Time: 10:53AM Wednesday 9 June

The sound of water, crashing on shore,
the land of white foam, and forgotten lore.

The stench of the battlefield,
bloodied be the loam.
May it follow me wherever I happen to roam.

Though I may seem,
both distant and dishevelled,
the corners of my world were once well bevelled.

Now they lie in tattered rags,
as I hear the foam and smell the loam,
and know that wherever I roam,
The battlefield shall be my home.

The shadowy cloud slips over the narrow pass,
casting a pall of black light on the ground,
but still, that needle of light,
it is cast upon the Mound.

Who belongs to it?
Trapped under it's green rug,
the great warrior of the North
must bide his berserk anger,
for sleep it is for him eternal.

In his time
he fought the great beasts
the narwhale, great bear
and more.
But now, in death
his sleep undisturbed
as the Mound grows into lore.

I feel all poetical and lazy. Too lazy to write a proper post. Sorry.

What do you think of these though? Once again, quick, but I have been thinking of them for a while.

Any good?

Mood: Lazy-ical.

   Quick of necessity

Comment | Permalink

Time: 7:55AM Monday 7 June

Okay, so it isn't of any necessity, bar my own laziness and the fact that there isn't much to say.

I saw 'Identity' and 'Life As A House' over the past two days. Both good movies. We went to the Cidery and had wedges with sour cream. Yum yum.

I also downloaded a few [4] Ween songs so far. I was rather put off straight off, when I downloaded two very, very, country songs. I read the review for Chocolate and Cheese [terrific cover BTW ~_^], and found that they tend to do very eclectic, random albums. So, I downloaded 'Can You taste The Waste' and 'Spinal Meningitis', and my opinion has lifted, though the country ones weren't so bad even.

Happy me.

Mood: OK.

Rellies

Comment | Permalink

Time: 7:44AM Saturday 5 June

Well, this Labour Day long weekend will be computer-deficient for me. Yes, the dreaded rellies are coming!

And lo! Shall the awful titans of yore come forth from the pits of the city, spewing forth their love and well-wishes, to deprive me of my own bed for a proclaimed Two days and Two nights. And the rejoicing was limited, and the peasants fell on their faces and reciprocated said well-wishes and love. And the earth trembled before them, as they came.

And the house, behold, it was cleaned in a flurry of activity! And behold, the mother, she must be wakened at 8AM, rendering her poor son not enough time to continue this mighty tale!

So, to cut an epic narrative short, my aunt and one of my cousins are coming down for the long weekend. Whoo.

Nah, it's alright, but there is a 50% chance that I'll have to give up my bed, and a 95% chance I will barely see my computer while they're here. Which is annoying both for fun and homework activities. Notice I put fun before homework.

Hope you're all keeping yourselves nice.

Mood: In between.

Well, last night was really excellent. We had indoor hockey, and, although we lost 13:5, I scored 3 goals! Yeah! I was absolutely stoked with my performance. It was great.

Nothing else been happening, indeed my life has been pretty boring. So, I will now, on the spot, make up a small poem. Enjoy.

These Days

These days they're floating by
these days, one day, we'll all die
But no, don't you cry,
Because all these days are
floating by.

One of these days, we'll say goodbye
One of these days, you'll visit my;
grave, one of these days
One of these days,
Hey ho!

And the days keep marching,
into yonder sunset
marching like flies
on a carcass rotting
in a basket.

And they'll march until dusk
and march through the eve
And the night, dawn, tierce and noon.

o_O I don't know where that came from. I kind of just made it up randomly. Is it crap? I expect so.

Mood: Tired, in part.

Well, the day before last I joined Tony's new boards. They're pretty cool, but I doubt that I'll ever reach a high score. I'm not that extreme a gamer, sadly. Well, gladly in a way, but it does kind of suck that I wouldn't waste my time playing games for hours upon hours. Heh. Right?

Anyway, you should check the place out. Group Sounds is pretty cool, and a lot... more relaxed than OB. Not as good in terms of quality, but thats not what its there for. I like it.

I produced my magazine, and did my Pitch for it today. It went well, and I think my marks should be pretty good. I might even upload my images to somewhere where you guys can look at them, and you guys can tell me what you think of my work.

With my RPG...well, I got 'Shade's Children' out of the library again, and I feel...like I'm not sure if I could do a good job with my RPG. I want to do it credit, and to do myself credit. So, we'll see if I get the heart to actually launch it.

It may or may not come. We shall see.

What else do I have to report? Nothing, I don't think. Life is fairly average.

Oh, in Maths today, we had to find the surface area of a tennis ball, right. So, we all get tennis balls. Now we may be the top Intro Calculus group, but come on. Why tempt us so? In other words, the lesson dissolved into chaos. We got our act together eventualy, but for a while there was some serious assault fire coming from one side of the room to the other. It was fun ^__^.

Mood: Really good.

   She Burns Like The Sun

Time: 2:53PM Sunday 30 May

At this very moment, I am juggling 3 MSN conversations, typing this and listening to Muse. What a superbly awesome day.

Excepting that is, the horribly windy, damp, gale-like, soaking day outside.
That sounds even more horrible than it is. Anyway, I had to trim these bush/tree things outside my mum's window, because they're growing waaay too close to the powerline for my comfort. I actually did it off my own initiative too. Which, trust me, has got to be a first.

