Part 8
Two more posts (including this one) and things will start getting interesting again. Perfect, if you were planning on going away for the weekend. For those staying, I hope you'll like the parts I post, even if there isn't action there.

Before I post this part, I just wanted to thank all those who visit me every day and comment my posts and fan art *hugs all*.

Here I go:

Chapter I /Section 2/ (Part 8)

      - Ahhh! Again! You just daydream!
Her smile was replaced by a serious, caring expression, which was also not uncommon for Adila.
      - Tell me what bothers you. I thought we were friends.
The thought that she cared about his feelings gave him joy. He didn't know why. She cared about everyone. Finally, he said:
      - I think it's time for me to think about going back.
      - Going back?
      - Yes, to Adem.
      - Why? You said it was occupied by Ilderins.
      - That's precisely why. I have to know what happened to the others. Perhaps there are still survivors. There is certainly someone who is still fighting for our world. Perhaps I can find them and help them.
      - So, you're not afraid that Ilderins might hurt you?
      - They will surely try.
      - But, if you don't know if there are any survivors and where they are, you could be killed before you find them. Don't you think you will preserve more of Adem if you stay and survive?
He gave her a surprised look. This kind of attitude was uncommon for her. Noticing his puzzled look, Adila got confused, noticed insecurely that she had forgotten something and hurried home. He didn't follow her. With a slow pace, he went towards the beach. Looking at the horizon, deep in his thoughts again, and again feeling restless, this time stronger than ever, he didn't even notice when professor Ulfet appeared by his side.
      - I hear that you attend to go back to Adem.
      - Yes.
      - You will need a good ship and a crew...
      - No. I don't want to bring any of you in danger. If Ilderins take you as a threat...
The professor placed a hand on his shoulder.
      - Did you consider the possibility not to bring yourself in danger? You are still young, what great change would you bring even if you do go back? Where would you go? Whom would you turn to? How would you prevent falling into the hands of your enemies? You will achieve nothing by letting them kill you. Why don't you stay for awhile and think about it?
He tapped him shortly on his shoulder and left him thoughtful.
To stay for awhile... To think... But I am thinking! I think every day and I still can't find peace! What do I do!? Dad! Are you alive? Alemdar, Bariz, Durak,... Mom...
The morning broke fresh and sunny. The first snowflakes fell on the ground covered with dried leaves. Jelil was already prepared for the four seasons, and not just rainy and dry ones, like in his homeland. However, unlike the fall that caused an interest in him, the winter met him absorbed in much more anxious thoughts.
To go back and die? To stay and never learn what had happened? To wait? For how long?
This kind of questions kept going through his head. He couldn't find a single answer. What the professor said made sense, but his whole being craved to see, to find out... He decided. The professor was right; with his current knowledge and abilities, he wouldn't stand a chance. That is why he'll stay and practice. He regretted that he never had the opportunity to complete his military training. He had to train himself. He will separate a part of the time he spent helping the professor in his examinations and learning from him; and devote to whole-day training. He had no reason to abandon evening lessons with Adila. They will be a rest to him. He got up and went to find her father and tell him about his decision.
