CSULB Essay sucks. I mean serioulsy.

A two-page essay (double spaced, 12 point font size) stating your reasons for applying to the President’s Scholars Program and how you plan to contribute to the California State University, Long Beach community of talented and diverse students and scholars.

I've never seen a topic so blunt. D: I feel like everytime I say something good about the school I'm sucking up and everytime I say something good about myself I'm boasting. :T

Actually I'm not a big fan of his o.x; I just drew him because I was looking through a magazine and thought the outfit looked interesting. But the detail is really hard. I haven't even started lol

Yesterday we went to Mitsuwa with Chris, Richard, and Jessica! It was great because it was the day after new year = discount mochi, after new year sales, and generally empty stores. :3 We also got to see a Taiko performance and Lion dance~. Other than that... Chris bought a pencil and a hat, Jessica bought a bag. Anddddd. I got a GINTAMA 2008 Calendar!

It's so cool...! :'D

Oh and my Daphne Loves Derby CD came in the mail today. :3 ♪ I want to run but you've got the gun pointed right at me~~ ♪

Speaking of which, I put up a music player, but it's all Korean rap lol. First two on the playlist is Epik High [&heart;], then Crown J, then MC Mong...!! I really want to learn Fan, the first song, but it's too fast for me and I can't memorize the lyrics T___T

I finally handed in my first Japanese lesson in the notebook! It's kind of a lot since I'm getting it back on Monday with my hopefully first Korean lesson~ ;o; I hope Richard doesn't teach me all curse words like Mike did with Spanish...! lol

Oh, and I found out my UCI friend actually considers me a friend now. Which is cool. Richard told me that I wasn't really his friend, and he had once said he doesn't have friends, so I thought I was just bothering him all the time with questions about college lol.

Haha I had more to say but.. can't remember now. o.x;

i'm waiting, waiting for nothing ♪
My Rooney CD came in the mail! :D It's really catchy. I've been listening to it all morning~.

Anyway, lately I've been feeling rather pessimistic. Hopefully things will look up for the new year. But probably not because THE PHYSICS FINAL SUCKS D': Yeah. haha. Hoping to get a C... at best. o.x;; Hate that class!! I MISS CHEMISTRY T____T

At this rate, I'm gonna fail physics, get my acceptance rescinded from the UC system, never get a job, and live homeless on the streets of LA for the rest of my short life :D lol. just kidding, of course. I can work at McDonalds!! :'D lol

No but seriously, I can't remember why I was so excited to get into AP Physics. AP Psychology was deceivingly easy. lol. But my main fear more than ANYTHING is getting below a C in physics. Which would really suck because that means all that hard work for nothing~ ;n;

Situation: A person of mass m falls from height h from rest. Assume the ground is a hard, evenly dense surface of height 0. Ignore air resistance.

a) At what speed (in meters per second) will the person be going the moment before he or she hits the ground?

b) What will the total impulse of the system equal?

c) What is the force that the person hits the ground with?

d) Is this an elastic or inelastic collision? How much energy is lost, if any?

Hey so I got kind of busy. Christmas drawings are gonna be coming CAMS-style: after break is over lol.

Anyway, everyone is doing this pro/con of the year thing so I thought I'd hop on the bandwagon and go ahead with it~. I kind of did this with my inflation/recession stuff on my livejournal a little while back, but here it goes again! :D I'm sure there's a lot more but my memory kind of sucks so~. ;;

PRO
-B in physics :'D
-4.0 for junior year~
-Got an acceptable SAT II Math 2C score..!
-Went to AX with friends/finished my cosplay
-Accepted to UCI, UCD, UCSB, UCR, Colorado School of Mines
-Got an Initial D card lol

Physics - getting there... not really lol. 3/5 now instead of 2/5 = enough for a D...!!

Anyway.

Been reading The Elephant Vanishes by Haruki Murakami, my favorite author. It's a book of short stories - and I decided I really don't like short stories, but the stories are starting to grow on me. I definitely recommend it - "The Second Bakery Attack," "On Seeing the 100% Perfect Girl One Beautiful April Morning," and "Sleep" really stood out to me. Particularly "Sleep," because it's about a woman who never sleeps and enjoys reading Russian literature. [We were reading Crime and Punishment when I first read the story lol]

Also been listening to a TON of Korean rap. A lot of MC Mong, Crown J, and TBNY, but mostly... Epik High! WHY ARE YOU SO GOOD AT RAPPING, TABLO? T____T If you get a chance, look up Fan on youtube. I swear, it's the most disturbing video ever, but it's probably one of Epik High's best songs. Not only is Epik High talented, but also Tablo is so smart~ :'D Well, he graduated from Stanford, so I'm kind of jealous. haha.

