Great. Just Great.
Yo everybody. Just a quick post today. xxasl90xx is really depressed over the flamers on this site that just decide to vote "no" on good artwork. Check out her artwork, it's awesome. Please visit her site and show her we like her. She says she'll leave The Otaku on Friday.

"Young men's love then lies not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes."
-from "Romeo and Juliet", By William Shakespeare
Amen, brother. I'd give my leg to see a couple at my age that wasn't monetary and completely based on looks and material possessions.
Why so negative? Well, today's Valentine's Day. And you know what that means, yep, more nerd rage from me. I had a sucky weekend, regardless of the fact that it was a 4-day weekend. But I won't bore you with the details.
Anywho, it's Valentine's Day. I get really, really pissed off around Valentine's day, and this passing week HAS NOT HELPED. I'm gonna' go let off some steam and go shoot scraped cars up at the junk yard with my Uzi (as soon as I find a scrapped car, and a junkyard, and an Uzi).
*sigh*, an aside to those of you who have something to celebrate today, they say it's good luck to eat something with honey. In the renaissance couples would drink some honey whine right after they were married, thus the term "honey-moon".
And for everybody wondering about my artwork, it'll be up sometime soon. Sorry for the delay.

Hey everybody! Akane, if you're reading this post, please know I have finished the pic I said I would draw for you. But, I don't think this pic is my best work, so I'll draw another pic for you to make up for it, OK? Never the less, I'll post the first pic tomorrow, alright?
Anyway, 7zeen leaves tomorrow. (*sniff*), I hate it when friends have to leave. I've had a less then good day yesterday and today, but I'm not going to waste your time with the details. Instead, I have an artistic question for you guys that need suggestions. Here's my dilemma:
As you know I'm developing my manga (Ghost Hunter) in a steady but improving fashion. I need your help developing the appearance of Shifter. Shifter is a meta-human with complete control over his body's malleability and elasticity, making him a polymorphic shape-shifter. The problem is, Shifter is one of those stretchy super-heroes (like Plastic Man, Elongated Man, Mr. Fantastic, etc.), so he needs a full body suit that stretches along with him. Tell me, what should his outfit look like? I was originally leaning towards a suit segmented into two different colors to give the resemblance of separate pieces of clothing, the shirt being blue and the gloves, pants and boots being white. But recently I've tried a new design that's looking really cool. The gloves and boots stay white, but the shirt and pants are both black. These segments are then visually separated by a white ring around the waist. But the problem with a black suit is that it takes a lot of filing in with a pencil, and Shifter will be all over the place with his powers. That would take forever to fill in! So does anyone have any suggestions/ideas/solutions? I'd love to hear anything you'd like to say.

Bad News, Guys.
Hi everybody. I was going to post something really cool, but I'll push that back to tomorrow. Right now I've got some bad news:
7zeen is leaving The Otaku on Friday. Why is it that all the people who leave or think about leaving are the good artists? Why haven't Milkycat or Kayke kicked the website bucket yet? And it always is a friend that I've neglected, but didn't know I was neglecting until I thought about them leaving? She even made this card for me, in spite of the fact that I wasn't there for her
Vankala 86 was thinking about leaving, and that should have shown me that I should pay equal attention to all my friends. Speaking of Vankala, she's also in need of prayer. For an undisclosed reason, she has been feeling rather depressed today. However, I don't recommend visiting her site right now because she specifically said for the time being that she would not like to talk about it. Never the less, we can pray for her, and I'll do so.
But this really is pointless to focus on the bad stuff, cause' I got some good news for you guys!:
Vankala 86 (her name is Rosa by the way) found the cat that her Vet. teacher lost!
xSakurax is feeling better thanks to the messages and prayers of you guys!
Though I don't know if she is in actuality feeling better or not, I've started the pic I'm doing for Akane! And it's looking good!
And good news for all you fangirls! ElvesAteMyRamen is doing a photo-realistic version of Inuyasha! With his shirt off! Naturally, I love ElvesAteMyRamens's art, but I think you girls will enjoy this a smiiiiiiiiidgin more then us guys will. XD
Alright guys, please pray for Rosa and 7zeen. And make sure to stop by tomorrow!

