Did You Miss Me?
Hello.

I know I haven't been around for a while, but at least I come back with a new fan art.
It's a Naruto fan art, as requested by ocunio (request posted in my Guestbook).

It took me a while to do it, first because I was busy doing other requests at the time, and second because I had several problems to solve before doing the art:

1. I never watched Naruto series, or read Naruto manga before, so I had to get acquainted with the story first.

2. The request was specific about drawing five characters, but three of them were obligatory: Naruto, Sasuke and Gaara. I had to choose the other two. I decided on Sakura almost as soon as I started reading manga and I think she has to have her place besides Naruto and Sasuke. I had great trouble deciding who to put as a fifth character in the picture. Finally I decided on Shikamaru because he gives a good balance to the characters in the art. That is because three obligatory characters all have special abilities (monsters inside or an advanced bloodline) and a difficult childhood, while Sakura has only her brain and her trained skills (and both parents), so I thought it would be nice to place someone more like her in the art. I decided on Shikamaru because he seems quite a normal kid, with his brain as his strongest weapon. Besides, since Sakura will become a medical ninja later in the story, I thought I could make these five like a team (needing a good leader – the one that was the first to become a chuunin).
I decided to draw them all as they were introduced early in the story because that's the time when Sasuke was still in the Leaf village.

3. There was also a problem of fire weapons that was requested. Almost as soon as I started to get acquainted with the story I noticed that these sorts of weapons aren't used by characters at all. You will notice that I drew Naruto holding his right hand over the sword (I imagined him using his jutsu on the sword). I think it turned out well (although Naruto has a wind type chakra). You will notice that a sword reminds somewhat of InuYasha's Tetsusaiga. That's because Naruto reminds me a lot of InuYasha. As for Sasuke, he has a fire type chakra, so fire jutsu suits him well. I thought flaming shurikens suite Sasuke more than a sword, so you'll see one floating in each Sasuke's hand.

I hope I didn’t bore you with my explanation, but I thought this fan art needed a small “getting into” to be truly understood.

Hopefully there will be a lot of comments. I am curious to see what others think of my choice of characters.

Getting Into The Story
I am starting to get into this Naruto story.
The fan art request included Naruto, Sasuke and Gaara, plus two other characters.
One of them will definitely have to be Sakura, for she is part of the team with Naruto and Sasuke. I can already imagine expressions on their faces: Naruto with a silly, self-confident smile, Sasuke with his serious "above the situation" expression and Sakura with half-worried look, a little behind these two.
I am still not sure about Gaara. I'll have to read more manga before I get into his character. I cannot simply draw face, without getting into the character himself (can you imagine Sesshoumaru in my "Sesshoumaru & Kagura" fan art smiling or even blushing - IMPOSSIBLE! I even thought the request was a little daring, since Sesshoumaru is not a "romantic" type, and although I accepted the request, I still had to keep his character, otherwise it would simply not be him).
It's the same with Naruto characters. I don't want to simply draw characters requested and randomly add two others, without getting into the characters and the story.
Therefore I am still unsure who to add as the fifth character in my fan art, but you can be sure that it will be someone connected with the characters, drawn so that it makes sense to add him/her to this particular group.
I am also wondering about the requested fire swords (or something flaming) they are supposed to be holding. It simply doesn't seem like a type of weapon they would use. I will have to make it look natural somehow. I have a faint idea how to do it.
It might seem to you that I am giving it too much thought. I could have done the request by now. But, I don't think my art would be any good without considering all these facts.
Therefore I must ask all of you who eagerly await my next fan art to have a little patience and on my side I promise to do the best I can. :)

DONE!!!
I never expected it would take this long, but I finally completed the InuYasha fan art requested by mexiclan13.
The weather is cooler too, so I think I will be able to do my next art faster.
The trouble is, I never actually watched Naruto series, so I will have to explore around The Otaku and internet a little before I start to draw.
Still, I will do my best to mach the request posted in my Guestbook by ocunio.

I Could Screeeaaaaam!
I was away for the weekend and I hoped to welcome you all with a completed fan art today, so I started working as soon as I found the time.
Unfortunately, I made an error while saving, so I lost almost half of my work (luckily, being a computer freak, I always have backup copies of what I do, otherwise I would have to start over).
Although it is a relief that not all is lost, I am now to nervous and angry to continue to work, so I guess my art work will not be posted today.
I must say I am very sorry for that, but it can't be helped.
I hope to complete and post my new fan art tomorrow (if nothing unexpected happens).

Annoying
I am slowly, but steadily getting annoyed by a single negative rating on my two latest fan arts.
As I stated in one of my earlier posts, whoever doesn't like my work PLEASE COMMENT!!!

I announce that my next art will be InuYasha and Miroku (as described in my Guestbook by mexiclan13) and I hope who ever doesn't like my work will be nice enough to post a suggestion as to how would he/she like to see this picture done.
If not, I will post it the way I see it and (if I'm given negative rating again) I hope he/she will have enough decency to tell me why.

Hot Summer
I can't believe this summer!
I live in a city that lies at about 500 m above sea level and usually the summers are not unbearably hot (like this one). I can't even think straight!!!
Perhaps that will slow down my art work a little, but don't worry, nothing can stop me from drawing :P.
To prove that, there is a request made by W.I.T.C.H. available in my fan art section.
I must warn you all that I am Kagome fan, so InuYasha and Kikyo are just talking (nothing else) and the art is named "Love Lost Forever".
I hope Kikyo fans will not be offended, but they should realize that Kikyo is dead and Kagome is alive and near and lovely and loves InuYasha very much (and they must admit that he loves her too).
I must say I am quite anxious to see comments on this picture.

Picture Rating
I find it sad that the picture rating for my latest fan art is 94%. That means that someone didn't like my work. :(
I wish the person who did it posted a comment so that I would know why I was given a negative rating.
I appreciate everyone's opinion, but it would be nice to know why anyway.
Well, no time to be sad. I must complete InuYasha and Kikyo for W.I.T.C.H., and I see a new request posted in my Guestbook today. Busy, busy...

InuYasha Fan Arts
I added a new InuYasha fan art today. I must apologize to W.I.T.C.H., for it was not her request that I did first, but the request of a person that is not the Otaku member.
Considering she is my greatest critic and my greatest fan (being my sister might have something to do with it) I did her request first.
I will start working on your request now, W.I.T.C.H. I hope to post it in a day or two.

Kingdom Hearts Request Completed!
It took hours of work (and about 140 layers), but my new Kingdom Hearts - Halloween fan art is finally complete. You will notice that not all the characters wear their Halloween Town costumes, but the request was specific about that (I was allowed to choose a costume for Riku and I think the Dark Magician suits him perfectly).
Coming next - InuYasha fan art again. I think there are no series that have so many fans. :)
