DPAK Rant #2- Shortness=Fragility?
What is it with taller people thinking those that are shorter (and skinnier) are fragile? I'll walk down the halls at school and notice two classifications of these people:
1) The 'let's-give-them-alot-of-space' tall people- When I'm walking down the hall, it's hard not to notice the fact that alot of taller people move for us short ones to pass through. And I'm not talking about a little bit of space, they try to go to the other side of the hall if they can. Oh yeah, I need a whole hall to make it through. Pfft.
2) The 'Oh my gosh-are-you-okay' people- When a shorter person, like myself, accidently bump into a taller person, the tall person will turn around to see what happened. If it's a female, she'll be all squeely, "OH MY GOSH! ARE YOU OKAY?! I DIDN'T SEE YOU! DID I HURT YOU?! ARE YOU OKAY?!" And I feel like responding with a hardy, "I was okay until you made me DEAF for a day!"
I don't think I deserve special treatment for my shortness. It's not like just because I'm short, every bone in my body will break on contact with another being. Or that I can't hear. >_> <_< Yeah. That's all for this rant.
DPAK's Question of the Day: Why do tall people treat smaller people as though they were fragile?
