may be. (I'd also like to dedicate the posting of this pic to our EAMR, as well as all you other awesome LOZ fans)

Blurbs :
*In case you've been hiding under a rock for the past few days, Lindsey is back on The Otaku and healing as we speak! She is also home from Spring Break meaning she is now back to her turbo-internet! But Lindsey currently has 80 PM's to go through, so if you need to send her something that is not an emergency, you may want to wait a day or 2.
*Miyoko-chan is back on The Otaku as well (just got back from a church conv. and then an anime conv.), and has submitted several new pics with more on the way!
*Adam has recently revamped some of The Otaku's structure, and leaves some convenient new features to be explored!

And on a very small side-note, I have something to chew on for some of you fellow anime fans. Recently in biology, we took notes which contained the 4 terms for species parts: The anterior, posterior, the dorsal or something, and something else. Basically just fancy names for top, bottom, front and back. Any who, we had to draw 4 small pics of an organism showing front, back, side and top. I chose to do a turtle, since it's pretty simple. Here's the challenge: Can anyone guess which turtle I drew? I'll bet you dollars to dip-switches that Miyoko-chan will get this one right. ~_'

Oh, and one last thing. Many people say that my polls are a bit too long. Is that true? Would you be willing to answer shorter polls, but do it more often?

Thanks everybody, and I'll see you tomorrow!

Hi everybody! Are you guys having a good Easter? I was a bit depressed this morning, but after church I'm feeling better! I don't know why, but I feel that a lot of people are forgetting the real meaning of Easter. Just in case you forgot, here's why we celebrate Easter (my apologies to those of you who actually know what we're celebrating): This is about the 1,972nd or so anniversary of when Jesus rose from the dead after whooping Satan's @$$ for the keys to Heaven and before that being crucified as a heretic on Friday afternoon (Good Friday). What eggs have to do with the most important event in the process of our salvation, I have no idea. They seem to be just another meaningless object to detract from a God-centered holiday, they may even have pagan origins. Thus, the title of the post. It makes me mad when people focus on frivolous traditions that surround a holiday rather then looking at the important spiritual meaning. Oh well, their loss.

If you didn't see yesterday's post, please take a look (It'll be worth your while. Karen is sooooooooooooooooooooo cute!)

And if you haven't seen the Quote of the Week yet or the new quote under the Prayer Ring Banner (made by the ever-so-talented Karen), please see those as well.

OK everybody, I've got a little survey/poll/what-ever for all you anime fans! Thank you so much for taking the time to do these. Like I've said, these help me a HUGE amount with my manga work.

*Though few should, some questions may make you feel a bit uncomfortable. If that is the case with any question, you are entitled to skip it.
*Please number your answers.
*You may write as much or as little as you want. (Though the more in-depth your answers are, the more they will help me)

Instructions for #1-4:
I will give you a small section of lyrics from a song (bonus points to anyone who can tell me the song's name and artist! :D ). From the lyrics I give you, tell me what you think the song is about or what it means.

1. "Barking of machinegun fire, does nothing to me now
Sounding of the clock that ticks, get used to it somehow
More a man, more stripes you bare, glory seeker trends
Bodies fill the fields I see
The slaughter never ends”

2. "Suspicion Is Your Name
Your Honesty to Blame
Put Dignity to Shame
Dishonor
Witch hunt Modern Day
Determining Decay
The Blatant Disarray
Disfigure
The Public Eyes' Disgrace
Defying Common Place
Unending Paper Chase
Unending
Deafening
Painstaking
Reckoning
This Vertigo it Doth Bring"

3. "Just like a curse, just like a stray
You feed it once and now it stays"

4. "These are the eyes that can't see me
These are the hands that drop your trust
These are the boots that kick you around
This is the tongue that speaks on the inside
These are the ears that ring with hate
This is the face that'll never change
This is the fist that grinds you down
This is the voice of silence no more"

Instructions for #5-21:
This is just basic Q&A.

5. What is the definition of a "Bishonen"? What separates a "Bishonen" from other anime guys? Who are a few examples (if you haven't given any already)?

6. What is a "Bishojo"? What separates them from other anime girls? Who are a few examples (if you haven't given any already)?