Anyway, I did that, downloaded a few songs by Sugarcult, Kyuss [QOTSA] and two songs by The Hives. As recommended by various people. They don't seem too bad...but I wouldn't rate them as a favourite band yet. We'll see- as Melt Banana did, they may yet grow on me.

I think one of the main parts about loving a song is the fact that you can anticipate what comes next. For the most part, I don't listen to songs, and on the first play know that I love them. A part of loving a song involves looking forward, and expecting each chorus, each welling up of sound, each funky drumroll. It is, to me, an essential part. On a first play, the sweet spot might pass you by...but once you know the song, it smacks you right between the eyes.

Well, thats me anyway.

I have also had an idea for an RPG...it is based upon the story "Shade's Children" by Garth Nix, which I read about a year ago. I have only written a few lines, but hope to bring it into fruition. It is based around the premise that all adults disappeared, that strange creatures called Overlords took over, and that some of these children have special abilities and escaped, to come together under this one guy called Shade.

Very cool story. I might even see if I can implement a chapter based system as James has, because it is the only forseeable way that I can control the storyline, and point it how I want. Narrative following RPG's are a notoriously difficult area.

Anyone here be interested in a premise like that?

Mood: Ok.

Pheeeww. What you see in front of you is two hours worth. I hope it isn't too depressing for y'all. No panda's, but I am still happy with it ^_^.

It is amazing how much time all of that can take. It doens't look like that much...but it takes a long time to get right.

We lost this mornings hockey match, 2:1 ;_;

Oh well. I scored my team's goal, so thats a part way towards happiness. I had to come home with my coach, because mum has gone shopping. So, I am at home alone. I need to vacuum my room, and mow the lawn though, so I needs be going. All I did in the past two and a half hours is do this, and talk to Japan. I also downloaded songs by Lil Jon, Three Days Grace, and a few by the Stone Roses [Denny recommended them].

Mood: Pleased.

   I must be so unsettled...

Time: 11:58PM 27 May

I think that I mustn't get enough attention from my mum or something...because once again, I am thinking of changing my site layout. I found a good picture, I have a new favourite song, and I want something else. This Fresh-Mint blue feeling colour is awesome, but I want something else now.

So, sometime, probably this weekend I will change my site. I hope it turns out good....

Anyway, my new favourite song is by 'The Cat Empire', which is an Australian group of Turkish guys living in Melbourne. Their music is upbeat and...groovy, featuring a bouncy beat, sexy saxophones and tongue-in-cheek lyrics. Now, didn't that sound like an ad?

Anyway, they rock, and so does their song 'The Chariot'. Check them out, if you will.

I don't actually have much to say...I am reading another series by Garth Nix caled "Seventh Tower" whilst I wait for the other books in "Keys to the Kingdom" to come out. I am already up to Book 5 in the Seventh Tower series, and I only started reading 2 to 3 days ago. Cool. Anyway, I'll seeya later, alligator.

One of my loves is music...I just love music. I love to listen to it, let the sound just wash over me. I personally have zip musical talent, but you don't need any just to listen to it. If I could be 'plugged in' all of the time, I think that I would be. Sure, sometimes I revel in the quiet too, but mostly I love music.

And there is someone who has probably....exposed me to more music than I would ever of found on my own.

And that is Semjaza. Cool guy, go check his site out. But anyway, ever since I originally came to OB, I have looked up to him. In my book, Semjaza= Beyond Cool. His whole manner, his posts, his approachability, his avatars and banners even just signified cool to me. With the aid of his talking, and his "Top Five Coolest bands of The..." I have been exposed to... about 10 new, cool bands. And I love it. So, very deep thanks go to Tony.

I don't actually know what I am trying to say, or even if I am trying to say anything. In all likelihood, I am most likely blathering uselessly.

So, farewell.

Yes Shinji, the Plum thing is cool. :p

Time: 11:35AM Monday 24 May

U_U

Ok, I been naughty. Smack me, slap me, push me around.

Not really! >:-0

Anyway, Nanna's birthday went well. We woke up at 6am, and had to get ready in the DAMN FREEZING COLD because the fire had gone out. Then, at... I think it was about 5 past 7, we left. We stopped for some biscuits and a coffee refill at about 9am, and then kept on truckin'. We reached my aunt's house at 10:53 and had about 15 minutes to spare before we had to leave for this Chapelfarm place, which was the restaurant. We were there for about an hour before Nanna was due to arrive, and she did so at 5 to 1...which was surprising, because she is almost always late. Anyway, the party was really good and fun and stuff. I had a deeeelicious chicken schnitzel. Most lip-smackingly delicious.

Anyway, we slept at my Aunt's house, and I scootered, playstationed and dvd-ed my time away. It was a pretty good trip, all-in-all. On the way up there, I read a new book I had got out of the library, called "Mister Monday" from the "Keys To The Kingdom" series by Garth Nix. Today, at school, I found the second one "Grim Tuesday" and finished reading it. They are truly excellent books, though only the first two of seven in the... septology are out. Which is a damn, as the rest of them are yet to be released. Doesn't that just annoy the pants off you?

:p.

Anyway, aside from that fact that I have dropped down in ranking to #49 I am ok. Bad, bad, bad though. lol.

Sorry about the fact that I haven't been here much. Things just close in on me, and sometimes I just don't give a damn about other people.

Sometimes I just can't find the time.

I hope that you are all as happy as can be, and are having fun.

-Josh
