My Day, My Homework, Mitch and Music

[12:18PM, Thursday 18th March]
=\.
I am incredibly disappointed folks. Corey [KnightoftheRose] has gotten himself into some hot-water...and Black Horizon Evangelist of Entropy is being put on hold...until the 9th of April.
Son of a gun, eh? Damnit.
Anyway, my day yesterday was good. Played hockey and it was a draw [4:4] very close game, and against my best friend's team. Fun.
Before that I had endured about two hours of lousy homework... and this weekend is going to be very busy, not to mention tonight.
One- I need to finish off that KAL newspaper thing I mentioned a while ago.
Two- I need to write up an entire essay- notes and all on the statement 'War is Hell' by tomorrow. [I'll probably send it in late though.]
I also have a 6 page maths assignment which effectively needs to be done 5 times through, on linear equations. Due Tuesday.
Busy busy me, like a bsy little bee, eh? ~_^
I just luuurrrve homework.
No, really.
Also, heads up to Mitch- I read most of your poems this morning, [didn't get to start on Dead Astronaut]. About 19 pages worth. And they're all quite good.
I thought 'This note is Legal tender' was an interesting story, for sure. And that one about the Jewish Prison camps was...clever. In a... strange way. Good writing. It really... drew you in. It had a solidarity to it... how it kept looping, but not because he remembered it all. Interesting thoughts in that one.
I can't say I was immensely fond of the poem, but it was a good piece of writing, it just lacked a certain...flow to it I felt.
Just thought I'd letya know I haven't forgotten about them.
Yesterday I also added another quiz result. Kudos to James coz I got the link from him. Good stuff, eh?
'Eh'. Good word that, isn't it?
Eh?
lol.
And, yes Mitch I like my Oingo Boingo. lol.
But seeing as Tony put up that list of '5 Cool Bands' I downloaded some of them. Melt Banana is a little too.... hard for my tastes, but My Morning Jacket and Yes seem decent enough.
I also remembered the Misfits that Piro had [haven't seen him around for ages] so I downloaded 'We Bite' and '20 Eyes'.
Both good songs. Hard rock, but I like them.
If anyone has any bands they think are worth checking out, give me a heads up on them, just include a description of their style. I don't want to waste 20 minutes downloading it on dialup if I won't like them, right.
Got it?
Heh.
Mood: Average Joe mood.
Song: Running on a Treadmill by Oingo Boingo.
I have also decided to permanently forgo my History and all that other stuff. It is too much, and too...ostentatious. I need to slim down my stuff. Plus, I write these up at school reasonably often and can't look up the facts.
Blame it on my laziness, and my dawning realisation of my stupidity. |

Yeah, I'm back. Woohoo.
lol. We... didn't go as well as might have been expected. We lost ;_;.
It was to the team who got the highest score in the history of the game though, so I suppose it was bearable.
And no, I will not tell you what it was that I went to. Because then you could trace me and...
I'll go have some coffee to calm me down now... Shit. I'm at school. No can do.
:p
Anwyay....yeah. Rather disappointing, but I had a really good time, and it was fun.
Speaking of which, has anyone here seen Spy Kids 3? That has got to be the worst movie that I have ever seen. Lame, pathetic, unbelievable and basically silly. I feel sure that even if I was 7 years old I would have thought that the movie was lame. I hadn't even seen any of the other movies, because, frankly, it looked like rubbish. I hate those cocky kids that they always have. Arrrggh.
On the upside, it was 3-D which was cool, though the glasses did piss me off.
Mood: Disappointed.