7. Have you seen the film "Donnie Darko"? If you have, what is it about?

8. Are you familiar with any satanic or demonic symbols? If so, what do they look like?

9. Are you offended by manga/anime that involves a (satanic) cult, even if the cultists are the antagonists (bad guys)?

10. Name the most bizarre or random object in your room at the moment. (I stole this question from Karen! XD )

11. Name 5 articles of clothing you are wearing right now. (I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm not being a pervert! I'm just trying to get an average of what is considered casual clothing! But if you still think I'm being a perv, you can skip this question)

12. What are the funniest messages you've seen on t-shirts?

13. Is there anyone in your life that you would call a hypocrite? If so, who and why?

14. Is there anyone in your life that you would call shallow? If so, who and why?

15. Do you love life?

16. "The (nearly) empty can rattles the most". What do you believe that quote means?

17. What do you do when you need to clear your head?

18. Do you run from your problems, or do you fight them?

19. Have you ever been so sad, worried, angry or depressed to the point of crying, but felt that you didn't have that "shoulder to cry on"? If so, when and why?

20. Do you respect men that write poetry, or do you find it uncharacteristic of men?

21. What's your favorite genre of movie?

A. Romance
B. Comedy
C. Action
D. Sci-fi Action
E. Horror
F. Documentary

Thank you so much guys! This is really helping me in the development stages of my manga studies!

Thanks again, and I'll see you tomorrow!

   Great news, everybody.
EAMR is out of the hospital! Isn't that great!? She's doing just fine! Her wrist still needs to heal, but she'll be drawing again in no time! Actually, (you won't believe this) she already is drawing! Just how unbelievably talented is this woman!? Just out of surgery, and she does a request for someone! I am in total awe! She drew this by switching between her numb, painful and bandaged left hand and her non-dominant right hand, and it's still better the anything I could ever have done!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Just look at the colors! The folds in Cloud's shirt look perfect! And check out the layers and shading she used in the hair! It looks exactly like Cloud's hair color. The shoes, gloves and particularly the belt look like they're really made from...well, whatever material you make them out of (I forget what it's called. ^^;). The anatomy was done in perfect proportion and has some incredibly intricate shading. Now look at the BG. Those stars look awesome! It looks just like the starry nights in Final Fantasy! And the positioning of the moon looks great with Cloud's pose! Isn't that so cool! I'm not even going to start myself on that grass. Its quality speaks for itself.
Unbelievable job, Lindsey! Please check this piece out and vote & comment!

For those of you who don't know, Karen (Living Doll) has been making a very awesome Rei cosplay costume. She's posted some pics of her work-in-progress on her site, but I'll steal some of her site hits by showing them to you here! >:p (By the way, I was kidding, Karen. ^_^).

"We don't need no education...da-duh-da-da-duh-da-duh...all in all, it's just another...brick in the wall". (See? Now not only am I stealing her hits and her pics, but I'm stealing her jokes to! >:D )

How cute is that!? She's just so huggable!
(*ahem*), sorry about that. My estrogen level got a tad high there, didn't it? Regardless, it’s an awesome costume! This just goes to show how multi-facetted Karen's talent is. I wouldn't know where to start on a project like that! Please visit her site and get the full scoop on it!

Oh, and check out this kick-@$$ pic of Kakashi that inuyashaandsora drew for me!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
The detail is so awesome!

If you haven't checked out the Quote of the Week yet, please do.

Alright, here's the first round of my Q&A!

Ask AwesomeDude :

Q: MysteriousChild asks:
"Do you have good buns or bananas?"

A: /:( Say what? XD By that I hope you mean food. If you are referring to that as food, then yes, I have great buns and bananas over here. I love those for breakfast! But, if you mean that as a sexual innuendo, then the answer is still yes. XD

Q: Miyoko-chan asks:
"Boxers or briefs?!".

A: Boxers all the way, baby! I love those Joe Boxers!

Q: Living Doll asks:
"If you had to cosplay at an anime convention, what character would you dress up as?"

A: Hmmmmmm. If I could do original anime, I would be Shifter from my manga (he's based off of me after all). But otherwise, I could pass myself off as Neo from The Animatrix. I know it's a lame choice, but I don't look enough like anybody from the other cooler animes to make a good cosplay (though Josh tells me I look a lot like Kietaro from Love Hina).

Q: Living Doll also asks:
"What's your favorite subject in school?"

