Part 11
All right, it's time to start the third, and the last section of this chapter. As explained before, I'll continue numbering the parts until a whole chapter is complete. I hope you found the story interesting so far.
Chapter I /Section 3/ (Part 11)
***
Ilderins' aircrafts moved south. In one of them, separated by the force field, Jelil slowly started coming to his senses. He needed only a few minutes to remember everything that has happened and to realize where he was. He asked himself where they could be taking him. It was still unclear to him why did they let him live. He looked toward the windows at the front of the aircraft hoping to see something, but he was to far away. From here, all he could see was a blue sky dappled with clouds. He started looking around the aircraft's interior. It was poorly set: benches for the soldiers and several cabinets for the equipment. Four Ilderins' soldiers were sitting silently on the benches, with serious faces. There was no talking to them. He examined the space he was confined in carefully. He saw no possibility of escape. Therefore, he decided to wait and be alert. No matter how impossible it seemed, he might get his chance. Even if the slightest possibility arises, he didn't want to miss it.
After awhile of flight, an aircraft trembled and started to loose height. There was a slight commotion among the soldiers. One of them went to the pilot cabin to ask about the situation. In a short moment in which the door was open he managed to make out that the aircraft was switched to the modus of aero glider, and that they will be forced to land on Adem, as well as that the support was requested from the land forces to transfer the prisoner. Where to? That, he didn't manage to hear. In any case, this could be a good opportunity to escape. An aircraft soon landed, together with the escorting aircrafts. It was strange that all aircrafts had system failure at the same moment. Did they enter the area covered by the Adem's antiaircraft satellite? Impossible. They knew exactly what area the satellite covered. Ilderins stood up and one of them removed the force field around Jelil. It was a good moment to think of escape. He carefully observed the positions of other Ilderins' soldiers as they led him out of the aircraft. They were careful. Too careful. It seems that they didn't like his earlier attempt to escape. He saw no way to lose them this time, even for just a moment.
They transferred him into one of five freight vehicles in the convoy and set out south. It seemed that they had an intention of bringing him to Ilderin. He still didn't understand why. He searched through all his memories, but he couldn't find a motive. Suddenly, he experienced a short memory of Evening Light in flames. But the strange thing about that memory was that he saw himself, too, trying to swim out of the current, as if he was watching from inside the cave under the cliff. He knew that cave well, and he often saw the sea from it, but never before had he seen a burning city from there, and especially not himself, fighting to survive. The memory disappeared in a moment and he glanced at the Ilderins' soldiers to see if they had noticed anything. Their expressions were as indifferent as before. It seems that his astonishment was not visible on his face, and he was glad for it. Trying to calm down, he glanced through the window. He knew the road they were taking. He was using it several times to go to Colossus, the main economic center of the western Adem. For a short moment, it seemed to him as if he saw movement in a grove by the road. After a short glance at the others in the vehicle, he looked at the grove more carefully. However, this time he could notice nothing, and he has already started thinking that his nerves were playing with him, when the convoy suddenly stopped and all around armed men rushed at it, masked to their surroundings and equipped with contra-seekers.