Well, hello folks. Here I am, Ta-da.
I think this will be mainly a random piece. Prepare for... [Psycheness!!!]
dun dun dun dun. lol.
Hhhrrmm. What to say? Well, first off, big thanks to Tony. His talk about 'Oingo Boingo' really ignited a curiousity in me. So last night I downloaded 12 of their songs. Excellent band. I love most of the songs, particularly 'On the Outside'. Check them out. They're cool.
Tomorrow, I am going away, coming back on Tuesday. So, I'll miss Monday and Tuesday primarily. Aah well. I get to miss school as well, so it's all good.
Something that I might mention getting on my nerves is Transtic Nerve. Heh.
A few of his posts seem to be incredibly rude, short and/or off-subject. I know I have done this too [Particular point in the OB Religious Thread], but Transtic seems to do it a lot. And...he just seems to keep doing it.
Which...isn't quite fair I don't think. I don't know what I am saying, but I would have to concur with some of PoisonTongue's thoughts on the subject, I'm afraid.
Also, who thinks Sara has way, way, waaaay too many sites with strange stuff on it? For every single occasion, she has an...odd site. lol. Kind of amusing actually.
I don't know where I am going with this. I don't actually have much to say today. Maybe I'll leave it then. In that case... I'll see you all later.
Mood: Pretty damn good.

[6:15AM, Wednesday the 10th of March]
Once again, I must apologise for the lack of decent updates folks. I was on a spree, and then just fell behind. Probably because in the mornings now I am playing Desert-Combat, and in the afternoons…well, I get home, do whatever and then do two hours or so of homework. [mixed with a little bit of OB], before getting offline. Damn homework. I should probably use my spare periods at school for that, instead of for reading. But Dr. Moreau’s Island is a good book so far. Heh.
Anyway, my subject for today- The OB Community.
As school progresses further into the term for me, I find myself drifting away from it. Not from OB, but the whole…chats thing. I don’t have enough time. For the past two or three weeks I have only had an hour to an hour and a half online on the weekend mornings, or I haven’t been here at all. Which means that I am offline around 8-8:30AM, before any decent chats get started. Sure, I chat to a few people, but it sucks to miss out on the chats. I just feel…disconnected now. I wonder how many Kodak moments I have missed? Too many, I’d imagine. Heh. Oh, for school holidays at my dads, where I am online 8 hours a day! It just sucks. Most of you are my age, or a year or two older, but you all seem to be allowed to stay up late… my mum wouldn’t let me, which is why I suppose it is good I am in Australia- but then again I aren’t allowed to go on the net past… 9:30AM. Heh. I need to live in… India or something, where your 9PM corresponds with my 7AM. Lol.
Anyway, I haven’t been up to much really. I will be away from Sunday until Tuesday though, probably not online until Wednesday. Just a warning.
School is going well, everything is fine [excepting homework].
Have a good day *tips hat*
-Josh
Mood: Cheerful, still. Lol.
Song: ‘Danse Russe Trepak’ (The Nutcracker)[Classical piece]
Births: 1964: Prince Edward, youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II
Deaths: 1985: Konstantin Chernenko, Soviet leader
Occasions: Feast day of St Kessog, St John Ogilvie, St Attalas, St Hymelin, St Macarius of Jerusalem, St
Simplicius, Pope, and St Anastasia Patricia.
On this day in…: [A few interesting ones for today, so I’ll put them all.]
-1969: James Earl Ray was sentenced to 99 years' imprisonment after pleading guilty to the murder of civil-rights leader Martin Luther King.
-1974: A Japanese soldier was discovered hiding on Lubang Island in the Philippines. He was unaware that World War II had ended, and was waiting to be picked up by his own forces.
-1993: In USA, gynaecologist Dr David Gunn was shot dead by an anti-abortion activist in Pensacola, Florida, in a wave of violent attacks on abortion clinics by 'Rescue America'.