A: Lunch! XD No, really, I like science the best. Physical science, that is. I just love turning laboratory supplies into a weapon of mayhem, like The MythBusters!

Q: Living Doll also asks:
"Do you have any ideas on what you want to do after high school?"

A: I sure do! I'm going straight to college (though I haven't decided between an art or a tech school). I want to study graphic design, electronic programming and psychology.

And by the way, if you didn't already see this, please tell me what you think of this little chibi Andrea doodle (Andrea is from my manga).

Thanks guys, and I'll see you tomorrow!

Hi everybody. I've put up a new quote of the week. This week it's from the manga I'm developing. Cool. ^_^d

Please continue to pray for EAMR and Mark, as well as everyone else on the prayer list.

*sigh*, no new video-card today, and I have that crap-tacular swim tomorrow. If only she'd just let me do homework instead of making me do stupid aerobics and bookwork. This sucks.

I really don't have much more to post about, so I'll leave you with a new idea for my posts:
Vile Phantom and recently Living Doll and Flueky have done a section where anyone who leaves a comment is free to ask a quick question and have it answered by the next post. Don't feel at all obligated to ask a question, but I'd be happy to answer it. It can be anywhere from serious to completely random (i.e.: "What color is your underwear?", "Is toast more likely to fall butter-side down?", "Where's your crown, King Nothing?", or stuff that bizarre). I've seen that those kinds of questions appear frequently, especially on Dave's site. So you are free to ask weird questions. But remember, I live by the policy of "If you ask a silly question, you get a silly answer". This will give me a chance to add some humor, just like Dave does!

See you guys tomorrow!

Hi everybody. What's up? No word from Lindsey yet. I really hope that she and Mark are doing OK.

Well, I got Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 for Christmas 2 and 1/2 months ago, and it's taken us until now to find a new video card to make it work. So now we've tried all available video cards, and it still doesn't work. I really wanted to be able to play it over Spring Break. *sigh*, I'm really bummed about the whole thing, and that's on top of Lindsey and Mark and health class. I haven't told you about health class, have I?

One of the reasons I was so depressed last Friday was because of health. Every once-in-a-while we take a "swim-break". That's when we take one class to go and swim in the indoor pool (usually used for swim practice). I don't like swimming that much to begin with, but recently I've been feeling particularly insecure about how I look. I'm skinny enough that you could probably see my heartbeat. And everybody says "nobody's judging you". Psh, that's a bunch of bull. People are already judging me when I have my shirt on.
We have another "swim-break" on Thursday, and I'm already dreading it. If we don't swim, then we have to turn ourselves over to the worst teacher at our school. She always makes us do strenuous, meaningless and repetitive exercise or will make us do tedious and tiresome book work THAT WE'VE ALREADY DONE. So I'm trying to decide which is the lesser of the 2 evils: Embarrass myself at the pool, or take it as is comes with la profesora de diablo. *sigh*, I hate it.

We had to dissect large shrimp today in Biology. It was GROSS. I hate digging my fingers into the squishy and diseased membranes and pustules inside a creature that spent its life swimming in its own toilet. And you can never get your hands clean like they should be because the geniuses at the head office don't give the school hot running water. I'm petrified of biting my nails now. And my nice but nerdy lab-partner wasn't much help. He picked it up and tried to scare the girls stationed next to us. John's a great kid, but he has no idea how to stay on the down-low and blend in, and I think he's dragging me down with him.

But that's enough boring crap from me, here's something you'll actually find interesting:

This was submitted by my good friend AmiGouchi, who will be returning to The Otaku very soon!

Thanks guys, and I'm sorry if I get on your nerves.

Hi everybody. EAMR is in surgery today. I'm really praying for her as well as Mark. They both really have me worried.

But if either were here right now, they'd of course want us to pray, but they wouldn't want us to be sad or worried. It sounds like quite the cliché', but it's true.

I posted this pic a few posts back, but it took me a little while to fix what was going on with photobucket.com (thanks to all the people who helped me out! Thanks guys! ^_^d). Here's a repost of those photos from a hic wedding. How many redneck stereo-types can you spot? Keep in mind that these were digitally altered, but that doesn't mean they're not funny!

I was really impressed by this anime/videogame crossover pic by SakuraStar. It's the Super Elric Bros.! I can't tell if that's Winry or Sgt. Hawkeye as Princess Peach though.
