Pheew, Saturday has rocked around at last. Each week feels so long, especially because I’m not getting on OB as often as I’m used to. Don’t get me wrong; it’s not like I’m [really] drowning under mountains of homework. If I actually sat down and organised myself I’m sure I’d be fine, but the procrastinator in me begs to differ. Sometimes I can of been home for over an hour, and have not even started my homework. An hour a night isn’t that much, really, but it all revolves around me sitting down and focusing. On days I am completely capable of that, but not always. Anyway, thanks to my broadband, I can get on OB in the mornings now, heh. So, what have I been doing, aside from popping in irregularly to make one liner updates…well, I’ve been doing school, lol.
In Economics we’ve been focusing on the Income Flow Model. We started with the ‘Simple Income Model’, and now we’ve moved up to the ‘Full Income Flow Model’, which basically illustrates the simple flow of resources and money between Households, Firms, Capital markets, Government and Overseas Sectors. It isn’t that bad…some people might find economics a boring subject, but I don’t mind it. I have a few friends in that class, so it’s call good.
In Intro Calc we’ve been looking at equations [yay]. We started with linear functions, and we just started reviewing quadratics too. Sometimes I rip through the work and other days I do two questions and spend the rest of the time sketching with my graphic calculator, lol. It all depends, but I’m not having too much trouble with it all. Yesterday we got an assignment for that which’ll be due on Friday…the same day that my G&T assignment is due ;_;
G&T I was having a bit of trouble remembering surds and how you work with them. On Thursday the class was basically doing stuff on the whiteboard, and I sat there feeling like a Primary-schooler who’d just stumbled into a University lecture, lol. I was completely lost. But yesterday it just clicked, and I figured out what was happening, lol. So that’s good. My G&T assignment is 17 questions long, and due on Friday. I’m up to question 5, so later on I’ll do some more of that. We’ve been doing surds [exact values like root 2 etc.] proofs and other fun things like that :p
Physics we’ve been doing stuff in. Mostly ray diagrams and parabolic mirrors etc. Looking at things like (1\F)=(1/V)+(1/U) [thin lens formula] and the rules for Magnification etc.
Chemistry we’ve been having daily q uizzes to make sure we know all our valencies etc…which I’ve never actually sat down and learnt, so I’m only doing so-so on those. We’ve looked at atom configuration, valence electrons, electron dot diagrams, relative mass etc etc.
English has been looking at some short story autobiographies [the one we’ve read is about a girl with leukaemia] and trying to extract themes & issues and values & attitudes from it. Fun stuff, lol.
Oh, and one of the girls in my English class said my butt looked nice in my shorts, so I guess that’s a good thing :p
Schools going decently all in all. Even though I have three assignments on the go at the moment.
I have hardly had the time to talk to Alan lately, so sorry about that. Sometime this weekend I will redo the LSN introduction page, and fiddle around with that…maybe even link it over through here [as Alan and Hevn and Asphy etc. do]. I’ve kind of neglected it, lol.
:)