Cold. Very, very, cold.
*shivers*
Sorry I haven’t updated this for so long folks. I just haven’t got around to it. I took time out from my normal shotting up the Allied forces to type this up. Feel honoured. Lol.
Anyway. I haven’t really been doing anything much. I split up with my girlfriend [mutual decision], but that is about it. My grandpa came down on Tuesday, and he will be here until Friday. I will also be going away over the weekend…which leads me onto a very nasty gripe.
Homework.
*dun dun dun dun*
I have been hit by what feels like a positive deluge of the stuff these past two days. I really need to knuckle down. As in, pound my knuckles through cement.
Yeesh. This is all because I am in a ‘super-smart’ English and SOSE thing. It bites, to say the least. Lets see. What am I currently working on?
English- Analyse two or three poems [I wasn’t listening] eight paragraphs for each.
- Analyse the statement ‘War is hell’ and say you’re thoughts on it, cross- referencing with a poem, if you so desire.
- Continue work on a war autobiography.
SOSE – Make notes and answer questions on a 6 page document on the KAL007 tragedy.
- Research the KAL incident ourselves.
- Make a newspaper lift out [two A3 pages] on the KAL007 incident. Must include:
- Russian viewpoint on the KAL
- American viewpoint on the KAL
- Information/summary table
- Editorial article
- ‘Diary entries’ from a relative, the pilot, and American and Russian ambassadors.
- Pictures/maps/graphs to support information.
It just feels like so damn much. And seeing as I am [most definitely] a typist, rather than a writer, and the internet is supposed to be used for so much of our stuff…. I am losing probably 14 hours of workable time by going away this weekend. I don’t even know if I will get Friday night time. It just feels ludicrous to me. I know that some of you out there are probably getting this much, or more, but… I am finding it difficult. If I really want to do this properly, I need to reduce OB time. Of which I have practically nill anyway, and which I cheat for at every chance [i.e. doing OB when other :ahem: more pressing things need doing…]. I just feel really down. Anyway….
That probably just about sums up my days so far. My hands are going numb. =\
It is like, 10C here at the moment. Cold enough for me.
[Time finished: 6:37AM]
Mood: Happy, but pressured.
Song: Billie Jean by Michael Jackson
Births:1394: Prince Henry the Navigator, Portuguese patron of explorers
Deaths:1852: Nikolai Gogol, Russian novelist and playwright
Occasions:Feast day of St Peter of Cava, St Casimir of Poland, and St Adrian and his Companions.
On this day in…:1882: Britain's first electric trams came into operation in Leytonstone, East London.
Lincoln was also sworn in… but seriously, lets get away from Americans for a while, right? Lol.
No, really.

My little trip...

[6:31AM, Friday the 27th of February, 2004]
Well, I am back home. Rather disappointed too. What I was going up for- a TV competition- was cancelled. The presenter had laryngitis. The team could hardly believe our ears. We originally thought our teacher was messing around with us but no. He was telling the truth. So it was cancelled. All the supporters came up, and we still did everything, but no competition. Not until the 15th of March will we be going up for it again. Aah well. Tis a mighty crying shame. I don’t really feel like going into a detailed account of the stuff we did up there. Not only do I not have enough time, I am too lazy.
I’ll just give you a brief synopsis.
Tuesday: Went up Tuesday from school. Picked up my stuff [sleeping bag, clothes etc.]. Sat in car and ate lollies and chatted with the others on the team. Were told on the way up that it was postponed [by then it was too late to cancel everyone coming up and stuff though]. Watched the Fremantle Dockers [a football team (AFL)] train. Went to a nice restaurant and shared a seafood basket with one of the others. Saw a funny sign that said “Don’t feed the seagulls or they will S.O.Y”. Guess what that means ^__^. Went to our lodgings at a motel, then went to an open-air cinema viewing of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Went back to the motel. Chatted and mucked around until midnight, fell asleep.
Wednesday: Woke up at 4AM to the radio sounds of ‘Hey Mama’ coming from the radio [which I purposely had left on]. Rolled over and fell back asleep. Woke at 6:30 and got up. Wandered around the room for a bit then watched cartoons until eight. We went and had a Macca’s breakfast. Back to the Motel, pack up, and meet the supporters who came up that morning at this museum. We were given brochures and had to go through the city down to the Barrack Street Jetty. Ferry to the zoo. Wandered around in the zoo [going the opposite way to everyone else, just my luck]. We left and went to our new lodgings at a camp school. It was terrible. Played about an hours worth of rabid ping-pong in the living-area there, that was good. Went out to a movie [Along came Polly]. Then had chips and went down to the beach at about 10:00PM. Left at about 11:00ish. Went back, stuffed around, went to bed. Was asleep within 15 minutes.
Thursday: Woke at 6:00 as we had to be out by 7:30. Had a shower in the awful shower-block, then had breakfast [Rice Bubbles] and made lunch. Played a few more rounds of ping pong. Left the camp-school and headed for Sci-tech [Like a big science place for the family]. Spent a few hours there. Then we had lunch at a park and went to a hospital for about an hour to look at the Neuro-Medicine wing. Hopped on the bus and came home, stopping at a shopping-centre for 45 mins to wander around. Got back home, had take-away for dinner and went to bed.
Not as brief as I was planning, but briefer than it could have been. My little File Organiser has sounded it’s alarm so I am off to make my lunch and get ready for school. I’ll finish this in about 50 minutes….
….
Well, I am back now. Ta-da. I am thinking of skipping first period to finish of my maths homework. Still got three questions to do, and it’s due second period. Iyeh! Shocking.
I wonder what has been happening on OB and mO these past few days. Knowing my luck, the new mO we were told about in James’ post has probably been implemented. Aah well.
This is so exciting. All this new stuff is coming along, and we, being part of what I would dare to call the Primo online community, are getting it all! How lucky are we? Seriously. We lucked out that Adam would get anime-fever. We lucked out with him finding James, we lucked out with Justin. Mars too, even though I don’t know him.
Basically we are very lucky people. I find myself repeating this often, but these people are due a serious thanks.
Mood: I’m good.
Song: None.
Births: AD 274: Constantine, Roman emperor
Deaths: 1985: Henry Cabot Lodge, US politician and diplomat
Occasions: Feast day of St Alnoth, St Herefrith of Louth, and St Leander of Seville.
On this day in…: 1933: The German Reichstag (parliament building) in Berlin was destroyed by fire; it is believed that the Nazis were responsible, though they blamed the communists.