I noticed a lot of artists I like graduated from good colleges. Coincidence? o_O;

DUDE PHYSICS FINAL IS KILLING ME. T____T Haha I swear if there was ever a class that made me want to jump off a building, THIS IS IT. Isn't it more fun when you can calculate the force exerted on your body when you hit the ground? lol No but really, physics is the hardest class ever! D': I hate take home finals.

However, the calculus final looks very easy. :D

Anyway, yesterday I went to Six Flags~ It was really fun and there was a lot of new stuff since the last time I came in 2000. Tatsu is the coolest ride in the world :'D It was kind of freaky at first, but it's a really cool experience. We only got to 3 other rides but it was still fun. The pizza was pretty gross though XD; It was literally in a pool of oil. :T I guess you can't expect much from theme park food, though.

Then today was my friend's birthday party. We went bowling + laser tag. I suck at both but it was fun seeing everyone again :'D After we went to famima and drew stuff while eating mochi ice cream.

I was at the game store the other day and the owner somehow thinks that I'm from Japan, so he always greets me "Irasshaimase!!" and talks to me in Japanese and stuff. Which is okay because I can understand (but reply in English), but I think he REALLY doesn't understand that I'M FROM AMERICA.

Anyway, we were talking and all of a sudden this guy comes and tells me all about how he thinks it's SO cool that I'm from Japan and how he LOVES everything about Japan and all his plans to go live to Japan. =A= I normally just kind of politely nod and let them think Japan is flawless (still irks me xD), but honestly it was kind of creepy. I've never seen him before in my life, so... yeah. I just told him "uh.. I'm from California.." and walked away. It was weirdddd. Clearly, no one can tell when I speak English. T__T

Oh yeah, it's almost New Year! Meaning tons of weird traditional food (but also tons of good stuff, too) and lots of visitors~. It's always so hectic. Also Kohaku is coming up too~ Not looking forward to a ton of people... Ai Otsuka, Kobukuro, Kumi Koda, Nakashima Mika, KEN HIRAI :DDDDD, mihimaruGT, WaT... Hopefully it will be better than last years - didn't like it too much. I think 2005 was a good one though? :D

Christmas 2007 honestly didn't feel too much like Christmas, but I can't explain why. Overall it was fun though :D

o___o; I can't believe it's already Christmas Eve. It seems like as I get older and older, it takes longer and longer to feel like Christmas. o.x; But yeah... this year will be a little bit crazy ;; Hopefully still fun though! You never know with so many people there under one roof.. lol ;; My dad accidentally let me hear what I was getting for Christmas and it turns out it's a photo printer~ haha :D

Anyway today was really fun! :D We went to go see I Am Legend ... well we only saw half of it but the first half was REALLY good! I wish we stayed for the last half.. guess I'll have to go see it again later :D I got really curious so I read the spoilers and it sounds so sad. I want to read the book now.

We passed around the notebook for the first time today :3 For some reason, whenever I open up my notebook I neglect to realize that the edge is rather sharp and my arm is rather close to said edge. So whenever I open the notebook, I scratch the inside part of the arm and it leaves a red mark. So then, people think I cut my wrists =A=; Yeah.. from today when I gave out the notebook and then "OMG YOU CUT???" "...no"

After that we went to go eat because I was SO hungry D': We wanted Korean BBQ [pricey, but definitely worth it!] but the line to get in was really long. Instead, we walked over to the Famima, the little convenience store next door. I got a spicy cha siu bao (叉燒包 - no idea how to romanize it correctly) and we shared salmon rolls and spicy tuna rolls. I can't say it was all that good because the rice was too sticky, and the grape water kind of sucked, but the cha siu is always good at Famima! :D

We still had an hour left so we went to the bowling alley. It was my first time bowling since I was seven and I had no idea how to do it. For the first five frames I was doing pretty well. I had gotten a spare already and had 52 points. But then each time it was getting harder and harder to bowl o_o; Because, I'm so weak even the 8 pound ball thats supposed to be for kids was too much for me =A=;; My fingers were so sore lol So ... I got like all 0 after that D': Nevertheless, it was still really fun. Goal #51 - Get better at bowling.