Yo everybody. This is the third day of my sub-conscience being held hostage by "Pink Floyd, The Wall". So today I'm gonna' tie up all the loose ends.
My buddy Isaac from Health class said you have to be on acid to enjoy that movie (and he should know! XD Sorry Isaac!). But here's the DVD box if you're interested:
And here's that awesome picture of the marching hammers one more time.
Anywho, yesterday Lindsey (ElvesAteMyRamen, baby!) was talking about what most of us manga-lovers experience. You ever have a certain page or group of pages that looks so cool you have to just stop and look at it for a while? Well, I know the feeling. Usually what does it for me are those scenes with romantic elements in one of my favorite mangas, Love Hina. (Yes, you heard right. A straight teenage guy likes things that deal with emotion. I like explosions to, but romance is awesome as well. Deal with it). But anyway, I Thought this frame was incredible. Check it out:
Awwwwww, that's so cute. (That's right, I'm over the cute thing. So what?) I'm not this far in the series, whether this is the finale or a blatant fantasy, I don’t know. So if YOU know, don't tell me!!! Don't spoil the ending!
So, do any of you have a particular manga or anime moment that made you step back and go, "Wooooow"?

Reverse side of the Wall.
Yo everybody. I have some people to add to the prayer list:
Akane the Fox
Akane has been feeling pretty sick and a little depressed lately (info on her site). But, she did say that something that would really make her feel better. Though she doesn't like to ask people, she would love for us to submit a cool pic of her characters Akane and/or Mark. I think I'll do just that!
Vankalla86
Info is on her site about a bit of a mishap with her Vet. class. Let’s all hope she can find that cat before the owners need her!
Anyway, I was talking to my neighborhood acquaintance Haley who's seen "The Wall". Here's what I found out:
Apparently, the marching hammers are supposed to represent Nazism.
The monolithic scary thing with the t-crosses flying out of it as well as the giant robot eagle are supposed to represent the song "Good-bye Blue Sky".
The giant praying mantis apparently turns into a flower, which has sex with another flower. "Slam, bam, thank you mam'!".
She also said it was really scary. Some dude apparently shaved his head and became a Nazi, after shaving his nipples off. That's right, OFF. As in, "BuZzZzZzZzZzZz. Woo-hoo! Bye-bye Nipple!".
Yes, beyond weird, huh?

Hey everybody! If you didn't see yesterday's post, please check it out! (Lindsey is the master, baby!)
Anyway, I missed church again today. -_-' That's like the 3rd week in a row! I better go soon, or else my tithe debt is gonna' start collecting interest! XD
Anyway, a movie just came out remastered on DVD. I bring this up because I want to know if anybody has any info on this movie. Have any of you ever seen or heard of the film, "Pink Floyd, The Wall"? I remember a while back they mentioned it on I Love the 80's, and it was pretty freakin' weird!
Here's what I know so far:
It was really artsy, using a WHOLE LOT of Pink Floyd music.
It had something to do with grinding kids up into a military style meat. This led to the quote in the movie, "You have to eat your meat to get pudding! How could you have pudding if YOU DON"T EAT YOUR MEAT!?!?!?"
It had some sort of theme about forced conformity and rebelling against said forced conformity.
It was known for its bizarre, almost frightening animated sequences, the most famous of which was the hammers marching in military style. Here's a pic of what I'm talking about.
Does anybody know anything about this bizarre movie? It's really creeping me out.
Anywho, I have a quick favor to ask you guys. xSakurax is feeling a bit depressed. She feels a bit insecure about her meanings toward others. Please visit her site and talk with her.
Thanks guys, and please keep Sakura in your prayers, along with the others on our prayer list.

Check this artwork out!
Yo everybody! Lindsey (ElvesAteMyRamen if you don't already know) has posted yet another incredible pic! I would have posted this yesterday after my updated list, but Lindsey deserves more recognition then that. It would have been unfair to her and her artwork to just tack her on to the end of my post like that. So, I'm going to take today to show you guys her great artwork!
This is another one of those pics you have to see to believe, so here it is!
Now Lindsey, I know what you're probably going to say. You're going to go into thanking me for posting your work here and that I'm a great guy for reviewing this and looking deeper into your art. Well, before you do, it really isn't true. This is your artwork, and it should be YOUR credit, not mine. You spent time and effort on this piece, not me. All I'm doing is spreading the word of your awesome artwork. I don't deserve ANY credit for just showing people how awesome it is. So stop being so humble and get some of the glory that you honestly deserve (you deserve even more in my opinion)! The whole reason I put these up here and review them is so I can help you get that credit. You’re an insanely talented artist, and I'm going to see to it that the world knows.
OK, so here's my review of the piece. I was absolutely amazed by this pic. The level of detail is unbelievable. Just look at something as simple as the facial shapes and skin shading. Lindsey got the skin toning and shadows 100% perfect on this piece. She even knows that if the lighting is in the right position, cheeks can cast shadows. Just look at Kaoru's face. The shadows are so intricate and perfect, it looks like it's in 3D. The folds of the clothing are probably hell and high water to draw, but it looks like I could honestly reach out and touch the fabric of their kimonos. Look at the texture, don't they look so soft and silky? I could never draw clothing like that. Now on to the lighting. Look at the low-level reflectivity Lindsey put into the hair, eyes and clothing. That is exactly how those things act with light, it's perfect. Lindsey is also famous for her nigh-infinite shading layers. If you look close enough, you’ll see she even put layers and multiple shades on Kenshin's scar. This isn't even a close-up! That's talent if I've ever seen it.
Now let's take a quick summary of the subject-mater and context. Examine their expressions. It's like you can not only immediately tell what each character is feeling, but it's like you can feel it along with them. Lindsey did an unbelievable job on the facial expressions, right down to the blush shade in Kenshin's cheeks (look closely, it's there). Now if you're a Kenshin fan like me and Lindsey, you'd recognize that ribbon as Kaoru's favorite indigo ribbon. Kaoru let Kenshin borrow it before his fight with Ja-ne. The reason behind this was that this ribbon was Kaoru's prized possession, so not only was it to remind Kenshin that he has people that care about him, but it was also a fail-safe thought up by Kaoru to make sure Kenshin couldn't leave without saying good-bye. Aw, such a sweet story. But, Lindsey revived this classic idea without even coming close to copying it. You can interpret this piece in any way you feel it applies, and even think up a story that explains it. It's this interpretation flexibility that is one of the reasons that Lindsey is such a great artist, as also seen with the background of her Immortal Rain pic.
All in all, this is just further proof that Lindsey is THE best artist I've ever seen. But in top of that, when you get to know her, you'll also find she's also one of the kindest, sweetest, smartest, funniest, most cheerful people ever. I just wish there were more people like her in the world.