[6:42AM, February 22nd 2004]
Well. Here I am folks. What to say this time?
Ok. Yesterday, I awoke at about 6:10AM. I can’t rightly remember what I did until 6:50 when I hopped online though. Anyway, I surfed mO and OB for a while. OB is really growing on me now. I even tried out the Geisha skin, but switched back to Liquid ASAP. Bit too purple and bright for me. I chatted with Mitch, Cloricus…. I think that was all.
Mitch wrote up a hilarious mO entry yesterday. Very good stuff. Also, you will now find that my links to other people work! Thanks very much to Justin who informed me that I needed to put the ‘http://’ in front of the address for it to work. Also, thanks to Semjaza Azazel for helping me construct the table which allows my Mona Baron and Shoutbox to be side-by-side.
Anyway, yesterday. Well, seeing as I am going to be away from Tuesday until Friday, I am going to miss my indoor-hockey and needed to arrange a replacement. So I rang various people, and one of them put me onto a guy who lives only a few houses away from me. So, at about 10AM he came over, and I did my best to show him the rules and stuff. I reckon that he’ll go well. Then at about 11, I felt peckish for some jellybeans. We had some here, but… I guess I kind of wanted to go for a walk. So I ambled down into town, grabbed my jellybeans and came home. Got back at 12AM. My damn watch battery died while I was down there too =\.
Nice jelly beans though. Heh.
My mum wanted me to do up an ad for some stuff she wanted to sell, so I did that up on the comp. I also uploaded all of her Electric Light Orchestra songs, as well as her Tchaikovsky CD. I love ELO! Plus, I have a growing classical collection. Next to my rock, pop and other kinds.
Eclectic, huh? ~_^
Then a friend rang up so we went over to his place at about 2PM. We sat at his computers and played games/chatted. I played Caesar III and he played UT2003. It was fun.
We stayed there for 3 and a half hours.
Then I came home, and hadn’t done any packing/studying/chores/anything all day. So, today is going to be a busy one, but I can manage. Easily.
Once again, I’ll remind you that I am away from Tuesday to Friday this upcoming week, OK?
Mood: Cheerful. I am always cheerful lately.
Song: Dance the Trance by 303-Reactor.
Births: 1732: George Washington, first president of the USA
Deaths: 1512: Amerigo Vespucci, Italian navigator after whom America is named.
Occasions: Feast day of St Baradates, St Margaret of Cortona, and Saints Thalassius and Limnaeus.
On this day in…: 1879: US storekeeper F W Woolworth opened his first 'five-and-ten-cent' store in Utica, New York.
[Lots of American stuff today, huh? Also,
1889: North and South Dakota, Montana, and Washington were created US states. Helluva lot of US related history today.]