The list so far, and mor suggestions please!
Hey everybody! The list is coming along! Here are the moments I have on the list so far (but I'll need more!):
Yu-Gay-Oh!:
It's a matter of opinion, but I can't stand Yu-Gi-Oh. I doubt any other anime has spawned more sick "yaoi" pairs. But the gayness goes even deeper then that. How gay? Kid show gay, as in for little kids. Another great anime reduced to entertaining 2nd graders. As usual, 4kids productions proves that they can screw-over any deal given to them. Bravo.
The Hellsing battle from Hell:
Father Anderson vs. Alucard. Ding ding! Fight! This was a wonderful idea, except for one flaw. There was no ending. Who's the best? What happened? Sadly, we may never know.
Enigma-yasha:
One of the best animes ever cut short with no closer. The creators are leaving us in the dark, and the producers are leaving us holding the pieces. I feel so cold.
Fight Like a Man:
"Dang man, Haku is one hot ninja. Hmmm? What? .....I'm sorry, what??? WHAT THE CRAP?!?!? SHE'S A DUDE!?!? Holy crap! Uh oh, does that mean I'm gay?" XD
Hamming it Up:
One overly cute anime, 4 sucky videogames. Huzzah for merchandizing.
Deep Seeded Treachery:
Gundam Seed had some awesome animation. But that gift was abused using a very incompatible couple. Flay, Kira, and a bed. "Slam, Bam, thank you mam!".
The Brothers Moxy:
The Seven Brother Group story was an awesome epic in the already epic Inuyasha series. But there was something not quite right about that one chick from that story. Oh, that's right, the problem was that she was a friken' dude!!! And, he/she had a massive crush on Inuyasha! Gender bender ahoy!
Just me and my Bu:
For those of you who don't know, Bu was a massive regenerating pink demon. Annoying as crap on his own, but he was around for a long, long time. Sure, Bu could regenerate, so that gives him a little give in this situation. But when you come back again, and again, and again, and AGAIN for like 40 episodes, it gets a little redundant! If I never see another pink Marshmallow Peep again it'll be too soon!
Domo Arigato Mrs. Roboto:
I'm not sure if the series finale for Chobits was completely morally developed. It's great to think that love conquers all, you gotta' draw the line somewhere. Like when you love a household appliance (a Persacom). Artificial intelligence is still intelligence, but artificial love is just programming, and that's why a man can't love a machine. Plus, you'd have a bunch of cyborg babies if you wanted to have kids. Eggh. But, even if you look past that, the ending still sucked. Hideki realizes he loves Chi, takes her hand, looks longingly into her eyes.............and they hug, they freakin' hug. Boring! Kiss her, you ding-dong! Do something a bit more sentimental then that! I mean, your gonna' foster a bunch of cyborg babies with this mecha-woman! Show her you love her!
Live and Let Die:
Apparently, the mythical Dragon Balls are powerful enough to reverse the spiritual passing God has set into place for the last 20,000 years. But besides being biblically inaccurate, it was also lame. There's no consequence of dying when you have those things. No risk, no wager, no fun. Feh, why didn't you use them to kill Bu or something?
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Oh, and make sure you stop by tomorrow!
